cymbalta

Avatar f tn For the first two months he wants me to take the hydrocodone as prescribed and 30 days of Cymbalta 30 mg and another 30 days at 60 mg after that he said he would be able to get me off of the hydrocodone completely but it was unsafe if I didn't do both at the same time. Does anybody have any clarification as to why it's dangerous to quit hydrocodone and go straight to Cymbalta without being on both of them for a .
Avatar f tn 100mg daily of Ultram down to 50mg daily in one week; and from 90mg daily Cymbalta to 30 mg. a day in one week? I feel like I could bite nails in half. My head is in a vice and has these startling wooshing-type things. My legs are getting restless. I'm tired but I can't sleep very well. Any help at all would be appreciated.
906679 tn?1263612612 Pleas go anline and read about all the side effects and weaning off of Cymbalta. I and others have had serious complication because of taking this drug. It is very difficult to wean off and has left some with permanent side effects. Good luck. I took vicodin with cymbalta and now I only take vicodin. It took me months of agony to get off Cymbalta. Please do the research.
Avatar m tn Some of us have a chemical imbalance, that is why we become addicted. I too take Cymbalta and I love it. If you had diabetes wouldn't you take insulin? Well if you have a chemical imbalance then you need medicine to fix it. It does not mean that there is anything wrong w/ you. I am not even saying that you do but maybe you should talk w/ a professional to see if something might help!
Avatar m tn Things fell apart when I was feeling depressed, and the my medication level was raised. I was on cymbalta 60mg a day, and was moved to cymbalta 90mg a day. I believe that caused a huge increase in suicidal thoughts, and I began to abuse oxycontin, whenever I could afford it. It was the only the thing at the time that allowed me to escape the thoughts of suicide. I finally admit my abuse of oxycontin, nobody in my family had suspected I was using such a hard drug.
Avatar f tn Any suggestions would be helpful. Due to a personal finance crash, I am coming off Hydrocodone, Cymbalta, Ultram, and Lyrica all at once. I'm tapering off but it's not feeling very good. I've been off Ultram for a couple of days. I've tapered from 90mg Cymbalta to 30Mg in approximately one week. I've dropped from 40mg of Hydrocodone a day to 20mg. I haven't had to reduce the Lyrica yet but I will soon.
Avatar m tn Among the drugs you are taking Cymbalta causes memory loss, Pamelor, cyclobenzaprine, nortriptyline, hydrocodone and promethazine cause confusion, Tramadol causes hallucination and together all these drugs can affect your memory. You need a serious revision of your prescription. Please consult your treating doctor. Take care!
Avatar m tn So if im on oxys, and i go on suboxone, i can take cymbalta safely and it will help with withdrawls and depression?

712802 tn?1274645485 No longer covered by her Medicare, her psychiatrist took her off the cymbalta and abilify. Switched to prozac 40 mg once a day. Last day for cymbalta and abilify was Wednesday. She is having horrible throbbing , headaches, angry outbursts, crying, the "runs", nausea, panic, agitation. She cannot get to sleep and wakes up after 4 hours once she does get to sleep. What she wants to know is whether or not she can take tylenol for the headaches?
Avatar m tn I am having a difficult time managing the pain which is severe and yet my primary care doctor prescribed a very small dose of hydrocodone (1 every 6 hours) which at least took the edge off the pain. The prescription is done and he tells me just to take Advil now. I am confused as to why a Dr. would be reluctant to prescribe pain medications for something as painful as this condition? Should I be seeing a specialist of some sort? I have been taking NSAIDS like candy and very little relief.
Avatar f tn I have been on hydrocodone for 3 years and am attempting to quit alone.Ive done the withdrawls before and can handle it,i just wanna know how long before i get my energy back! I cant afford to be down im a single mother of 3! I would never have started back if i wasnt for the lack of energy.
798548 tn?1237503653 I was on hydrocodone lowering the dose as I went along in recovery and am weaning off. Today was my first day I was able to go without my low dose of hydrocodone and so far no headache as long as I drink caffiene. If i do not drink caffiene the headaches come back. I do not want to stay on the hydrocodone too long in fear of becoming addicted. Can anyone give me any suggestions.

