Avatar n tn d - neurologist where he too told me that yes, Baclofen important as it addresses spinal cord spasms from the Outside inward and Tizanidine (REMEMBER THIS ONE!) Tizanidine deals with spasms from the inside of spinal cord area, outward! And so here writhing in pain still, total insomnia, tripping on everything, arms in spaz mode and body rigid - hey - i wonder if there is something wrong with me?
703238 tn?1297098358 I was prescribed a new medication to help with my muscle tightness and soreness called tizanidine. It helps me to fall asleep really easily but I wake up in the middle of the night, wide awake, and can't go back to sleep unless I have another 1/4-1/2 a pill. I want to know if anyone has any bad reactions to this medication or any advise? I also take 3 norco a day.
149087 tn?1258453820 My Neurologist started my on Baclophen instead of Tizanidine for my muscle spasms on April 1st. The only side effect I have had is I sleep really soundly. I don't hear my alarm clock in the mornings. But I'm not dopey as soon as I get up and move around. I only take it at night, as that's when my muscle spams are the worse. He prescribed it for twice a day, but haven't needed to take it that often.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed Atenolol for anxiety. Recently I was put on 4mg of Tizanidine once a day for back issues. I know that Tizanidine is similar to Clonidine and I have read that if you stop Atenolol while on Clonidine you could go into hypertensive crisis due to alpha antagonism. I am curious if this is also an issue with Tizanidine. I've read Tizandine is like 1/50th the potency of Clonidine but I'm not sure if there are any issues here. I am only taking 12.

917815 tn?1377498254 I dont post much (read a lot though)...a little over 3 weeks clean (again, LOL)... My right shoulder has been killing me the last 2-3 weeks, and this weekend, seems to have gotten worse; Doc said on Fri, most likely muscular...went through the weekend with Tylenol and today, pain is even worse. I asked him for something "non-narcotic" (he knows about my addiction) and he suggested Cyclobenzaprine (muscle relaxer).
Avatar f tn Hi. I am wanting to quit taking Cyclobenzaprine. I took 20mg a day off and on, like twice a week for 2 years, and then started taking the 20 mg every day for the last 13 years. I plan to wean off, and am wondering what to expect as of withdrawal symptoms. Also, does anyone know of a natural med I could take in it's place?
Avatar n tn Based on the findings, Cyclobenzaprine HCl should be used with caution in subjects with mild hepatic impairment starting with the 5 mg dose and titrating slowly upward. Due to the lack of data in subjects with more severe hepatic insufficiency, the use of Cyclobenzaprine HCl in subjects with moderate to severe impairment is not recommended. http://www.drugs.com/pro/cyclobenzaprine.
Avatar n tn My new doctor prescribed me Cyclobenzaprine for my muscles spams but I take celexa on my regular basis. I remember he told me to be careful in no combining those two. Tonight, I took my celexa around 1am. At 3:55am, I forgot I took the celexa and I took Cyclobenzaprine. Do you think is something I should be worry? I looked online about the drug interaction and they say could be deadly. I am very worry. Any advice of what I can do? Do I gonna be okay?

Avatar m tn Zanaflex is Tizanidine which is used to relieve the spasms and increased muscle tone caused by multiple sclerosis, stroke, or brain or spinal injury. Tizanidine is in a class of medications called skeletal muscle relaxants. It works by slowing action in the brain and nervous system to allow the muscles to relax.
Avatar f tn I have spasms in this area as well as in esophagus, and the diaphragm. Baclofen did nothing so I was sent to a pain clinic. I was put on tizanidine and tripeltal four time a day. Then a butrans patch. With the butrans I take less of all my other medications. My spasm were so bad nothing helped and they got more and more frequent. My spasms in other areas have decreased as well. Oxycodin sets the spasms off for me. I have avoid it at all costs.
Avatar f tn Sleep never came and restleg was so bad I took some tizanidine and it helped me get some slee[ but only for a could of hours and then I felt worse. Took more Tizanidine because my doctor said its 'not addicting" but I'm notincing I'm feelin worse not better. Feel more aches, not less, heart thumbing and throw up this morning (so missed workd again today!) I have to work tomorrow even if I feel I might drop dead. Is the tizanidine dragging it out or helping.
Avatar n tn I was in a car accident March 20th, 2009. I was put on cyclobenzaprine and naproxen for 3 months by my doctor to treat whiplash from mid back to neck. At that time I had a severe reaction to naproxen and developed severe ankle to hip pain. Then my doctor put me on tramadol with cyclobenzaprine. I was still experiencing shots of pain down my arms About a month later, so my doctor had me get a MRI of my neck.

1329025 tn?1278334460 I agree you should follow up with your neurologist. Other oral medications are available for spasticity. These include tizanidine, diazepam, and cyclobenzaprine to name a few. Thank you for this opportunity to answer your questions, I hope you find the information I have provided useful, good luck with the medication and also with finding your “diagnosis”.
Avatar m tn Can someone tell me what Gabapentin or tizanidine is? What its used for and will it help with suboxone withdrawals? Any info would help. Thanks.
10470775 tn?1410368160 I am taking Levothyroxine for my Thyroid and Tizanidine for my thigh pain. I also take Neurontin for my feet and restless legs. Tizanidine works but makes me very sleepy. I hate to take drugs. I have had Primary Progressive MS for over 16 years. It helps for some reason to put weight on my thighs and of course a blanket. I have a very good MS Dr and also a neurologist for my primary Dr. Just curious if anyone else is experiencing similar symptoms like with the thigh pain and cold.
2085202 tn?1373199740 Have been on lorazepam and cyclobenzaprine muscle relaxers then have been taking them rather frequently but still following the proper dosage instructions. Started getting respitory depression think I almost died....stopped breathing in sleep...lungs seemed depleted yet constricted...weak in the diaphragm. Went off it now and now feeling what seems almost like heart attack symptoms.
