cymbalta and pain

The latest was a 2 level fusion and I was really hoping this would end the pain, the steroid injections, and get me going again. It has not and I am back to taking pain meds 60mg morphine daily and 60 mg oxycodone. I have been so depressed and now I am taking 180mg of cymbalta and now xanax. I am more depressed and lost than I have ever been in my life. I can't do anything, I have no energy to do anything. I don't eat much anymore.

I was put on cymbalta for depression and nerve pain ( RSD ). I hate taking new medicines I know nothing about. I am young and I am afraid of it. I start off taking 30 mgs for a week than increase to 60 than I will get up to 120 at some point. Could someone please tell me something about this drug? Is it safe? Thanks Susan...

gave my valium 2 mg twice a day to relax the muscles and cymbalta 20 mg daily and said cymbalta treats pain as well as depression..have always been a bit leery of cymbalta but at this point i will give it a shot for a week or 2 and see how it goes...anyone else have tmj or take cymbalta?

Because if you are weaning down off of the Cymbalta and beginning the Savella, this might make more sense? To pull you off your Cymbalta abruptly might shock your system.

I took only two days of 30 mg cymbalta and felt awful (pain in all my body and electrical shocks in my entire body). I stopped two days ago and will see a doc tomorow. I had been OK with 50 mg Zooloft, 300 mg Neurontin and occasional 0.5mg Klonazepam. Don't know what I will be taking now. I use the Klonazepam when I get high HR. I had tried another SNRI last year (Pristique) and it too made me feel awful.

No longer covered by her Medicare, her psychiatrist took her off the cymbalta and abilify. Switched to prozac 40 mg once a day. Last day for cymbalta and abilify was Wednesday. She is having horrible throbbing , headaches, angry outbursts, crying, the "runs", nausea, panic, agitation. She cannot get to sleep and wakes up after 4 hours once she does get to sleep. What she wants to know is whether or not she can take tylenol for the headaches?

I have been on Cymbalta in the past and it was the best antidepressant I ever took. The only side-effects I had was nausea but after 1 week it was gone. My tolerance to alcohol increased, I was very outgoing in the parties etc. I just think it's a really potent and useful drug in both pain and depression and yeah anxiety. It can be stimulating for some, for me it was but it was not interfering with my anxiety.

I was prescribed Cymbalta when I was diagnosed with Poly Myalgia. I do think it took the edge off of severe pain and fatigue. ANyway, I now have a rash that flairs about 12 hours aftyer each pill, and I have had three kidney infections in the last 4 months related to not emptying my bladder completely. I think it is also from Cymbalta. The side effects peak together. I have been weening from Cymbalta for several months. It isn't easy. I am down to 30 mg every 2.5 to 3 days.

m also taking the same two And I have constant migraines. The two clash with each other I tried to stop the cymbalta and the pain was massive and I felt like I was dying!

I asked my doctor recently about about trying Cymbalta because I have recentently learned I have arthritis in my low back and both hips. I would have to titrate off of my current meds first. His main remark was that if I am doing well on my current meds he didn't recommend the change. I did start this combination because of chronic pain and I know it helps because if I run out of either med my pain levels increase. Both meds are available in generics which saves a huge amount of money.

I have been on Cymbalta for 3 weeks now and my sleeping pattern is getting worse and worse. I dont even remember the last time i slept through the night. I am taking Cymbalta 60mg in the am. I am going to try it in the pm and see if anything changes. Anyone elso out there have this problem???

I do not like the dizziness and weird ear "sounds" that I am getting on the Clonazepam. Also, I am currently on medication for thyroid(Levothyroxin) as well as blood pressure(Cozaar), and Propoxypnen-APAP 100-650MG(for my spinal pain). Should I start on the Cymbalta? Will it interact with my other medication?

I take Lyrica and Cymbalta and they help with the neuropathic pain associated with the Fibro and Diabectic nerve pain. The Cymbalta helps with a little pain. Side effects for me? I'm dizzy and sleepy in the daytime, but I take other things like Vicodin 750, Klonopin, Flexeril and Ambien, and Paxil. I gained weight with the Diabetes, so I can't tell. But I loved carbs before all of this.

Cymbalta actually worked for me after I had a major back surgery...i had alot of nerve damage in my sciatic and the cymbalta helped me while they were doing procedures to ease the nerve pain such as epidurals and rfas...however getting off of it was not the easiest thing I ever had to do...my dr lowered the dose and got me off of it safely but I was still going through some moderate withdrawals like shaking and nausea but they only lasted a few weeks and I was fine afterward...

I have also tried and done a whole list of other things to find an option to vics and pain. Anyway, I saw my Dr yesterday and he prescribed Cymbalta to go along with the vics that I am taking. He does not want to increase my vic use or the strength above the 5/500's that I get now. Has anyone else taken Cymbalta? I am hopeful that it will help me, but as we are friends here and I respect the input from all of you please let me know of good or bad things you have found with this med.

Hello, I am currently on Cymbalta for issues with L5S1 and have a lot of pain. I started it about 3 months ago. Although it is an SSRI (helps with depression and anxiety) , they say it also helps with low back pain. The first month I started it, I really thought I felt a difference. The pain was not completely gone, but it had let up. Now that I have been on it for 3 months I kind of feel like I hit a plateau and can't really tell if it is helping or not (for the pain).

My question for all those out there is does the bloating and dizzy head ever stop? I take Lyrica and Cymbalta. The lyrica was added a week ago and It has helped the pain so much I don't want to stop it . My doctors said they can be taken together.

s under controlled but im still afraid to take it because of the side affects. Im in so much pain most of the time. I also have non hodgkns lymphoma and sarcoidosis and both are in remission , and I pray I can get some kind of relief. I really would like to hear some input on this.

Since being on a antibotic and this cymbalta my neck feels funny and my throat feels like its got a lump of cotton in it,the cymbalta makes my mouth dry, I went to medical dr yesterday told him i thought i was allergic to meds he looked down my throat in my mouth and felt my neck and said im ok...........but its still bothering me,,,,,,,,,im thinking about stopping the cymbalta to see if it goes away.......Its really bad when i bend my head down and underneath my chin...........

He said it would help me with sleep and pain. It was 2 weeks of hell, no sleep and constant pain and I wanted to kill myself!!! I was not depressed and have no history of depression. my doctor switched me to amitriptyline. It helps with sleep but not pain, I would never recommend Cymbalta to anyone !

Like I am an idiot or something- no hon, Vicodins are pain pills- Cymbalta pills are loony pills, and you are a weirdo. OK? Now we are straight.
