There is a significant difference between full monovision and
modified monovision. For full monovision, the dominant eye is set at about plano and the
non-dominant eye about -2.00 to -2.50. This correction should provide "good enough" (but not perfect) vision at distance, intermediate, and near. Some people never wear glasses, but others may need a weak prescription for certain tasks (e.g., night driving, sewing, etc.
