Hi. I am wanting to quit taking Cyclobenzaprine. I took 20mg a day off and on, like twice a week for 2 years, and then started taking the 20 mg every day for the last 13 years. I plan to wean off, and am wondering what to expect as of withdrawal symptoms. Also, does anyone know of a natural med I could take in it's place?
Yes the 2mg for diazepam is the lowest dosage. Just got to remember to take it 3 times a day, oops I just realized that I forgot to take it with my dinner.

I was in a car accident March 20th, 2009. I was put on cyclobenzaprine and naproxen for 3 months by my doctor to treat whiplash from mid back to neck. At that time I had a severe reaction to naproxen and developed severe ankle to hip pain. Then my doctor put me on tramadol with cyclobenzaprine. I was still experiencing shots of pain down my arms About a month later, so my doctor had me get a MRI of my neck.
Based on the findings, Cyclobenzaprine HCl should be used with caution in subjects with mild hepatic impairment starting with the 5 mg dose and titrating slowly upward. Due to the lack of data in subjects with more severe hepatic insufficiency, the use of Cyclobenzaprine HCl in subjects with moderate to severe impairment is not recommended.

My new doctor prescribed me Cyclobenzaprine for my muscles spams but I take celexa on my regular basis. I remember he told me to be careful in no combining those two. Tonight, I took my celexa around 1am. At 3:55am, I forgot I took the celexa and I took Cyclobenzaprine. Do you think is something I should be worry? I saw my PCP and he said that he is not sure if I have PID because I have a good medical history and he gave me cyclobenzaprine to treat my back pain, which has helped. After contacting my gyn about this pain and PCP, both said that this is an orthopedics issue and I have scheduled for a Physical Therapy consult on Monday. I am just curious if this pain will go away with PT since the pain meds are not helping and what is the likelihood that this is related to PID?

If the doctor prescribed that dosage, then I would trust him/her. Zoloft is typically prescribed from 50-200mg, so your son is taking a 'normal' dosage in my opinion. I was on Zoloft a couple of years ago and had no major problems coming off of it. Just ensure when it is time to come off the medication work with your doctor and taper down slowly.
s pregnant and taking 100mcg thyroxine during the week and 75mcg at weekend. I feel this is not enough as experiencing problems i would normal experience if I do not take enough. I therefore required a blood test and it came back with my TSH at 8.83, The doctor has now increase my weekend dosage to 100mcg but I still feel this is not enough. s causing. Diabetic/hormone leves in normal range. Appears my body is deficient in vitamins or something. Seems to cycle every few weeks, like nervous condition for 3 weeks, then disappear for 3 weeks, then return. I tried Cyclobenzaprine to reduce muscle tightness, stiffness, tension, but all med does is knocks me out, upon waking nothing changed. Has anyone experienced, unexplainable nervous condition ? causing tight/stiff muscles. What relieved, etc.... Thanks for any assistance.
I think so - I get this in my right foot. One night I woke up with a toe spasm that would not stop - I had to sleep on my stomach and push my toe against the bed.
by the time i got to the ER it had stopped. they put me on an EKG and everything came back normal. they said it was probably something in my chest wall that was making me feel like that, and they prescribed me cyclobenzaprine, which didnt do anything to help.
The pains came back again back in august and i went today to see a doctor on my college campus.
