cutting zyprexa in half

Hi im not sure how long ago i decided to start cutting my klonopin in half (maybe almost a month ago) and i was tapering off xanax also anyways i starteed cutting my 0.5 mg klonopin in half and taking 1/2 every 4 hours and i ahvent felt teh best so last night i decided maybe i should go back on how it says on my bottle tot ake them 1 pill 3 times a day..so i took a whole one last night and anotehr hole one this morning and i felt so drugged out and dizzy amd jsust ill.

I realize this may sound strange but I was wondering if any of you have a "pill cutter" at home or do you just cut your pill in half with a knife? I am cutting down on the dose of my beta blocker per my Doctor and I was wondering if I have to purchase a pill cutter or can I just cut it with a knife or razor? I am a little anxious because you aren't supposed to "crush or chew" these pills and I'm afraid that if I cut it.......perhaps it will be crumbly.

I'm not sure what the doctors diagnosed your son with but mine some was being treated for bipolar & has been taking zyprex dor 3 years. He started on 15mg, gained too much weight so we went to 10mg. He also started eating in his sleep, & eating so much it was causing him to throw up...many times in his sleep also. We ended up going to 5mg, (I change it) he did fine. Not much throwing up anymore. I weaned him off completely 5 days ago , so far no withdrawals!!

t know what the price differences are for smaller dose pills but assuming the worse that they are higher in price, and that the Dr wants me to take 1/2 the dose, would cutting the pills in half have the same effect as getting 20mg pills?

Now something you should know that I found out in the process. Cutting down on this will cause you to have anxiety attacks. I found that brisk walks up the hill or whatever raises your heart rate, like walking on a treadmill for 30 to 45 min at a brisk pace gets rid of the anxiety attacks. Also, I supplemented with SAMe, Gaba, 5htp and folic acid to help during the times of complete stress. I also drank a glass of red wine to help calm me down during the anxiety attacks.

Zyprexa makes EVERYTHING taste good.My doc told me to take zantac half hour befroe eating and this will supressthe appetite. and whadda ya know it WORKS!!lol I have been on zyprexa for 7 years and it has been my miracle but I did gain weight and on top that I was hypothryoid. Now I am on synthroid9 thryoidectomy sept 06 and my metabolism is working again I have lost from 225 to 198. so it is possible tyo loose weight while on zyprexa. we just have to work a liitle harder at it.

the next few days, I have very bad insomnia and could not fall asleep at all, so I called my psy. . He said cutting it down to half a pill at 1.2 mg. should be sufficient and that I should not have any problem. After reading the comments from this forum, it seems that some are experiencing insomnia for even a low dosage so I am wondering how long the insomnia will last given the duration I have been on Zyprexa.

I was just wondering if I'm getting the right amound of thyroid meds, I'm on Armour and for the past 6 weeks or so I've been cutting my pills in half,taking half in the morning and half around 3 but sometimes I'm late taking them, will this mess with my levels? Also They just fall apart so I chew them, are they absorbing that way? and I'm just wondering when I get my labs done the 31 will I be lacking due to this method of taking my meds?

5 mg,last night i looked into my medicine bag and i was out of zyprexa,i thought that id skip one dose,so i took the rest without zyprexa,i overslept today and didnt feel like going out all day,now when i woke up all the pharmacies are closed so ill have to make do with the remaining medications without zyprexa for one night more,ill wake up at 8 30 and at 9 when the pharmacy opens should i just take zyprexa 5 mg immediately in the morning or wait till night and take it with my remaining medicat

I am on Zyprexa, Prozac, lorazepam, lunesta and trazadone. I have taken lorazepam for 9 years 1-1.5 mg prn. Dr tries to wean me down but I get sleep deprived the go into full blown mania so he then restarts it. Is it possible weaning off benzos causes mania or is this part of my disorder?

are you talking about the 5 mg percocet...i used to break mine in half but i don t know about 4ths...i think it would be safe....

I was on Zyprexa for about a year and a half and I got a few of these murmurs. I was reassured that they were harmless and because they didn't especially hurt I was satisfied with this answer. Since then I have been switching around medications like a lab rat, and most of the others have caused me significant constirnation. The best for my mind seemed to be Geodon, but then again I was only on it for about 10 days before reading that it may cause Parkinson-like symptoms.

For the 2 years, he has been on the same meds, concerta 54mg bid, welbutrin SR 150 bid, depakote 500mg in am and 1000mg in pm and zyprexa zyda 10mg, within the last 3 months methylphenidate 10mg was added to his regimen for problems his mother feels like he is having at home.

i wasnt feeling right n my partner said the smallest thing n i hit him in the face n tryed to scratch his eyes out leaving him with a ripd up face and black eye. i totally dont remember it actually happening i just felt like i got angry and passd out.. n when i came to my chest was cramping up n i was having a panic attack. ive had bipolar 1 for roughly 6/7 years but this has never happened. are anger out bursts normal? who knows.. ??

I was weaned off of a much more potent beta blocker (Coreg) by cutting it in half, then again in half. I had no problem. I used a pill cutter which did a good job of splitting the drug, but the cuts weren't perfect. I think as long as you keep some of the drug in your system, you will be just fine.

i am wondering if anyone has experienced this. did the depression cause my pain? i have not had any bad side affects on the zyprexa. in fact i have so much energy now. i tend to get into deep depression so bad i can hardly get out of bed. i have been taking the zyprexa for about 4 weeks now. the doctor put me on since my citalopram needed a boost. the med i take is vicodin. and i wanted to get off it anyway. i take 3 a day. but now i do not need them.

I got diagnosed Bipolar 1 four years ago, I'm currently twenty two. I currently take 30 mg. of zyprexa,. 1500 mg. depakote, 2 mg. benztropine, 50 mg. of risperdone, and 50 mg. testim . I have gained 70 pounds of fat. When I'm not in a mania I sleep from the zyprexa for 12 hours a night. My anxiety is so high and from all of the side affects, just to name a few I have had diarrhea for the last three years, retrograde ejaculation, weight gain, restless legs syndrome.

My son is stopping zyprexa because he said it has never helped his depression. He is on 2.5 mg a day. He went off each pill one week at a time because he gets dangerous withdrawl symptomsms. He is off a pill on friday, saturday and monday. He is still on the 2.5 mg of zyprexa on tuesday, wednesday, thursday and sunday. Which would be the next pill to get off of? The program he is on refuses to take him off the medicine now and he went to the hospital to get off it.

Hi, I'm 24 I've been diagnosed with bipolar, depression, severe anxiety and OCD. I'm taking 100mg of Zoloft (for about 8 years now) It was recently 200mg, but my Dr was going to change it, but while weaning off them I got so depressed and started having suicidal thoughts and started cutting again. I think I should go back up 200mg because I 'm still not coping well. I also take 5mg of Zyprexa daily. I feel there is something else wrong though.
