cpap

Avatar n tn Thank you for your answer. My AHI is 8.3, NREM AHI 6.6, REM AHI 14.5. Arousal Index (apnea + hypopnea only, all others zero) 2.46/hr, Sleep efficiency 60.8%, 87% nadir value O2, mean 94%. I am not severely overweight (neck 14.5") and my jaw is average size. I watched your UARS 'video' and yes to most all of the symptoms.
Avatar m tn 4 Apnea, 12 Hypoapnea/M , AHI 19, Average O2 saturation 93%, lowest 83% once, pulse h 101, low 50, avg 74 then I wore Auto CPAP s9 along with TAP3 and AHI was 0, All Apnea are gone, O2 average was 95% but lowest desaturation episode was 76%, once, pulse H 104,lowest 47 and average 72 Why does this lowest desaturation event up to 83% occur even with CPAP ? Is this a clinically significant to seek an opinion ?
Avatar n tn I've been using a CPAP machine for over a year now. I wake up several times a night - more than I did before having the machine - but often attribute it to just being uncomfortable with the mask since I generally do feel better and think that the quality of my sleep time is better. There are times, however, that I feel like I had been experiencing apneas and it makes me wonder whether the pressure is optimal.
Avatar m tn Pretty sure that I need BiPap instead of CPAP. The exhale pressure is too high on CPAP even with the EPR maxed at 3 and a setting of 7cm to 9cm. I've read that someone had anxiety on CPAP and switched to BiPap and it was fine. There are times when I feel so tired that I could faint. Has anyone had any similar crazy symptoms like this?
Avatar f tn Hi, Complex sleep apnea is actually a combination of both obstructive and central sleep apnea seen in some patients. Patients with complex sleep apnea at first appear to have obstructive sleep apnea and stop breathing 20 to 30 times per hour each night. But unlike typical obstructive sleep apnea patients, their breathing problem is not completely alleviated by a CPAP (continuous airway pressure) machine.
Avatar m tn Mi first central apnea dated from 2003. It was 1,00 AHI/hour. The Polysomnography (PSG) showed that i have alpha wave intrusion. The told me it was not an isue and i had to care for me weight, 93 kilo at that time. In 2016 i had a lot of intention to fall a sleep while driving a car. So a new polysomnography was perform, and i had now central sleep apnea at 20,7 AHI/hour and a mixed sleep disorder (not enough slow wave sleep) so i was order to a CPAP with pressure 9 cm/H2O.
Avatar m tn with sleep apnea. Did you do a follow-up sleep test (polysomnography with titration)? Or, did they actually put a CPAP mask on you during your test(s) at the laboratory? If not, you may need to see your sleep physician again and have a PSGT (Polysomnography with titration). If your problem is not "simple" obstructive sleep apnea, CPAP/BiPAP/AutoPAP, etc. may not meet your needs.
Avatar f tn I had a sleep study test done and was told I had an apnea/hypopnea index of 6.6, which is just considered mild as they say the cutoff is 5. My PCP has has now ordered another study with CPAP. My question is would the fact that I sometimes have difficulty breathing through my nose have any impact on that AHI and maybe this study with CPAP would not be necessary?
Avatar m tn What type? What are your thoughts regarding automatic titration vs. setting the titration to a constant setting? Do some people require oral devices in conjunction with CPAP treatment? Thank you for your opinion.
Avatar m tn During the in-lab titration study for CPAP, they found that CPAP use was causing central apneas to pop up as a result of the treatment, so I've been put on a BiPap now and it has been a month. Settings are right and my AHI is now below 1 on a consistent basis so far. Still feel awful. Still have the POTS-like symptoms of blood pressure going up and down, heart rate going up and down, feeling dizzy/weak sometimes, etc.
Avatar m tn I have been on auto cpap treatment for 2 weeks now and my data is good. But i cannot stay on the cpap for a whole night. I just get about 4 to 5 hours a night on it. Very difficult to get used to the mask but i am hanging in there and i am determined. I am trying to get better sleep habits.
