Cymbalta and muscle pain

Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta and muscle pain

cymbalta

Avatar f tn Lyrica is also supposed to help with the sleep problem, muscle pain and the tingling in extremeities. My dr. had told me not to take cymbalta and lyrica together... but again you NEED to consult a professional on that. I was not able to take either meds because they made me too loopy (swimmy headed). So I do take a benadryll to help me sleep. Good deep sleep is very important.
Avatar m tn So if im on oxys, and i go on suboxone, i can take cymbalta safely and it will help with withdrawls and depression?
501895 tn?1210201743 I have a 4 slipped disc in my neck and the intraferon makes them hurt worse than before my doctor says they are fine I only try to take them after the shots when it is the worst but GP and GI doctor said Vicodin is fine and my script is for 750mg I dont take any antidepressants though and yes Cymbalta is hard on the liver so is caffine, salt, so on.
Avatar f tn I'm 41, 5'9, 240 lbs. I have gained weight rapidly over the last year. I feel it's due to pain which has caused me to have less movement to burn off anything. I also work in a office and sit all day. I have been to multiple dr's over the past 2 years and am currently seeing an internal med.dr. I'm feeling like no one can help me. So here's the run down of my symptoms: Pain in lower back on right side of spine, after MRI on back, it showed a protruding disk at L4.
217229 tn?1192762404 I take Lyrica and Cymbalta and they help with the neuropathic pain associated with the Fibro and Diabectic nerve pain. The Cymbalta helps with a little pain. Side effects for me? I'm dizzy and sleepy in the daytime, but I take other things like Vicodin 750, Klonopin, Flexeril and Ambien, and Paxil. I gained weight with the Diabetes, so I can't tell. But I loved carbs before all of this.
396332 tn?1320003615 So I started back up on the cymbalta and want to see if it fades away a bit. My legs twitch so much they start to get sore. Has anyone else had anything similar to this. And I know I can go to a nuerologist which I have and they thought it was benign.
373683 tn?1218997212 You start slow, and work up to the dose that relieves your nerve pain. There are some side effects, and some people gain weight on it, but it has helped my fibro and diabetic neuropathy a lot. Is this a GP you are seeing, or a rheumatologist who specialises in fibro? A specialist would be best. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I was put on it for nueropathic pain up my neck n down my arm. I have severe nerve damage. Cymbalta took all the pain away in my neck n some other nerve pain. I love it. It truely helped me. I also am on neurontin.
712802 tn?1274645485 No longer covered by her Medicare, her psychiatrist took her off the cymbalta and abilify. Switched to prozac 40 mg once a day. Last day for cymbalta and abilify was Wednesday. She is having horrible throbbing , headaches, angry outbursts, crying, the "runs", nausea, panic, agitation. She cannot get to sleep and wakes up after 4 hours once she does get to sleep. What she wants to know is whether or not she can take tylenol for the headaches?
Avatar n tn ve been having a lot of headaches, neck and shoulder pain, muscle weakness and tingling in my right arm and hand and even sometimes in my left hand. I've seen a Neurosurgeon and Neurologist. I'm currently taking Lyrica and Cymbalta for the nerve pain. I've also had physical therapy twice, passed and EMG and a Myleogram. Any suggestions on what else I can try.
Avatar f tn Your post is a little confusing -- did you taper off the Zoloft, or go off cold turkey, or switch to Lexapro, or are you on both Zoloft and Lexapro and now Cymbalta? Going off any of these meds abruptly, even if you switch to another, can trigger a withdrawal, which is why I'm asking.
Avatar n tn i have fibromialgia and arthritis and bone spurs in my neck and shingles should i be taking all this and will the tierdness ever go away?
Avatar n tn Hi There. I have a somewhat similar dilemna. I was on low doses of Cymbalta with Lithium and Seroquel for several years. Last fall I went off the Cymbalta, and lo, I began to get neck pain, back pain, all of my 'old friends'. What is more serious, I did acquire (or have 'unmasked') a mild case of carpal tunnel, as well as pain in my fingertips. Lithium is usually regarded as the main culprit in the case of peripheral neuropathic pain, and so I am slowly going off of it.
1088430 tn?1259159773 in addition to the Cymbalta, but he did say that they work well together for my issues.(Muscle spasm, nerve pain, muscle twitches/tics, burning shooting pain, annoyingly strange sensory malfunctions, etc) If I had known ahead of time the difficulties people can have getting off of the cymbalta, I am not sure if I would have started it so willingly, but.......Nuthin I can do about it now :) Before the Cymbalta I was on Topamax for the nerve pain.
