Hi im not sure how long ago i decided to start cutting my klonopin in half (maybe almost a month ago) and i was tapering off xanax also anyways i starteed cutting my 0.5 mg klonopin in half and taking 1/2 every 4 hours and i ahvent felt teh best so last night i decided maybe i should go back on how it says on my bottle tot ake them 1 pill 3 times a day..so i took a whole one last night and anotehr hole one this morning and i felt so drugged out and dizzy amd jsust ill.

I am 66 days clean off of oxy's. Here's the new problem. Since I couldn't sleep for 2 months before withdrawals, and now couldnt sleep going thru withdrawals, I asked the doctor for some kind of sleeping med. he put me on AMBIEN 10 mg's. I took it for about 2 weeks, but only cutting them in half so I was taking 5mg's a night so I could get " some sleep". Didn't want to become addicted.

t know what the price differences are for smaller dose pills but assuming the worse that they are higher in price, and that the Dr wants me to take 1/2 the dose, would cutting the pills in half have the same effect as getting 20mg pills?

Lunesta seems to work okay for me. I've only taken it three or four times (I only take it as needed and not on a nightly basis.) I was prescribed Klonopin for anxiety and sleep and she said to not take it with Lunesta (this is after I asked *her*, she didn't mention it until then.) The Klonopin seems to work as well as the Lunesta, BTW. Kevin, I've read that Lunesta and Ambien are the same "types" of sleep aids but that is all I know. I hope Ryan can clear this up for us.

not being able to sleep and the headache is a sign to me that your dose is to high, try cutting it by half.

I was just wondering if I'm getting the right amound of thyroid meds, I'm on Armour and for the past 6 weeks or so I've been cutting my pills in half,taking half in the morning and half around 3 but sometimes I'm late taking them, will this mess with my levels? Also They just fall apart so I chew them, are they absorbing that way? and I'm just wondering when I get my labs done the 31 will I be lacking due to this method of taking my meds?

Ambien is available in 5mg dosage...might be the right thing for you if you are splitting the 10mg ones in half.

I am on Zyprexa, Prozac, lorazepam, lunesta and trazadone. I have taken lorazepam for 9 years 1-1.5 mg prn. Dr tries to wean me down but I get sleep deprived the go into full blown mania so he then restarts it. Is it possible weaning off benzos causes mania or is this part of my disorder?

are you talking about the 5 mg percocet...i used to break mine in half but i don t know about 4ths...i think it would be safe....

A friend gave me lunesta once i started hallucinating from insomnia. I never to it regularly. I would wait until I started feeling wacky from lack of sleep, then when I couldn't handle it, I would take one. It helped me sleep about 6hrs, but that was a lot after sleeping 7 hrs a weeks. My sleep is still messed up after 200 and something days, but I get two blocks of 3-4 hrs now, and am able to function.

It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.

The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.

I was weaned off of a much more potent beta blocker (Coreg) by cutting it in half, then again in half. I had no problem. I used a pill cutter which did a good job of splitting the drug, but the cuts weren't perfect. I think as long as you keep some of the drug in your system, you will be just fine.

okay so I've been clean from opiates for two days. Woohoo, right? But I've been taking a lot of ambien and lunesta that I had, sometimes enough to get high. SO they arn't my drug of choice but Im still technically using right? Its just really hard for me to C/T EVERYTHING. I don't know what to do. I really don't think cutting them in half is a good idea. I would assume as Carl said that they are extended release pills that protect you from the virus for 24 hours. Drink with something like a smoothie or something thick like drinkable yogurt is helpful. Call "Gilead" and ask. Its better to get the answer to that question directly from the maker. There is a phone number in the literature that came with the medication. If not... its easy to get online.

anybody have ideas to help insomnia, i am taking melatonin and it was working during tx , but I am in the middle of my third week of tx . i have a chemically induced daze, little fatigue , muscle aches amd slight insomnia and melatonin doesnt seem to kick in , so i tale a little Ativan and it helps a little.
