cutting concerta in half

Can we try cutting my son's 54mg concerta tablet in half. He is experiencing kind of a zoned out feeling, even though he is able to concentrate, he feels strange on it. Can we try cutting it in half?

Hi im not sure how long ago i decided to start cutting my klonopin in half (maybe almost a month ago) and i was tapering off xanax also anyways i starteed cutting my 0.5 mg klonopin in half and taking 1/2 every 4 hours and i ahvent felt teh best so last night i decided maybe i should go back on how it says on my bottle tot ake them 1 pill 3 times a day..so i took a whole one last night and anotehr hole one this morning and i felt so drugged out and dizzy amd jsust ill.

I take Abilfy, Topomax, Wellbutrin and Concerta. I go to the gym 3x week and try to watch what I eat. I am always tired!!!! Any suggesstions?

t know what the price differences are for smaller dose pills but assuming the worse that they are higher in price, and that the Dr wants me to take 1/2 the dose, would cutting the pills in half have the same effect as getting 20mg pills?

I cut each in half and take each half 4 times a day a total of 40mg. Which is great, due to the fact that it is consistent throughout the day. I have been taking this for almost 2 1/2 years now. I was on 10 mg at first but after 6 months went to 20 mg 2x day. I haven't had any issues and am not used to it. When you switch from Concerta to Adderall, there should not be any lapsed time in between. You will just take the adderall instead. Hope this has helped.

that is sweet spot but a small ammount of alprazolam will overpower MPH and if it does you will need literally half bottle of Concerta, this is my experience and I say for mayority of other reports that i red in last 2 years so you are safe but take 1mg xanax more and no cleaning...

get the concerta put it in a lock box that only your sister can get into ...if he wont give her her meds she need to tell her doctor what is going on she needs her meds and he needs help.

My prescription ran out and I used a concerta my concern is if I have a urine test or hair follicle test will the methylphenidate in the concerta show up? Concerta is not my prescribed medicine.

My 10 year old 74lb daughter was diagnosed with Severe ADHD at 4... Started treating right before she turned 5. She has been on Concerta since she was 5. Started at 18 mg and ever so often had to increase. She's been on 54 mg a day for at least the past 3 years or so. Well lately we noticed It's not working as well as it once was. She also takes Focalin 10 mg in the afternoon when needed.

I was just wondering if I'm getting the right amound of thyroid meds, I'm on Armour and for the past 6 weeks or so I've been cutting my pills in half,taking half in the morning and half around 3 but sometimes I'm late taking them, will this mess with my levels? Also They just fall apart so I chew them, are they absorbing that way? and I'm just wondering when I get my labs done the 31 will I be lacking due to this method of taking my meds?

My plan is to switch to a med I can take and slowly cut the pills in half and taper off. You can’t cut the concerta since it’s extends release. Please anyone give me an idea on what I should do to get off this.

are you talking about the 5 mg percocet...i used to break mine in half but i don t know about 4ths...i think it would be safe....

now hes in 1st grade in acontained class the last 5 months have been hell for me.hes been going through physical agressive behavior in school so bad that they are making me look at diffrent schools next week because he has been suspended due to his behavior. he just started concerta the last 5 days but iv been through about a handfull of different med including bipolar medication. hes very sorry for hes behavior and will ask me mom why am i bad i wanna be good.

I was weaned off of a much more potent beta blocker (Coreg) by cutting it in half, then again in half. I had no problem. I used a pill cutter which did a good job of splitting the drug, but the cuts weren't perfect. I think as long as you keep some of the drug in your system, you will be just fine.

I have my doctor write my proscriptions for Adderall 30mg instead of 15mg and cut them in half because it saves me big bucks. I just had to explain to him that I was planning to cut them in half to save money. So now he writes for half the quantity but twice the dose. Pharmacists aren't allowed to substitute when it comes to dosage. So, you have to ask the doctor. By doing these 2 things, I now pay about $25 a month instead of $100.
