angiogram

Avatar n tn nuclear stress test 1 week ago showed restricted blood flow. Angiogram done. One of the grafts has backed up blood which is restricting flow. Doc said may get better with exercise or stent the original blocked artery which is a 5 yr old stent on right side that is 90% blocked. Unsure what to do grafts on left side are doing great. What do u think Bill S.
Avatar n tn ) reviewed the CPT-4 codes for each study year (Table 1) to identify those that were believed to reflect the most common types of spinal injection procedures that radiologists perform, including lumbar discography (CPT-4 code 62290), cervical discography (CPT-4 code 62291), disk aspiration and/or injection (CPT-4 code 62287), epidural steroid injection (nonselective epidural injection or selective nerve root injection; CPT-4 code 62289 for lumbar injection or 62298 for cervical or thoracic injec
Avatar f tn In between the area of the PDA on the obtuse marginal and distal obtuse marginal, there was an area of infarction the saphenous vein graft to the PDA was anastomoses using running 7-0 Prolene technique. The next vein graft that was done was sequential with the same graft, brought the graft through the left side of the heart through the obtuse marginal second one which was also occluded on the cardiac catheterization. This was also performed using running 7-0 Prolene technique.
Avatar f tn - Three-vessel coronary artery disease of the native arteries with good functioning left ventricle. LIMA to LAD and saphenous vein graft to diagonal patent, presumed blockage of the radial artery graft to distal circumflex. Recommendation given to me are to continue with medical management with intensification of anti anginal treatment. In my ordinary way it feels to me that I am heading towards a slippery slope.
Avatar f tn (Just pointing out the complexity of making sure you have the correct and complete CPT code for whatever procedure you are asking about.) Good luck.
Avatar m tn I was told to call the hospital and see what the cost of use would be for the out patient surgery. My doctor gave me CPT code of 67108. I got my estamite from the hospital and it's a staggering $15,000 dollars for us just to use the room. I Googled CPT codes and one site was AMA. Both sites said $1500.00 for code 67108. Can anyone tell me what to expect the hospital to charge for this? Not for the surgery, just for the privilege of using the place.
Avatar n tn can some one tell me the code for billing static emg scanner?
Avatar f tn It refers to a procedure in which either the greater or lesser saphenous vein is tied off at it junction (either the groin or behind the knee) and the vessel pulled out via a second incision either at the knee or ankle for the greater or lower calf for the lesser saphenous vein. I see many patients giving me the history of a "stripping" where neither trunk was touched.
Avatar f tn Perhaps it is due to irritation of a nerve in the groin area called the saphenous nerve. This condition, called “saphenous neuralgia”, is sometimes seen after cath procedures. Inflammation in the area is thought to irritate the nerve and cause the symptoms of pain shooting down the thigh. Patients can experience pain along the inner aspect of the thigh and it can also extend down to the inner aspect of the knee.
Avatar f tn That sounds like a vein. We also have these in that area. Saphena varix is caused by swelling of the saphenous vein that passes through your groin. That's my guess for what is going on. It's like a varicose vein. If it sticks around and bothers you, you can do Endovenous ablation to get rid of it. Show it to your doctor at your next physical.
Avatar f tn It is usually referenced in codes, like the Current Procedural Terminology(CPT) code set is a medical code set maintained by the American Medical Association. Your primary care physician may be able to guide you appropriately, please discuss this with him. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn , the government will collect the money and you will be rewarded with a large percentage of all money collected. If there are hundreds of patients you could collect thousands of dollars.
405614 tn?1329144114 my second brain MRI had that code, but not the first brain mri or spinal MRI (the CPT code listed the same for brain and spine; may be wrong). I researched the CPT code used for my spinal MRI, and they were standard MRIs without contrast. If the first brain MRI was ordered using the not-ms protocol CPT code, and the second one used the ms protocol CPT code. Wouldn't that mean that they were done differently and weren't adequate for noting changes?
Avatar n tn After connecting one end of the vein to the coronary artery, the other end must then be connected to a source of red blood. "This is done by partially occluding a segment of the ascending aorta with a specialized, curved vascular clamp. Holes are created in the front wall of the aorta, and the veins are anchored to these openings with fine suture.
2059648 tn?1439766665 Either ask your doctor to ask your insurance company what is the allowable charge for the particular CPT code of the test that you want, or call your insurance company and ask them directly. Concurrently, you could ask what percentage of allowable the insurance company will pay, or equivalently, what will be your patient responsibility. Don't forget to take into account any annual deductible that you haven't met yet!
675347 tn?1365460645 When we would have issues such as this, we always opted for other means (sometimes less restraint, sometimes using the saphenous vein in a rear leg, sometimes using the cephalic vein if that was all we could access easily.) I don't know the whole story but it sounds like it might have been better to wait and try again on another day. I have dealt with Viszlas before and they can be a little high strung, so I can understand that she might have been a little difficult to work with.
Avatar f tn The vessel that we use for a bypass is a Vein. When we use a vein, it is usually the greater saphenous vein which is a superficial vein that your body does not miss. Unfortunately the greater saphenous vein is usually only use for bypasses of the arteries of the leg or heart because it is similar in size to those structures. It is too small to use for your aorta, iliac arteries , carotid or subclavian vessels. for those vessels we commonly use prosthetic which is very durable.
Avatar f tn Insurance companies are being bill fraudently for this tx! There is no cpt code to justify having angioplasty for the treatment of MS. Therefore, they (Doctors) are billing for tx such a rountine angioplasty and omitting the real reason for the procedure. *** Wheelchair Kamikaze has openly stated 1- that are NOT even sure he has MS. 2- could not have the liberation tx due to his atypical anatomy.
Avatar m tn Hello In July I was diagnosed with " acute occlusive thrombus in the right gastrocnemius vein " after a ultrasound of my right leg. The doctors in the ER told me that this is not a DVT, but a superficial blood clot. The order that I provided to my hematologist clearly states that " NO evidence of any acute DVT. My hematologist in his letter to my employer, described my condition as a " gastrocnemius DVT (I82.401).
Avatar n tn LIMA grafts achieve improved long-term integrity compared to saphenous vein grafts, which have a 10% incidence of closure within 60 days of CABG. However, LIMA graft failure can occur due to injury during harvesting of the graft, technical problems with the anastomosis (connecting location), poor distal runoff in the grafted native vessel, extreme mechanical “kinking” of the graft, or undetected subclavian artery stenosis (narrowing).
Avatar m tn You would think that venous insufficiency alone could of course be causing all this. Except for the fact that I feel better when up and moving around, exercising! As a rule, those with incompetent veins feel worse when exercising. I feel better! I am very frustrated with all this. Any ideas out there would be greatly appreciated.
1213000 tn?1280463161 Follow-up: the angiogram showed that all 6 of the Endeavor stents I had placed in Feb 2010 were now closed. All four of the bypass grafts are open but flow is restricted because of "some degree of graft artery mismatch that was due to large vein grafts that were available." Also, there is up to 50% narrowing in all vein grafts that may be intrinsic to the grafts and 50% narrowing downstream of the IMA graft as well as a kink in the IMA.
Avatar n tn I should think the most likely cause would be if they used the saphenous vein from his leg for a graft and damaged the saphenous nerve. The most I have ever heart from this nerve being damaged is neuralgia, which is usually resolved after a period of a year. I assume they had to open his leg for a vein during surgery? if not, I would want a very good explanation as to what they did.
