Cymbalta and irritability

Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta and irritability

cymbalta

Avatar f tn My sister started taking Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia and her appetite dropped a lot, and just a few months later she was pre-diabetic. I have read some other people's comments saying that going on or even going off of cymbalta has really messed up their blood sugar. some people even say that it made them diabetic. so if you are on cymbalta, just watch out for some of the pre-diabetes symptoms and tell your doctor about any weird eating habit changes that happen.
719785 tn?1232901518 they increased it to 60 mg and added ultram. It just made me more forgetful, clumsy and tired. I guess my question is... Is this normal and are there any other treatments that actually work. The pain makes me very irritable and the lack of sleep/rest isn't helping either.
Avatar f tn yeah, i think i have noticed it too, when i am sitting around on the computer too much, also i noticed it goes away with the right ssri, i have had chronic irritability for years and never knew it was a symptom of depression.
Avatar f tn Namaste, mcmcorp45 offers excellent information and advice and it is true that studies have shown that Cymbalta does note alter the reproduction process. If this is going to be your first child and you are having difficulties, I would consult with a doctor, who may need to refer you to a specialist as mcmcorp45 mentioned. Don't forget to have both parties evaluated for a possible problem.
Avatar f tn I went to my pdoc today bc I had a bad reaction to Cymbalta when my dose was lifted to 120mg. She said I may not be 'just depressed ' that with my years of irritability and alcoholism (I'm 21 years sober) that I may be bipolar 2. So I looked it up. Tons of new words. Hypomanic? I'm not the best one to ask if I meet criteria for any diagnosis bc I minimize everything. No I hate when people poke at me with their fingertip or pat my arm, or grab my arm.
Avatar n tn Recently however, she has been overwhelmed by school and relationship drama and has emptied as many as 4 pills out on her counter and snorted them. The result is a terrifying tear between getting her help and respecting her wishes for me to stay with her and not get help. She started abusing the drug like this more frequently until it got to the point where her boyfriend and i tried to get her to stop. She ended up fighting both of us off like she had completely gone insane.
Avatar n tn I have been experiencing a lot of anxiety lately that stays with me all day, and a little depression and irritability. I have been taking .5 mg Ativan as needed and I seem to need it almost every day. I also increased the Geodon to 40 mg a day for the depression and am experiencing worse anxiety and obsessive thoughts, which I haven't had since the last time I was on 40 mg of Geodon. I can't find anything on the web that connects obsessiveness with Geodon.
Avatar m tn I have recently been struggling w/ more intense anxiety and depression and irritability. I am switching from Paxil to Cymbalta, and am down from 30 mg of Paxil to 5 mg, and then up to 60 mg of Cymbalta. I feel like I am having a racing heart/palpitations. I am not sure if it's anxiety, Paxil withdrawal, side effects from Cymbalta, or there is something wrong with my heart. Has anyone switched from Paxil to Cymbalta (weaning off/increasing at same time.) If so, did you have any issues?
Avatar f tn dizziness, nausea, headache, paresthesia, fatigue, vomiting, irritability, insomnia, diarrhea, anxiety, and hyperhidrosis (increased sweating). Search Cymbalta PDR and Eli Lilly P.S. When my grandfather wanted to stop his Cymbalta (after being well informed of the Pros/Cons), I just sprinkled a tiny bit of the capsule into the trash and closed the capsule back up. Each week I sprinkled a little more into the trash. You MUST NOT swallow the tiny beads without the protective capsule coating !!!
719785 tn?1232901518 Hi I am on Lyrica for my FMS, but i'm not sure it's working. I'm only on 100mg 1 in morning and 1 at night. I was on Cymbalta and it wasn't really working. I felt like I was in the "fog" all day. Now with the Lyrica, I'm kind-of dizzy and ditzy and very irritable. I am under a lot of stress right now and I realize that triggers FMS, I am just really frustrated and tired of hurting, spending monet at Dr. office and at pharmacy.
Avatar n tn Hello. My name is Ed. I have Bipolar II. I was diagnosed in 2005 and stabilized with Lamictal and Abilify. However, I've never really gotten a handle on irritability. Although I've dealt with anxiety and depression, those have more or less been managed. But I still find myself having uncontrolled irritability, and I get crazy over things that wouldn't make a normal person crazy (chirping of car alarms, people whistling, other stupid stuff).
