cymbalta

1258539 tn?1293840202 Overall I think Cymbalta is one of the best medication out there but this have a cost. Cymbalta cost is outrageous and Cymbalta is very hard to stop. I stopped cold-turkey after using it for only 5 months and I had brain zaps for a little more than a month. The withdrawal was quite severe but it is expected with all potent powerful antidepressant.
Avatar n tn I was on paxil for almost 20 years for depression and panic. MD switched me to Cymbalta. He said it is possible for you to get used to meds after being on them long term. Is that true, cannot find much info. on that. The problem is the Cymbalta was better with my depression but seems to increase my anxiety and cause me excessive sweating, esp in social situations. Does the sweating sound like a common side effect for SNRI?

Avatar n tn Hi everyone. I have been on Cymbalta at 60 mg for about 1-1/2 months now, and 30 mg for a month before that. I was feeling really good for a few weeks, had a lof of energy, no panic attacks for weeks, was happy, etc.
1348086 tn?1370783185 This statement you wrote...................."It is hard to tell with anxiety. Some times it feels like a heart attack, sometimes you have no idea what is going on." Couldn't have said it better myself. And that is why I recommended you get a thorough physical to rule out symptoms that cause you so much anxiety. Most specifically cardiac issues. The problem with anxiety and panic attacks is that they can mimic a heart attack so well.
Avatar f tn 32 years old and i have panic disorder along with agoraphobia. i leave my house but only within a 3-5 mile distance. and now, we're moving 655 miles away to virginia [husband is military] and it scares the ba-jeesus out of me.
1185895 tn?1266608090 I was just recently switched from my old medication, Lexapro, to Clonazepam. I had been on Lexapro for 9 years and felt it was no longer helping me. I have been having panic attacks for the first time in my life. I have had to call 911 a few times this past year. I now know that it is panic attacks. I have a history of severe hypertension. So, the stress and anxiety just adds to that. My doctor put me on Clonazepam 0.5 mg. 3X daily. I started taking it on January 15. It has helped tremendously.

Avatar m tn Rt after the cymbalta got started I got intensely sick had major panic attacks, and manic feeling so I had to stop it. A week later I got weird symptoms like : panic attacks, increased anxiety, brain fog, constant dizziness, blurred vision ect. I took the klonopin and it wasn't helping and I refuse to take a higher dose. Is this postpartum anxiety or is this withdrawals from only 4 days of cymbalta?maybe klonopin withdrawals? Any insight would be great!

Avatar n tn Cymbalta is used to treat major depressive disorder and general anxiety disorder. It is also used to treat pain caused by nerve damage in people with diabetes (diabetic neuropathy). Cymbalta may also be used for other purposes not listed. Although there are side effects with all medications it depends on the individual as to whether or not he/she may suffer any or many.
1237495 tn?1268837283 While I'm not sure what you mean by, "is there any science behind derealization," there is most definitely a condition called "Depersonalization Disorder." It is listed in the Merck Manual and your symptoms are described perfectly. You may wish to Google this disorder on the Mayo or Cleavland Clinic websites.
Avatar f tn Hi everyone. There's really no way to make a long story short in this case, so please just bear with me. :) In 2001, I was diagnosed with depression and put on Zoloft. Since then (barring the first few weeks of trying to find the right med/dosage combination for me), I've been on 150 mg of Zoloft daily, and it's always seemed to work really well for me.
Avatar f tn My son was murdered in Jan, 2005 and I've since been treated and diagnosed with PTSD - however, I was previously being treated for depression. When I was tested last year the psychologist stated that I had severe depression, with PTSD & severe anxiety and panic disease with possible OCD and maybe some personality disorder.
Business woman1 I have been on the medication for 2 1/2 years (for Fibromyalgia, depression and panic disorder). After doing a lot of research, I decided to wean myself off of the medication (yes, I did see my doctor first, but she was no help at all...and again, I did my research). After going down 20 mg for two days, I was a basket case.

712802 tn?1274645485 No longer covered by her Medicare, her psychiatrist took her off the cymbalta and abilify. Switched to prozac 40 mg once a day. Last day for cymbalta and abilify was Wednesday. She is having horrible throbbing , headaches, angry outbursts, crying, the "runs", nausea, panic, agitation. She cannot get to sleep and wakes up after 4 hours once she does get to sleep. What she wants to know is whether or not she can take tylenol for the headaches?
Avatar n tn I took it for about a month and began experiencing anxiety, depression and sadness, and panic attacks. I cut the dose down to 2.5mg. No problems now.
Avatar f tn I have OCD with panic disorder and was in a bad way with horrible panic and anxiety. The Pristiq worked well but slow. My Doc raised my doses in 50 ml increments until I got up to 200 ml. I felt better little bits at a time but it really kicked in at 200 ml. It goes slow but it does work. Don't give up on it too soon. Don't be afraid to go up in dosage a little bit at a time. I've heard of people going up to 400ml.

2005453 tn?1328238571 I have been suffering from severe anxiety for over a year. It started October 2010 with a severe dizzy spell where I ended up in the E.R. for them to tell me it was high blood pressure and to get some bloodwork done. The bloodwork was normal. Then it got worse over the holidays to where I would feel off balance and like I was about to lose consciousness at any moment. My primary care doctor finally decided it was anxiety, end of January 2011.
Avatar m tn I suffer from depression and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), with anxiety and panic attacks for two years. I suppose depression arised from the fact that both my daughters were forced to immigrate because of the economic crisis of my homeland. Anyway, i tried Cipralex, Cymbalta, Seroxat, Effexor even and the combo Effexor with Remeron (California rocket fuel) but without great results. In fact, some of these meds, made me worse. Only Xanax relieves me.
Avatar f tn It can be uncontrollable crying or crying with screaming and yelling. I am on Cymbalta and Brintellix. I have Klonopin as needed. Is the Klonopin an appropriate/effective drug to prevent these overreactions?
Avatar n tn I would like to know if Depersonalization disorder is a real and distinct disorder? I see thousands of articles online about it, and active discussion forums about it. I believe I have it because I have severe chronic symptoms of derealization, the symptoms I have are exactly as the disease is described....but I keep getting diagnosed with everything BUT this disorder....panic disorder, depression, even schizoaffective disorder.
