cpap

Avatar f tn At first the machine will make you very tired but after you get used to it it wont bother you and you will be able to get more sleep
Avatar n tn That's an unusual side effects, but not unheard of. It sounds like you're proven cause and effect. I agree with BoHager that maybe you should play around with your humidity settings. If that doesn't work, talk to your sleep doctor about trying different settings/models for your CPAP machine.
Avatar n tn They are effective for mild to moderate sleep apnea and are relatively easy to use. Side effects include soreness, nausea or some damage to the position of the jaw, and teeth. You should consult a trained dental professional that specializes in sleep apnea or orthodontist to fit these devices. A regular follow-up is needed to prevent any side effects. http://www.umm.edu/patiented/articles/what_dental_devices_used_treat_sleep_apnea_000065_9.htm http://www.helpguide.org/life/sleep_apnea.
Avatar f tn Anyone have any side effects from starting neurontin or suggestions on how to adapt to using it. It's kicking my butt so far, so only taking it at night but a bit zoozy in the mornings. Am on 300mg, have titration orders but don't want to add any more at the present until I adjust to this night dose. anyone?
Avatar n tn Initially, I was prescribed a combination of Remeron and Ativan to help me sleep. The side effects were fairly severe. I was going through my day very dizzy, and felt like I was in a dream state the whole day. I'm now taking only 30mg. of remeron and have been doing so for about two months. I'm getting some sleep, but my sleep is interrupted and I wake frequently during the night.
Avatar n tn t know the 1/2 life off the top of my head. Are you wondering because of side effects or think you may need more?
Avatar m tn Recent studies indicate that many of the metabolic and psychological abnormalities associated with GH deficiency can be reversed with GH replacement, even at low doses which are not associated with side effects. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
Avatar n tn i just went for my second sleep study to be hooked up to the cpap. the first one said i quit breathing and was breathing very shallow. once i get my new machine how long will it take to be back to 100%. i could tell the morning after that i did feel a little better and did not have a headaache.
Avatar m tn So I sleep on my side, but it would be nice to be able to sleep on my back. The side effects of the treatments I have tried so far were a heck of a lot worse than the problem. CPAP pumped so much air into my guts that my abdomen felt like a basketball each morning. The mouth appliance did awful things to my jaw joint, so that I couldn't shut my mouth normally for 90 minutes after waking up.
Avatar f tn I guess , headache is one of the side effect of using CPAP. [url=http://www.tibromedical.
Avatar n tn Hello, I'm 27 years old and have been diagnosed with mild to moderate sleep apnea. I am not overweight and I cannot stand the CPAP. My ENT said I'm a good candidate for UPPP, but from all the horror stories I read online, I opted to just have a tonsillectomy. After a couple weeks after the surgery, my sleep apnea symptoms returned. My symptoms are that I wake up gasping for air in the middle of the night. I am now seriously considering UPPP.
Avatar n tn m not sleeping any better with it than I was without it. I'm still waking up at least once per night needing to do a neb treatment. I also have fibromyalgia and PD, so I'm up several times per night due to pain, which the CPAP doesn't help. Does CPAP generally cause adverse effects in people with both asthma and VCD?
Avatar m tn Try sleeping on your side with CPAP. Otherwise, your pressure may need to be adjusted to be optimized for back-sleeping.
Avatar n tn If I try to lie on the unaffected side, it seems okay. I use the CPAP every single night through the entire night and find the mask intrusive, but the effects of CPAP extremely helpful otherwise.
5265383 tn?1669040108 I am very sensitive to meds, and don't want to google this because I don't want to know what the possible side effects of this med are ... don't want to be looking for them. But I have one thing going on, and I can't imagine that it is a side effect ... can anyone help? I take 20 mg ... and I am SO THIRSTY ... even getting up in the middle of then night for a couple of cups of water. After first pill (yesterday) I think I drank 6 cups of water between dinner and bed.
Avatar f tn Make sure that your mask fits properly and a CPAP machine that uses a heated humidifier can help relieve these side effects. A saline nasal spray at bedtime may also help. If it persists, talk to your sleep specialist for further evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
1580703 tn?1651904887 Thanks very much! Can anything be done for central apnea? Are there any side effects for the surgery?
Avatar m tn Does obstructive sleep apnea effects are different in airtight sleeping rooms like in Canada and in India where rooms are not air tight, non compliance of CPAP AND NON COMPLIANCE DENTAL APPLIANCE

612551 tn?1450022175 I get reasonable amounts of REM sleep, about 18% in tested night, and sleep on my side most of the time. He said a CPAP would be the next step in treatment, but when I suggest trying to lose weight first, he agreed that was a reasonable approach. I promised 20 pounds if 5 to 6 weeks. If I accomplish this and can say it is my perception that my apnea symptoms are gone or greatly reduced he would prescribe another at home Recording Oximeter test.
Avatar n tn When is someone in the medical community going to take the lead and start addressing issues not easily solvable by cultural practices? The side effects of sinus pressurization are real and the medical community needs educating.
Avatar m tn Was given a machine with no humidifier, which was totally useless. Once I got the humidifier added, CPAP eliminated my daytime sleepiness. I wanted to make CPAP work better, tried prescription nasal spray, still only one nostril open. Went on an elimination diet searching for food allergies/sensitivities. Bingo. Eliminated two very common foods, and both my nostrils are now wide open with no blockage. I kept getting periodic sinus infections from the CPAP.
Avatar f tn I had a sleep study earlier this year that confirmed hypoventilation at night with elevated CO2 (52%). I was placed on a cpap but have been unable to tolerate this. I cannot go to sleep with it on and if I do get to sleep, I take it off in 1-2 hrs. I was seeing someone in the sleep clinic but he moved to another state. I saw a NP who prescribed restoril but it has not helped at all. I know I need to use the cpap .
Avatar f tn The problem started for me one fine day when there was absolutely no stress in my life. I have been using CPAP after the titration study, but the sleep pattern hasn't changed. This leads me to believe something else as the cause of this fragmented sleep pattern. Any ideas?