1622896 tn?1562364967 Hi Bob How long have you had your machine mate, how often do you change the silicone face mask, how often do you clean the whole apparatus, how many hours on average per night or week do you use the CPAP machine , do you use a humidifier on the CPAP , have you had any trouble with the CPAP. I have had my CPAP machine just over 12 months I have used it for approx 1850 Hrs and used two face masks ( silicone ) I have my humidifier set at 2 no more.
Avatar m tn 37M Caucasian 5'8 150 pounds. Always been healthy and fit, no drinking, no drugs, no smoking. December 12, 2019 I was getting ready for bed about 11:00pm and my heart started racing out of nowhere, I became dizzy, faint, had trouble walking, shortness of breath and felt like I was pumped full of adrenaline. Between December 2019 and January 2020, I ended up in the ER 3 times. Elevated blood pressure as high as 173/100 that went down on its own after 4-6 hours.
Avatar f tn • With use of a CPAP or bilevel, they show a pattern of central apneas and hypopneas that meets the Centers for Medicare Services (CMS) definition of CSA Patients with CompSA may be seen as those who cannot tolerate conventional CPAP or bilevel therapy both during lab titration and at home. Neither CPAP nor bilevel therapy seems to alleviate their sleep disorders.
Avatar n tn t even know if I should bother with Cpap to try to fix my severe symptoms, as I wonder if they can even possibly be the cause of all I experience from such mild apnea? One the the doctor did tell me was that I didn't have REM sleep before, but I did after Cpap was put on. But the whole night was a fight to stay asleep, I bet I slept no more than 3 hours total. What is your opinion, do you think the Cpap could be my miracle cure with all these symptoms, but only mild apnea?
Avatar m tn one year back, I was diagnosed with sleep apnea and I am on CPAP since then and my AHI is below 5. I dont feel any breatlessness and I go to Gym atleast thrice a week My Mom had ILD and passed away few months back . I am worried and concerned if I have any PAH .
Avatar m tn Been on the CPAP for the last year. three months ago I had a septoplasty...All went well. Two weeks ago I had UPPP surgery and ever since the first night as soon as I fall asleep I start choking. Seems like even when I'm awake i can take a deep breath through my nose and feel my tonge/throat closing off. I"ve video taped myself sleeping the last few nights and it's happening about every 5 to 10 minutes. I'm choking on the inhale...
Avatar n tn Do you eat bread that contains gluten or anything else in your diet that may cause inflammation? Do you suffer from type 2 hypothyroidism which can also cause inflammation? Could you switch to more of a fruit/vegetables diet and drop some weight? Hope this stuff is helpful.....
Avatar f tn I have been having chronic fatigue for a couple of years. Past year got so bad I almost had several MVA's. Finally went in and was tested. Severe sleep apnea and PLM's (alot of them). Cpap at 10cm helped daytime fatigue and I am sleeping better but still aytime fatigue. Provagil helps but not with driving. Ritalin, adderal not helping with that yet. Still testing for Hypersomnia vs Narcolepsy. Repeat sleep study showed very little Apnea but still some PLM's.
Avatar m tn I had severe Sleep Apnea (86 AHI 3 years ago). I used CPAP for 2 years. But when i started dropping weight, i had severe bloating and my stomach was full of air, possibly because of wrong pressure setting CPAP. I had stopped using it for 3 months. I did both PSG and HST recently. PSG says i have 49 AHI and HST says i have 19 AHI. PSG say i have Central apnoea, HST says i don't have.
Avatar m tn Hello, I recently went to my GP with a 'skipping' heartbeat sensation and was subsequently given a holter monitor to monitor my heart for a 24 hour period. The results were referred to a cardiologist and I was called to outpatients for a consultation (2 weeks ago). Although the results didn't show any 'ectopic' activity, it did show a couple of periods during sleep where my heart appears to pause or stop for 3 seconds!
Avatar m tn Let me know if they find anything in your sleep studies. With my AHI at 5.3, they tried me on CPAP, which actually made my sleep apnea worse...lol.