Avatar m tn Some antidepressants have been successfully used for pain. Cymbalta is commonly prescribed for pain and Effexor has shown promise in studies for pain. Some of the older Tricyclic antidepressants like Imipramine have had good results on pain. I have never heard of Zoloft being used for pain however. I suppose it could possibly work by the way it increases synaptic levels of dopamine but Zoloft is only a weak dopamine re-uptake inhibitor.
Avatar n tn Fibro is usually treated both with natural ways and possible medication like Lyrica, Neurontin, Savella, or Cymbalta. Sometimes they will prescribe a muscle relaxer if needed for muscle spasms. But most important is daily exercise....it's crucial to stay moving. The more people lay around or sleep the worse their symptoms. Eating well, maintaining a healthy weight, not smoking, limit sugars, salts, simple carbs...
Avatar m tn in reference to my query regarding cymbalta and topamax i only took these meds for a month and its been 4 months and i still have what appears yo be a permanent tremor!!!!
Avatar m tn Possibly unrelated but I also have left shoulder and arm pain and a very dull pain in lower left abdomen. have had endoscopy which showed esophogitis. Not knowing what this is is driving me insane! Any suggestions for other docs to see or tests to be performed?
Avatar m tn Staying focused and that feeling of being lightleaded/dreamy could be side effects of the Cymbalta and you can ask your doctor about those as well, even though he should have explained, in detail, any and all side effects you may experience. Call your doctor. You deserve to have your questions answered.
Avatar m tn cymbalta, gabapentin. coanzym Q10, enalapril . triamtrin h. metformin.atorvastatin.
Avatar f tn Pls ppl, Do not go onto any dose of Cymbalta w/o investigating it thoroughly. Thr is no exit strategy for Cymbalta and its half-life is only 12hrs; IOW, u cld be on Cymbalta 20mg for the rest of yr life b/c u cn't functn w/o it. Most of the ppl who hv tried to wean thmslvs off Cymbalta face awful serotonin w/drawal symptoms. It is not unusual tht Cymbalta patients hv broken the 20mg capsule and eliminated 1-2 pebbles (out of abt 50 in each capsule) per wk. it's a complete nightmare.
1128643 tn?1262483649 Hello there, Cymbalta is a SNRI which mean it will affect your serotonin level but also your norepinephrine level which can be translated into adrenaline which results into a energy boost and less pain. I am on Cymbalta and Lyrica for chronic nerves pain due to compression of the suboccipital triangle causing pressure on the C2 originating nerves resulting in occipital neuralgia and myofacial pain.
1490607 tn?1288379690 of symptoms (which are dizziness, weakness in legs, ataxia, blurry vision, electric shock and stabbing head pain, muscle spasms including the torso around ribs, mental fog and memory issues to name a few). Did not have any of these symptoms/side effects until 3 weeks a go and they are continuing, some days worse than others. Doctor is exasperated with me, saying I now have too many symptoms.
Avatar m tn s a pain spasm pain cycle and that i need to be on some kind of anti depresseant like cymbalta.. Apparantly my OCD and anxiety is not helping. I think it's a bunch of shaite and there is no way I am getting on them. NO WAY. However, is there any other way, other than SSRI's to break the spasm/pain cycle. I though of trying the st johns wort but it can affect your eyeys, what about 5htp?
Avatar m tn The latest was a 2 level fusion and I was really hoping this would end the pain, the steroid injections, and get me going again. It has not and I am back to taking pain meds 60mg morphine daily and 60 mg oxycodone. I have been so depressed and now I am taking 180mg of cymbalta and now xanax. I am more depressed and lost than I have ever been in my life. I can't do anything, I have no energy to do anything. I don't eat much anymore.
Avatar f tn of Lyrica, it has helped a great deal with the numbing, bone pain and nerve pain. It has not helped much with the muscle pain for me. I was asked to try Cymbalta for 2 weeks..which I did and it helped a very little, barely noticible. But it robbed me of my spirit. I didn't laugh or goof around anymore. I'm generally a happy person at the core...this FM is a pain in the...everywhere! Back to the Cymbalta...it also constipated me for the 2 weeks I tried it. Not fun.
Avatar m tn I suffer from SEVERE fatigue, muscle and joint pain, insomnia, depression, and irritability. I am to have a follow up appointment this week to discuss treatment options. My rheumo. has offered/recommended the following: Savella, Cymbalta, or Lyrica. I need some honest feedback from those with Fibro. that have tried these different treatments and which ones worked for you and which ones had extreme side effects, or did not help.
