Hi. I am wanting to quit taking Cyclobenzaprine. I took 20mg a day off and on, like twice a week for 2 years, and then started taking the 20 mg every day for the last 13 years. I plan to wean off, and am wondering what to expect as of withdrawal symptoms. Also, does anyone know of a natural med I could take in it's place?
why? whats a better med for panic attacks. because clonazepam only help with my mood swings and agitation.

After pulling my back out, I was put on cyclobenzaprine. After 1 week of taking this medication, I woke one morning with numbness and tingling from the mouth down. My primary care physician felt that cyclo could not have caused this sensation; however, I stopped taking cyclo due to my inner voice. After 46 hours the tingling and numbess was gone, i.e... cyclobenzaprines half life is between 18- 48 hrs. After researching this topic, I found MANY individuals with the same symptoms.
If the GI workup continues to be negative, there are some neurological causes that can lead to uncontrollable spasms. Starting with an imaging study of the head, with a CT scan or MRI, would be a recommended step, along with a neurology referral.

Do you have a prescription for the Cyclobenzaprine? I would look for it and be ready to share it with your potential employer. Also, I would ask them what they found. Are you sure there isn't something you are leaving out? As long as you have a prescription for it you should be safe. It's illegal for them to discriminate against a legal medication that is prescribed by a doctor.
Must get more positive energy so that when i wake up it will spread out over the entire world and everyone will be happy and full of love and i will save the world. Did clonazepam help with your rapid thoughts?
More a question than an answer: I have never heard of clonazepam, but if it helped with dreaming problems, then it might be something I should discuss with my Primary care, or even the Pulmonary specialist that oversaw my sleep study early this year. I suffer from both chronic "troublemares" and chronic nasal congestion when lying down.

I take Effexor with Clonazepam. I take 1 mg of clonazepam in the morning together with Effexor and my anxiety is stable all day long. I even went through a separation which would not be possible if i stayed on my previous meds such as celexa and paxil.
You can take Clonazepam before zoloft why not? But if zoloft doesn't work ask your doctor about effexor. Just be carefull because effexor shouldn't be mixed with other antidepressants. Do it only under your doctors supervision.
I have taken clonazepam, alprazolam, and diazepam at one time or another during my mental health treatment. The only difference I see between clonazepam & alprazolam is that I had a lot of memory issues with clonazepam. Sometimes I couldn't recall some of the previous day events. I didn't have that trouble with the other two. And I wasn't taking a high dose, just normal...maybe 1mg 2-3 times a day best I can remember.
I have one more question for you ive been feeling a pressure on the left side of my head with ice pick headaches, could this all be related to the swith from the ativan to clonazepam? i did have an inner ear problem which i am going to see a ENT for also next week. If you have any more info you would like to share with me regarding clonazepam including how to wean off the stuff it would be greatly appreciated.
