Hi all.......Hubby had his 1st shot of Pegasis yesterday.........For genotype 3 started treatment with Pegasis once a week and ribazole 400 mg thrice a day.......Yesterday was the worst day of my life........Just 5 hours after the inject he started having chills,high fever,severe back pain,trembling.......Took brufen but didn't ease the symptoms..........He couldn't sleep whole night and woke up this morning so late.............

Just got my Pegasus and co Pegasus.Was hoping just for just the Pegasus, But there was a study that said non responders faired no better than responders on there study. Why this applies to me I do not know. I am a relapser. This cost the insurance company big money. Any Ideas? At stage 4 i have no time to wait. Have had the same issues getting into the studies. Relapser. Life can be hard at times.

your most harrowing storm story! I hope our Cysters in Ohio will join us as this storm has pummeled them! Mine was several years ago when I commuted 30 miles to work. There was an impending blizzard (MN, who'd of thought it!) but the idiot who was playing director of the Tech school I worked at would not cancel the night classes, even after I consulted my Meteorologist Bro who warned we would be hit within an hour of class time at 5PM. My brother was right, the idiot was wrong.

I have Hep C, geno type 1, went through 66 wks of Pegasis and interferon,, level went down to zero at wk 15 but levels came back after 6 wks of stopping treatment. I am thinking about getting involved with a research study with Boceprevir and Pegasis and interferon but am concerned that I may end up with the Palcebo. Any thoughts if I should just wait for the FDA approval or go ahead and do the research drugs?

Just a simple question....i know if one decides to go another round of tx if one relapses, one should switch to the "other" interferon,which for me would be the pegasus...is there a static out there statingthe difference in SVR outcomes between the two in relapsers?...

t anything to do with my thyroid can be caused by having Thyroid Storm and to top it off Thyroid Storm can be caused by having a baby which I did just 8 months ago!

Hey Doc, I had papillary cancer about 6 years ago. I just switched from synthroid to levothyroxine about a week ago, and now I'm itching like crazy! My arms and legs mostly. It's unbelievable. Is their enough of a difference between the two drugs to cause such side affects? Please help! I'm itching up a storm! And switching to levothyroxine is the ONLY thing that I have changed! Thanks!

I am 22 yr old and i have hepatitis c genome 3 and i am taking pegasus\once weekly and ribavirin since 19-6-08 my question is have i to do weekly CBC or I can do every 2weeks before the injection ?

Have you been tested for Graves Disease and/or Hashimoto's Thyroiditis? Both of these are autoimmune conditions that present with hyperthyroidism (low TSH and Free T4 and Free T3 in the upper ranges - that's assuming you had the FREE T4 and FREE T3 tested vs Total T4 and Total T3... It's not just carbimazole that can cause swelling of the thyroid or nodular enlargement. So can thyroid conditions, in general.

My treatment has started in August 2009. I had a form 3 of Hepatitis C and, unfortunately, cirrhosis. The virus load was around 320,000. However, after 4 weeks it became only 600.00; after week 12 it was undetectable. It has been continually undetectable every 2 month whenever I passed the lab tests including the recent one in September 2010. Nevertheless, doctor has extended the term of Pegasis therapy as he briefly said to prevent possible multiplying of virus.

This month, during my annual tests, doctor asked me to also take Anti HCV test with following result: POSITIVE with value 2.952 (cutoff rate: 0.150) Does it mean that: Hepatitis C has relapsed? Result just indicates that antibodies are prent.

My College refuses to close due to the nasty storm and I have to Drive in order to get to school in the heaviest the wind is gonna get. I dont wanna harm the baby though. If I do end up going and getting into an accident What is my risk of harming my baby? Are there any tips as to What I can do to make the trip there easier on me?

My husband is in week 5 of treatment. He wants to take Milk Thistle with his Pegasis/Riba. Do any of you know if it is alright to take them with your treatment. And thank you in advance for everyone's help.