Avatar m tn Gosh, I've never thought of irritability and MS. I just have a grouchy day now and then, and when I realize it I try not to inflict myself on others. Luckily my dog doesn't seem to mind :-) However, MS is certainly associated with depression, even with primary depression. That's a mood disorder, as is anxiety, which often but not always accompanies depression. Yet I virtually never read of anxiety as a primary symptom of MS, nor have I heard of irritability in this context.
Avatar n tn i have stopped LYRICA and CYMBALTA and using CELEBREC 200mg for pain. Also taking D Vit 1000 IU and B12 1000mcg.I am Hypothyrod patient. Rheumatologist referred for Bone scan but that is also normal.
324184 tn?1308076203 Hello all. My partner has just stopped taking Cymbalta (60 mg after 3 + years) and started taking Pristiq (50 mg). She has been on it for 6 days and she has had diarrhea and vomiting for 3 out of those 6 days. Has anyone experienced these types of side effects on Pristiq? I know everyone is different and we're hoping that her body will adjust to it and start working. I'm also wondering if she is sick due to abruptly stopping the Cymbalta (her dr.
1535467 tn?1342231670 Hi all I take cymbalta 60mg and lorazapam 1mg 2X a day. Alot of days I just have these TERRIBLE CRAVINGS. I thought it was sugar, didn't help. Then I thought maybe it was alchohol (I havn't drank in 2 years), but I was willing to give it a shot. No luck. I then tried water, well that didn't work either. Is this a common symptom of depression?
Avatar m tn I am having some severe side effects concerning short term memory loss, irritability, and fatigue. I have taken Ibuprofen 800mg, nortriptyline HCL 25mg, promethazine 25mg, acetaminophen COD#3, cycmbalta 30mg, pamelor 25mg, cyclobenzarrine 10mg, hydrocodone 500mg, methycprednisolone 4mg, tramadol HCL 50 mg, and viagra 100mg. My question is will any of the medications i was subscribed or taken in combination have symptons of severe memory loss?
723959 tn?1314744225 I have been on antidepressants before so I thought i would throw my two cents in here...I think the anxiety and mentally weird could be from both the things your missing but it's increased because you normally take the antidepressant daily and now your body is missing that as well. I know when I went off my rx for my ad I had 3 days of bad anxiety and crazy things going on in my head.
867787 tn?1318936230 it helps me with my irritability and some nerve pain. it was originally given for my spinal pain due to neck and lumbar injury prior to having the doctors label me with a demyelinating disease. i didn't take much meds for my symptoms for years and there were consequences for that decision as i look back. i do not normally work well with ADs but this one is ok. i had to go to a lower maint dose due to the normal maint dose zonked me too much for my taste.
1442059 tn?1340240952 I have depression and anxiety. I did try Cymbalta and it helped with my depression but did nothing for my anxiety so I quit taking it. The above poster is right, this med is stimulating so if you do decide to take it start at the lowest dose possible. You might want to consider taking an antidepressant that helps both anxiety and depression. Keep us up to date and let us know what you decide to do. We're here for you.
Avatar n tn How do get off of Cymbalta? The withdrawal is horrifying. My skin skin burns awfully & I cannot sleep. Your cannot control your irritability . Clonopin plus analgesics can bring it down after 3-4 days. While I get back on it. I am trying to get off 20 mg. I cannot do it. This substance is poisonous to me.
Avatar n tn I have severe anxiety and irritability almost everyday. My psychiatrist said it was okay and just lowered my dose of 1mg. 3 times a day. my question is, will my baby be okay or will it harm her/him since i am in my second trimester? Please help!
405614 tn?1329144114 I checked out the links that patientx posted, and found many clinical trials listed, including Cymbalta. It was good to have the information, and I know to ask if I have to discontinue all pain meds before the trial. Just as Lulu said, I can't really guess which of the trials I'm going to be offered. I'll just have to take it as it comes. I wish I'd get that call! I'll let you all know.
605458 tn?1539228808 It is unlike normal or even PMS irritability. It comes on SO fast and I act before I can stop myself. I throw things, kick things, hit things. It is embarrassing and I am afraid of it happening in public. After the event, I can see how it was inappropriate and an over-reaction. I'm too old to behave like a 13 year old throwing a tantrum. I'm wondering why my bipolar disorder has evolved into this.
1691407 tn?1332712547 Irritability and grumpiness are side effects of the interferon. My husband had both. Forgetting or being irritable over irrational things could be a side effect, or it could be HE. Check with his Hepa.
Avatar n tn Nope. Just a sign that you're pregnant. I get that way occasionally too and I'm currently overdue, which reeeaaallly helps w the irritability part. Lol.
