Cut singulair in half

Common Questions and Answers about Cut singulair in half

singulair

Avatar f tn 5 hours, 50% of the amount of Singulair in your body will be eliminated. If you took a 5mg dose of Singulair, within the time frames they gave, you will only have 2.5mg left in your body. 2.7-5.5 hours later, you will have 50% of THAT amount left in your body. This 50% reduction will continue until all of the medication is out of your system. I totally suck at math but maybe YOU'RE an Einstein and can figure out, from this equation, exactly when the last of the Singulair will leave your body.
Avatar n tn If your son is prescribed 5 mg of Singulair then try to get that instead of a 10 mg preparation (you can get 4 mg and 5mg chewable tablets—ask the pharmacist or the doctor about these). Usually a medication which can be broken into half and used this way to half the dose has a line break on the tablet. Usually Singulair does not have such line breaks. Instead, ask your son’s doctor whether you can use Singulair 4mg granules. Do discuss this dosing with your son’s doctor. Take care!
Avatar f tn I've had some suggestions to cut the pills in half, but I have capsules, not tablets and they cannot be cut in half. What should I do??
1059594 tn?1261323966 Isn't Opana Time Released? I know you're the doctor, but I don't think you should inform people to cut their medications in half, ESPECIALLY if they're time released as this could cause a rapid release of all the medication in turn making her more sick, or am I wrong? Avatar f tn Yes, my pill can be split in half. I don't have a pill spliter, so I am wondering if I can use a knife to cut it. I already cut it actually and it split right in half. My pill has a "divit" like a divider already so it cut very easily.
Avatar m tn It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.

Avatar m tn i was not warned of the possible side effects like so many other parents and patients. there is also some thought that singulair is being linked to suicide in teenagers. you can google suicide and singulair and watch a family's story about their son's suicide. also look up your child's medications on www.medications.com. i hope this message reaches other parents with children on singulair.
Avatar n tn I wanted to know if I can cut the pills in half. Would taking 250mg. be as effective? All the symptoms of my uti are gone. I was supposed to take the pills for 7 days and I stopped after 4 because of side effects.

Avatar f tn PLEASE HELP Let me add that she is NOT in tears because the Singulair has made her depressed, we heard all about that in the news. She is in tears because of the agony she's in because of how BAD her arms and legs feel all the time!!!!!!!!!!!! My daughter is on Singulair and just finished a short course of Prednisone. On her 4th day [last day] of Prednisone, her legs and arms started to feel very weak and heavy and numb[she said they felt "thick"].
Avatar f tn Within days of starting the regiment I began to experience random, complete numbness in my hands/arms and sometime in my feet/legs. At first I didn't think too much of it, but as it bdegan happening more often I began to question it. What really scared me was when I had blood drawn for an un-related blood test.
Avatar f tn First there was numbing and tingling in her arms. Then there were muscle aches in the lower back. BUT 4 weeks ago she started having chest tightness, heart palpitations, insomnia and fearful thoughts which of course brought on extreme anxiety. It was after 4 days of these repeated systems that she told me. I asked about work and all the usual factors that lead most to stress and anxiety. WITHOUT CONSULTING HER DOCTOR she stopped taking her Singulair. This was Saturday.
Avatar n tn after that my weezing was worst than ever and i started noticing that after i used advair my weezing was much worse. i saw this thread yesterday and now for a day and a half i havent used it and i feel alot better. i just started using sinus rinse today but i dont know if that had something to do with it also. other than sinus rinse, can you all recommend some other type of medications that i can use instead of advair that gets rid of inflamation?
Avatar n tn 2 years ago he was put on Advair disk inhaler, Singulair, and Allegra D as his regimen. After about a month he started having a problem with his legs and groin itching. He took himself off the Singulair as that is what he decided was the problem. He has gotten by with just the Advair inhaler. In the past month he's really been struggling with breathing problems.

Avatar f tn is there another medicine similar to singulair that doesn't have the bad side effects
Avatar f tn I have always had difficulty breathing in high humidity. My doctor told me that I am most likely allergic to mold, and the humidity is causing this to be worse. I have been prescribed an albuterol inhaler, and usually only have to use it about 3 weeks out of the year. Otherwise, I take Singulair year round. This year the humidity is especially high. I have had trouble breathing for over a month now.
Avatar n tn My doctor is away so I saw someone covering for him and they gave me Singulair to try as well so now I am currently doing the nasal rinses in morning and taking Claritin and Singulair. I have also tried cleaning the house better and avoiding dust(would be only allergy I can think of that would cause this). I was thinking I might be feeling a bit better but I still do have the ear issue.
Avatar n tn Hello. I have been suffering from the worst seasonal allergies in my life this year. I have itchy watery eyes, nasal congestion, and scratchy throat. I haven't been sleeping well at night for the past 3 weeks because of the nasal congestion and have been waking up with a nasty dry mouth in the morning. I have tried benadryl, claritin 24 hrs tablets, zyrtec (also 24 hr tablet), nasal spray (some kind of anticholinergic solution), Singulair and phenylephrine so far.
Avatar n tn I was taking Singulair for just 5 days for and upper respiratory cold and began having tingling and numbness in my extremities. I stopped immediately. My question is, after eliminating all other possible causes (through a number of tests including MRIs, blood work, metals testing) with my doctor, I still have numbness, tingling and burning taking place in my legs and arms for 3 months now. Has anyone experienced such long term effects? If so, what can be done if anything?
