More plausible causes of hoarseness of voice need to be checked like acute laryngitis, vocal cord nodules, allergies, gastro esophageal reflux, smoking, thyroid problems, trauma to larynx, parkinson’s disease and trauma to larynx. Consult an otolaryngologist who will evaluate the causes and treat likewise.

My OB took me off of all of my Fibro meds at the beginning of pregnancy. (Meds were- Neurontin, Cyclobenzaprine, Baclofen, Trazodone, Vit. D and Tramadol) The only thing she will allow me to take is 1/2 to 1 tab of Vicodin 10/500mg a day even though narcotics have NEVER worked for my pain and she knows that- and I hate Vicodin. At every appointment, I tell her that my pain is worsening and unbearable but her only suggestions have been more narcotics and warm water exercise.

OK I have found out Baclofen and I don't get along. I started out after only 2 doses, 5mg at bed time two nights in a row and by the next morning I was having breathing difficultiefs. Well I continued to take it not knowing that was the problem. My neuro said after a couple days I could also take one in the Morn. I did and breathing got worse. Went to pcp and he did the hand held breathing test and gave me asthma meds. Continued the Baclofen only to have breathing worse.

I take Zanaflex which is much like the drug Baclofen. Zanaflex produces more drowsiness and sedation than baclofen. Are you taking it as a muscle relaxer?

Baclofen is for spasticity, not muscle spasms. There is a difference. Anybody know for sure how to tell the difference between paresthesias and stiffness from spasticity? I am definitely having more paresthesias (burning, etc.), but also some things (pressure, feeling like my skin is too tight and dry, banding feelings) that I'm not sure about. Plus when I walk my feet often feel like they're wearing wet socks made out of concrete. Very unpleasant feeling.

I have to agree with what you have read. Xanax is not commonly reported in the articles discussing spasticity. In fact, it can have a paradoxical (reverse) reaction of "causing" spasticity. The two most common drugs are, indeed, valium (diazepam) and Klonopin (clonazepam). Xanax and Valium are short-acting and clonazepam is long-acting. My preference would be for the longer-acting clonazepam.

Can I take Hydrocodone 10/325, Cyclobenzaprine 10mg, and Tramadol 50mg together safely?

I dont post much (read a lot though)...a little over 3 weeks clean (again, LOL)... Baclofen is rapidly absorbed, so some doctors use it as an "as needed" (PRN) medication. It is related to Gabapentin, and can (not always) cause withdrawal syndrome. When taken "as needed," withdrawal syndrome would be rare. I started it as "as needed at bedtime." my doctor is trying a new muscle relaxer called baclofen, i was taking robaxin but it made me too tired, is this new one going to make me really tired too? i am really reluctant to take it.

After a few years on Flexeril I was recently switched to Baclofen. It seems like Bacofen is the go-to drug for MS related spasicity. The wanted me to start out on 1/2 does for 7 days and go to the full dose after that. I made it three days on the 1/2 dose and couldn't take it anymore. Since it takes a while to get to therapeutic levels I was kept awake all night with TERRIBLE spasms, worse than usual, I had muscle weakness and I was puking my brains out.

So during my withdrawal process, Ive done plenty of research trying to find ways to help ease my symptoms. I was just wondering why I have never heard of this drug "Baclofen" helping with opiate withdrawal. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge???

thanks guys, I think I will hold off on the Baclofen, and stick my Flexeril as it does seem to help, though not entirely, but it doesn't have the side effects for me ..... Hope you are all having a bright, sunny day..