I do NOT want to gain weight!!! I've heard both...you'll definitely lose weight or you'll definitely gain. Does anyone have an answer to that? thanks so much!

Avatar m tn Hi, I'm 27 yrs old, and have been addicted to hydrocodone and tramadol for the better part of 5 years. It first started with shoulder surgery and continued on recreationally. I had a prescription for tramadol for over 3 years, and it has now run out. I still have access to hydrocodone and tramadol, without a prescription. I'm basically fed up with my whole life and routine revolving around medication. Not to mention, the financial drain due to the addiction.
796687 tn?1237333243 After awhile Doctor suggested Tramadol...it was not as addictive as hydrocodone, etc. Continued on with both Lorozapam and hydrocodine untill about 6 months ago when the doctor suggested Cymbalta for the depression and took me off Tramadol. Don't remember a problem getting over the Tramadol that time because I think Cymbalta took up the slack. Used Cymbalta 30mg them 60mg for about 5 months and asked the Doctor to get me of of it.
Avatar f tn t heard that about cherry extract and might as well give it a try since I have peptic ulcer disease and have regular bouts of stomach pain.
Avatar m tn I take Cymbalta for about12 yrs. I go on and off of hydrocodone. My lift from the depression is better when taking both. I go off of hydrocodone about every two months . So as to avoid addiction. I have noticed that I am depressed when I stop the hydro. Bad depression the kind where you need someone to sit with you for safety. Not taking hydrocodone is extremely difficult because with out it I am in 8-10 on the pain scale. I have had 6 spinal surgeries and I have no hope for any other surgery.
Avatar f tn I didn't realize until very recently (last few days) that I was taking so many pills to help manage my pain. For over three years - Tramadol hcl 50mg tab -- up to 8 a day. For a year -Zanaflex maybe 3 a day For a couple years -Hydrocodone-Ibuporf 7.5 mg normally 4 a day but sometimes more. May 16, 20011 - June 8, 2011 - Cymbalta 60mg Delayed Release caps I went to the hospital in April 2011 and was so sick. I couldn't eat, I was shakey, sweaty, vomiting, ok...
Avatar f tn I've been taking hydrocodone/Lortab and tramadol for about 5-6 years, all doctor-prescribed for chronic pain. I've never taken more than prescribed over the life of each refill, although I sometimes take extra on worse days and less on others to make up for it. After doing some research about the w/d symptoms, I wonder how much of my chronic pain is due to fibromyalgia and psoriatic arthritis, and how much is due to w/d symptoms?
Avatar f tn I have tried ammitryptilene, neurontin, lyrica and cymbalta but none of them has really helped. Does anyone have a suggestion about other treatments that have worked for them?
4939681 tn?1361299299 Due to the fact that oxycodone bothered you...I would be a little careful with codeine and hydrocodone (vicodin) only because some people have trouble with the chemical compound because they are loosely related (the "codone" aspect). Not everyone does but it seems like you are a little sensitive to the meds.
Avatar m tn I was originally prescribed hydrocodone 10 twice a day for lower back pain 4 years ago. My pain is now pretty well controlled with Alieve. I continue to use hydrocodone/ib 7.5 in the AM and half that pill in the late afternoon but not for pain. My question refers to a moderate depression I've had for years that only 5mg Xanax relieved. My doctor advised against Xanax use except for emergencies. No anti-depressant worked or had severe side effects.
Avatar m tn The drug keeps my low energy and depression at bay and that dose has worked now for 2 years. Has anyone heard of hydrocodone at this fairly low dose as an effective and safe anti depressant for some forms of the disease? Could I be doing myself harm using a pain killer for depression? Since I don't have to increase the dose rather than being dependent on hydrocodone is it positively affecting my body chemistry to level out my depression? I'm 77 and in ok health.
