Hi. I am wanting to quit taking Cyclobenzaprine. I took 20mg a day off and on, like twice a week for 2 years, and then started taking the 20 mg every day for the last 13 years. I plan to wean off, and am wondering what to expect as of withdrawal symptoms. Also, does anyone know of a natural med I could take in it's place?
Can I take Hydrocodone 10/325, Cyclobenzaprine 10mg, and Tramadol 50mg together safely?
Based on the findings, Cyclobenzaprine HCl should be used with caution in subjects with mild hepatic impairment starting with the 5 mg dose and titrating slowly upward. I have a syrinx and pinched nerve and bulging disc in between c5 and c6. the pain is now running down to the middle of my back and lower back. Is it usual to have disc pain and nerve pain to do this? I am in good shape and see a cardiologist regularly for an aortic valve disorder, but no symptoms of that condition have presented at all. I guess, I am getting older, but 34 isn't a good age to wear out your back.
My new doctor prescribed me Cyclobenzaprine for my muscles spams but I take celexa on my regular basis. I remember he told me to be careful in no combining those two. Tonight, I took my celexa around 1am. At 3:55am, I forgot I took the celexa and I took Cyclobenzaprine. Do you think is something I should be worry? I am 62 years old and have been treated for high BP for over 15 years. I have been taking Toporal XR 25 mg. 3x qd, H ydrochlorathizide 5mg 1x qd for the last 2 years. I woke up Tuesday morning with my head spinning, very dizzy. I took my BP and it was 180/111 pulse 55. This whole week it has stayed between 160/100 to higher and the pulse lower than I have ever had. I went to the doctor, could not see my regular doc but saw the one handling urgent care Thursday.
They are similar to soma - not as strong - flexeril is cyclobenzaprine (check spell)and soma is carisprodol.......

Welcome to the medhelp neurology forum. Flexeril or cyclobenzaprine or baclofen are not associated with hoarseness of voice. More plausible causes of hoarseness of voice need to be checked like acute laryngitis, vocal cord nodules, allergies, gastro esophageal reflux, smoking, thyroid problems, trauma to larynx, parkinson’s disease and trauma to larynx. Consult an otolaryngologist who will evaluate the causes and treat likewise.

I took 1 ...did not feel like it was doing anything.....my shoulders were still arched up to my ears...(i think i also have a pinched nerve in my shoulder so my shoulders are always up)......
so about 2 1/2 hours later i took one more............ugh.......it sent the pain into high gear....seems like it aggravated my back......because...i was having pains all over my back in spots.....even in the lower back.....on the muscle parts....

My legs started freezing up about a year ago to the point that I would fall backwards. They started getting weaker and I had to hold onto furniture, my husband or kids to get anywhere. Rising from a sitting position was horrible because I couldn't move my legs at all unless someone was there to get me going. Then if I walked outside it started getting worse around traffic or people. Anything that would startle me would make them freeze up and I would fall.

my question is will Tramadol, Cyclobenzaprine, Carisoprodol, or Lorazopam (ativan) or a combo work to keep me from having the withdrawls as i have a good supply of those?
I just remembered that about a year ago I was prescribed some muscle relaxers for my neck (Cyclobenzaprine). Do you guys think that if I take one or two of them when I am having a hard time sleeping from the restless legs s**t that it will help me sleep?
My neurologist just gave me some samples of Amrix, a time relased form of Cyclobenzaprine Hydrocholoride. He prescribed it for the pain and limited range of motion caused by tight neck muscles that didn't respond to stretching excersises. This is day two and I find it a remarkable improvement. I take it once a day in the evening and it seems the main sleepiness side effect is over while I sleep while the benefits remain the next day.
It was very pressure-y feeling and then had minor shooting and pinching pain in the back of the head. I went back and he gave me cyclobenzaprine and more diclo to de-tense my muscles - the combo seemed to work great for 10 days and the pressure was less, the pain was less and the pinching went away. But as soon as I was off it went away. At this point OTCs didn't help except BC Powder. I went to a neuro and had an MRI no contrast and came back clear.
Among the drugs you are taking Cymbalta causes memory loss, Pamelor, cyclobenzaprine, nortriptyline, hydrocodone and promethazine cause confusion, Tramadol causes hallucination and together all these drugs can affect your memory. You need a serious revision of your prescription. Please consult your treating doctor. Take care!
You are right, certain medications particularly muscle relaxants and antichlinergics, interfere with the results of EMG like baclofen and flexeril or cyclobenzaprine that you are taking. It would be prudent to apprise your neurologist of all the medications you are on, so that the EMG results are appreciated in that light. Muscle biopsy can be taken up after an EMG. Consult your neurologist for his preferences and expertise. Take care.
