Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta and caffeine

cymbalta

Avatar f tn I want to know if any of you have had glucose level changes during and after weaning and quitting cymbalta. Did your blood sugar increase/decrease??? did your glucose numbers went back to normal after a period of time? or the changes were permanent?
1100837 tn?1267668675 I am desperate for answers regarding my chronic leg pain and fatigue. My doctor keeps increasing my Cymbalta. Now wants me to get off of Elavil 25mg and Adderal 15mg. Doctor says take the Neurontin for sleep. The Elavil works best for pain, but I can hardly get up in the mornings and it has made me gain 10 plus pounds and counting. I take Clonapin 0.5mg twice a day. Getting off the Elavil, I am having cold feet and hands and a very unsettling feeling and absolutley no energy.
Avatar f tn Since doing the start pack to increase from 12.5 to 25 to 50 and then this weekend 100 mg, and cycling down from the Cymbalta (withdrawals sucked on that one), I am sick at my stomach all of the time and have stomach cramps, and lack of appetite. When I do eat, I get diarrhea and nausia. Is this something that's going to stick with me? Glad to not be gaining weight (the Cymbalta stuck me with 20 pounds in 30 days, so losing would be great, but the stomach **** stinks!
Avatar n tn Especially after you have a baby, stay up all night and starve yourself. It can mess up your adrenals and your thyroid so maybe the cymbalta balances out that system. That is what my doc thinks. As for the weight do you think it is from eating or the pill? I had all of those symptopms you had and what ***** is I run my own business and have to work full time and try to look good every day. I own a salon, my website is salon-lux.com. Anyway at least you get to stay home.
Avatar n tn Actually my pdoc took me off my anti depressant, the kind I was on was making me worse rather then bette(Cymbalta), it was making me seriously hypomanic. I'm on Serequal and Lamactil now, very new.. so I haven't stabilized yet, but noticing a different on the Serequal. My pdoc said that afterwards, if I am still having issues battling the depression, they might add Wellbutrin because it's supposed to be well tolerated with the mood stabilizers.
Avatar f tn I don't drink caffeine ... thank god or i would be up for 3 days. I think i would rather feel the fatigue than this.... just awful! Anyone who is new to this take a 1/2 dose of this med if you are prescribed it ....
Avatar m tn What is the relation between when these symptoms started up and when the cymbalta was started? Or it could be with the use of any other drugs even OTC especially for cold, coughs or allergies. Cymbalta has a bad enough side effects list but depending on what else you take it could effect that or even caffeine and a lot more things have caffeine in them than you think. Do you have any jaundice (or yellowing of the skin or eyes), color of your mucous membranes.
Avatar f tn I have recently introduced caffeine back into my diet in low levels. I'm sure that doesn't help it a bit, but I'm still worried.
Avatar m tn I initially started Citalopram (SSRI) on May 30th and 31st, but then switched to I Cymbalta (SNRI) 30mg (because I heard that it can also help with nerve pain) on June 1 and stopped taking it 6 days later, because I was a little scared of the side effects that were happening to my body. I stopped cold turkey after the 6 days thinking that it shouldn't be a problem since I wasn't on it that long.
596143 tn?1226648054 I'm on Cymbalta for moodswings and fibro. Someone posted that they were on Cymbalta and Lamactil and it worked well. Cant find the post. Anyone taking this combination and does it work.
Avatar n tn I was put on cymbalta for depression and nerve pain ( RSD ). I hate taking new medicines I know nothing about. I am young and I am afraid of it. I start off taking 30 mgs for a week than increase to 60 than I will get up to 120 at some point. Could someone please tell me something about this drug? Is it safe? Thanks Susan...
Avatar f tn I have had right flank dull pain on and off for a few years. It has been worse since I started drinking diet coke with caffeine in it. I have had a number of UTI's over the past couple of years. I have had a urinalysis done, it was normal. My creatinine levels are normal. I had a CT scan last August, everything looked normal. Any ideas?
1258539 tn?1293840202 Overall I think Cymbalta is one of the best medication out there but this have a cost. Cymbalta cost is outrageous and Cymbalta is very hard to stop. I stopped cold-turkey after using it for only 5 months and I had brain zaps for a little more than a month. The withdrawal was quite severe but it is expected with all potent powerful antidepressant.
