From that excerpt it appears as that Cymbalta may cause a slight liver enzyme elevation. That does not mean that Cymbalta causes fatty liver. Fatty liver is a disorder in which fatty deposits accumulate in the liver. This disorder is more frequently seen in overweight patients but that is not always the case - people who are not overweight can also develop this disorder. There is presently no medical treatment for fatty liver.
Your liver filters everything you eat, drink and do. If your taking drugs you can ruin your liver and that my dear can cause a fatty liver, hepatitis a, b, c and cirrhosis. Jaundice, or yellowing of the skin and eyes, may be present. Cymbalta may interact with alcohol and injure the liver and should not be used by people who use alcohol regularly. It is also contraindicated for patients with chronic liver disease.
I don't know if you have been checked for fatty liver or not but fatty liver is quite common and can cause enzymes to be elevated. Both being overweight and drinking alcohol can increase the risk of fatty liver. The remedy for it is to improve diet, lose weight and limit alcohol as much as possible. Ultrasound is used to test for fatty liver.
Oral nutrition is best but often is difficult for those in their first week of detox and recovery. Proteins, complex carbs, and essential fatty acids are necessary building blocks for repair and return of proper function of organ systems and brain neurochemistry. Vitamins and minerals are “co-factors and co-enzymes” which work on the building blocks to do repair and rebuilding.
but it is most concentrated in the brain and liver. SAM is involved in the methylation of monoamines, neurotransmitters, and phospholipids such as phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylserine. Normally, the brain manufactures all the SAM it needs from the amino acid methionine. However, SAM synthesis is impaired in depressed patients. Our diet yields insufficient quantities of SAM-e either for wellness or treatment of illness. Moreover, the form of SAMe found in food is not stable.
If I do any physical activity my hands and feet will turn very red and be very hot and I can feel the heat radiating off my hands and feet. If I am outside and the weather is hot and I am wearing flipflops my feet will get beat red and so will my hands. I dont feel any pain but it is uncomfortable because i can feel something happening in my feet and even my legs. If i take a hot shower my feet and legs become beat red and my legs get blue even and I dont know why.
I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
I live an amazingly high stress life (not enough room on the internet to go into that one) and have learned that when your body is enduring constant high stress, it causes your liver (? pretty sure it was liver) to produce an excess of enzymes and insullin to give your muscles the "strength" to cope with the physical side effects of stress. A natural defense mechanism but a real wammy for someone with PCOS and insullin resistance. I'm hoping it helps that issue too.

I have been checked out by Neuro, ENT and GP and NOTHING. I'm wondering if I have TMJ but I don't know. Here are my symptoms... Right ear pain Right ear fullness/ringing Pain behind right eye spot headaches on right side grinding teeth at night stiff neck - going into my shoulders I had an MRI/MRA back in Oct and all it showed was chronic sinusitis which I am being treated for by my ENT however he knows the pain is not coming from my ear. 75 mg melatonin and feel groggy again this morning ---- am sleeping, but once again are the side effects worth it I agree with you and I guess I was impatient for any type of relief so I started all the vitamins at once The ALA is supposed to help with fatigue B12 is essential for proper brain and nerve function Vitamin B12 is stored in the liver, and proper liver function is essential for proper vitamin D metabolism.
I was put on Cymbalta and only took it for about 2 weeks and then found out I was pregnant. #1. While I took it 30mg... It worked. #2. I dindt take it long enouhg to fully see its potential but I liked it. #3. coming off of it is hard. I stopped taking it without telling my pcp and that was a bad move. Welcome to Part 6! Please make yourself at home!
This pain would intensify which would cause me to wince in pain and then release and then repeat all over again every 5-10 seconds for about a minute. This pain did not radiate anywhere but only within a specific point. Then this same stabbing sensation occurred half way up to the first knuckle of my right middle finger about 30 minutes later. Then immediately following this finger pain I felt pain in my right foot at the joint of my middle toe.

GI doc found I have a hiatal hernia/GERD from upper GI and is currently being treated with Nexium. Have also had ultrasound of liver/gall bladder and MRI of abdomen - all normal. Feel like a pin cushion from all the blood work - again all within normal ranges. My psychologist insists anxiety is the culprit. Though I have been under a fair amount of stress with work and family, can these pains linger around for this long just from anxiety?
RUQ pain, including pain in my right shoulder and shoulder blade, nausea, but no vomiting or diarrhea or cramping, no bloating and no feeling or fullness after eating,a total weight loss of 30 lbs, fatty food intolerance, but normal stools. I had an ultrasound, HIDA scan , CT scan of abdomen-all normal. I also had a blood test for celiac disease. I finally had a cholecystectomy in Jan. '11 in Portland, Oregon. My gall bladder showed no stones, just signs of chronic inflammation.
Slow down, you are NOT going to die! You can still treat HCV with fatty liver and with proper diet the fatty liver can be reversed. Heck I bet half America has some sort of fatty liver! You wrote "It was worse than I could have imagined". This is not that bad, what could of been worse is CT scan showing a liver mass / cancer. So be thankful that fatty liver is all it showed. Move forward with treatment, watch diet and exercise. Also keep a positive attitude.
I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
The sensation is as if my head and neck are throbbing with pressure and I have to stop walking or slow down and stop and stand still for a minute or so to make the sensation stop. Sounds are muffled in rhythm with the pulsations and I sometimes feel as if I will pass out, but never have. There is no pain. I have been checked throughly by my GP, a cardiologist, and an electrophysiologist and none of them could find a cause.
I'm no doctor but I would think your body should have the Cymbalta completely metabolized after 2 wks. at the most. Please be careful and don't let depression creep back on you. Best of luck to you.
I recently had bloodwork done and thought Diabetes was the case, but all results came back clear except my liver count (elavated AST and ALT). I'm still going through some tests for the liver, but already had an ultrasound and Hep A,B,C test which were all clear. The blurry vision/foggy feeling has me concerned since I have recently been to the eye doctor and all was good. He simply gave me computer glasses and sent me on my way.

If I bent my knee near its maximum extent (such as when kneeling, crouching or climbing into bed), I experienced an incredibly painful tearing/burning sensation in the area of my patellar tendon. I would immediately react and straighten my knee and the pain would completely dissipate within several minutes. Afterward the area would feel about 50% numb, as if injected with a mild local anesthetic that was slowly wearing off, for several hours.
