I felt much the same way after taking Cymbalta. My throat also felt like I had a knot in it and my head was pulsating. I have taken just about every AD med known to man, including Effexor and the Cymbalta was the only one that gave me problems. Tell your doc about this for sure.
PS: Not saying that Cymbalta is a bad AD med, as it works great for many people. Just saying it gave me some pretty nasty symptoms.
The average dose for Cymbalta is 60mg per day, and although some doctors do prescribe it 120mg per day...there is no evidence to prove that it helps any more than the 60 mg per day. The maximim dose for Prozac is 80mg per day so you're still below the highest dosage on that one. I doubt your doctor will increase the Cymbalta anymore, and if he tries to...find another doctor! I just began a Cymbalta (30mg/day) treatment regimen, and coincidently ran out of clonazepam one week later. Rather than wait in the ER for 4 hours to see a doc, I am waiting for my next scheduled psychiatric appointment for a refill. It's been two weeks now, and my appointment is in another 2 weeks. I was prescribed .5mg/X2/day (morning & night) of Clonazepam (along with Trazodone (150mg at bedtime) for insomnia.
if someone would have guided me in the 1st place i would have seen a therpaist or psychologist!! everyone said you need to see a pdoc..well its taken me 3 yrs to find one that takes the medicare card..and they hate the paperwork..its like they discrimanate agaisnt me cuz of something that i cant control the states policy..so this whole time my gpdoc took good care of me.. to keep me above water

you cannot simply just stop taking either of these medications. But this is something your doctor should discuss with you in detail and the two of you, together, should decide which would be the better choice for you.
Also give some thought to getting into therapy to get to the root of your depression and anxiety. While the medications will help you deal with the symptoms, they will not "cure" the underlying cause. And that is what you must do to recover.
i was on lexapro for 8 days dr stopped it put me on cymbalta and i was on cymbalta in 07 no allergic reaction i haved treid it since then but get scared and stop it if i was ok on it before should i have no problem with alergies and does anyone know of anyone thats been on cymbalta and klonopin and plus i will be going on abilfy on monday i haved fear of meds and think im allergic all the time i have just taking my second cymbalta 10 min ago and alreadt htink im allergic plus i seem unclear thin
So today I stopped the Cymbalta and went back to taking 1 mg in the morning of klonopin and going to take 1 at night. It really does help I must say. I was just wondering does anyone just take klonopin only as a daily medication for their panic attacks? I have an appointment wednesday with my psych doctor and see what he says to do.
some complain about when on the combo. Klonopin is mild and lasts longer while xanex hits much harder but wears off faster. In our experience, depending on what the drugs have been prescribed for truly one of if not the most important thing is first getting the meds you need or course but once you do that finding the right dosage...that, is the key. I am currently taking klonopin twice a day which is a miracle for me prescribed from my psychiatrist... Prior to this I was taking cymbalta only for a week and 2 days! I stopped taking the cymbalta due to side effects. I didn't take any on Monday and still haven't. My primary care doctor prescribed the cymbalta to me! I was in the middle of withdrawing from celexa which was a nightmare in itself it's been almost a month I been off of it!
I had no withdrawals. After baby this last April my doctor put me on cymbalta 30 mg and klonopin as needed. Rt after the cymbalta got started I got intensely sick had major panic attacks, and manic feeling so I had to stop it. A week later I got weird symptoms like : panic attacks, increased anxiety, brain fog, constant dizziness, blurred vision ect. I took the klonopin and it wasn't helping and I refuse to take a higher dose.
That's a tough one. I would recommend the Substance Abuse forum. They are really good about knowing what happens when you come off certain meds and they know about all kids of med mixes.
Is he trying to come off the Xanax and Klonopin, too? It sounds like it could be from withdrawing from the meds, but it could also be from the mix. I have no idea.