Avatar f tn personal_page_id=817569 The link above takes you to the person on here who wrote about Cymbalta and Abilify helping her daughters. It is written in five parts. Thought you might be interested.
1088430 tn?1259159773 I'm being treated for chronic headaches/migraines.4yr history, only within last 6 months went back to neurologist to seek MD help again after MANY pro-active "natural" then OTC methods had failed.(4yrs ago several CT's/MRI's, then arterialgram ruled out a possible AVM or any other serious cause) Other than aboritive Relpax or Imitrex, was started on combo of Lyrica/Amitriptaline(?) Topamax ruled out due to "nerve" symptoms he said it wouldn't help.
Avatar n tn I have come off of a lot of my medications. My final meds are Wellbutrin, Trazodone and Cymbalta. The Wellbutrin is suppose to take the place of the cymbalta. After horrible withdrawal, I came completely off of Cymbalta last week. I became so depressed that I couldn't stand to talk, much less move. All I wanted to do was sleep and be left alone. When I did interact, I was grizzly mean.
Avatar n tn The average dose for Cymbalta is 60mg per day, and although some doctors do prescribe it 120mg per day...there is no evidence to prove that it helps any more than the 60 mg per day. The maximim dose for Prozac is 80mg per day so you're still below the highest dosage on that one. I doubt your doctor will increase the Cymbalta anymore, and if he tries to...find another doctor! Best wishes.
Avatar f tn My sister started taking Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia and her appetite dropped a lot, and just a few months later she was pre-diabetic. I have read some other people's comments saying that going on or even going off of cymbalta has really messed up their blood sugar. some people even say that it made them diabetic. so if you are on cymbalta, just watch out for some of the pre-diabetes symptoms and tell your doctor about any weird eating habit changes that happen.
Avatar f tn Namaste, mcmcorp45 offers excellent information and advice and it is true that studies have shown that Cymbalta does note alter the reproduction process. If this is going to be your first child and you are having difficulties, I would consult with a doctor, who may need to refer you to a specialist as mcmcorp45 mentioned. Don't forget to have both parties evaluated for a possible problem.
Avatar n tn And Paxil gives more people a rough time upon stopping than any other antidepressant other than Effexor (and, ahem, Cymbalta). Your friend should have been tapered off the Paxil, and maybe was, but if not, and even if your friend was, there's a lot going on now possibly, too much for us to say which is which.
712802 tn?1274645485 No longer covered by her Medicare, her psychiatrist took her off the cymbalta and abilify. Switched to prozac 40 mg once a day. Last day for cymbalta and abilify was Wednesday. She is having horrible throbbing , headaches, angry outbursts, crying, the "runs", nausea, panic, agitation. She cannot get to sleep and wakes up after 4 hours once she does get to sleep. What she wants to know is whether or not she can take tylenol for the headaches?
Avatar m tn I was on Cymbalta and experienced those side effects, but was much better after switching to Lexapro. Good luck!
5429367 tn?1368186006 assumed it was merely depression and doubled my dose (I should mention that at this time I was attempting to combat the fatigue with caffeine and was up to 4-5 cups of coffee per day). HUGE mistake. My symptoms suggested serotonin toxicity; I had to stop after 4 days at this dose. I have quit coffee, but since then I have been unable (I am not exaggerating) to take even the smallest bit of Cymbalta without the horrible symptoms returning.
714288 tn?1243254191 lol Maybe someone else can tell you their experience on cymbalta without the methadone and you can improvise accordingly. good luck http://www.cymbaltawithdrawal.
Avatar f tn More than when my thyroid was out of whack. Could the cymbalta be causing this and if so, what if I took it at night?
400867 tn?1371753094 Ive been on Cymbalta 60mg for a year and very nauseaeted, what can I do? Trazadone 50mg at night for sleep.
1185895 tn?1266608090 ) My doctor also gave me some samples of Cymbalta 30mg. I have not yet started on it. My question is are they safe to take together? What about side affects? I do not like the dizziness and weird ear "sounds" that I am getting on the Clonazepam. Also, I am currently on medication for thyroid(Levothyroxin) as well as blood pressure(Cozaar), and Propoxypnen-APAP 100-650MG(for my spinal pain). Should I start on the Cymbalta? Will it interact with my other medication?
