Cpap oxygen mask cleaner

Common Questions and Answers about Cpap oxygen mask cleaner

cpap

Avatar n tn Someetimes there are other health issues with the lungs that affect the oxygen levels and require adding oxygen to the cpap if determined there is a need. Sleep apnea certainly can cause daytime fatigue. In many cases, therapeutic cpap treatment restores one to health and vitality. In some, damage can have occured. If any doubt, a cardiac workup wouldn't hurt.
Avatar m tn I've been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. I also have major sinus problems. I've tried the bipap and cpap machines with many different mask and can't find anything I can tolerate. The mask is one thing, but the air being forced causes my sinus problems to increase by stopping up my nose which makes me breathe through my mouth which as everyone knows won't work. Does anyone have issues close to what I have or any other suggestions.
Avatar f tn Hi I've been diagnosed with mild obstructive sleep apnea and mild narcolepsy. I've got a long history of sleep paralysis and I use a cpap machine. But my sleep paralysis is getting worse. If my husband doesn't take off my cpap mask, I will stay stuck in the paralysis. So far I believe this to be for atleast 15mins as he went tto feed our son after I woke and I was stuck there until he returned and I could grunt at him. In addition, I also am practically not breathing.
Avatar m tn I have COPD and use oxygen 24/7........I seem to breath through my mouth while sleeping, so I use an oxygen mask........I can't find a mask that will stay on overnight...........I must be pulling at it while I'm asleep.........When I check my saturation levels they are sometimes 90 sometimes 86 because the oxygen has been off my face until I wake up and discover the mask off my face...........Is there a certain brand of adult O2 masks that might help me ?
Avatar m tn After 14 years on cpap I know there is a solution that can be added to the water to help with sinus related problems. When looking up a search on sinus rinse you can find countless home remedies for sinus rinse which I use on a regular basis.I have added different things to the water but have not found one to my satisfaction.I have used distilled water but have you noticed that it smells bad.
Avatar n tn ve tried to use CPAP for more than a year with no success, using full mask, nasal mask or nasal pillows with chin strap. They either keep me from falling asleep, or I can't get them easily reseated without leaks if I have to get out of bed during the night. I also have trouble keeping the headgear/chin strap in place even when it's correctly adjusted; it slips off my head. I have to over-tighten it; not only uncomfortable, but it irritates my skin. Have you tried CPAP Pro?
1767141 tn?1313678474 Does anyone continue to feel very tired and sleepy right after waking even with CPAP and/or oxygen and if so what have you done about it? My heart, lungs have been thoroughly checked out and they are fine. All other health tests are up to date and are good. I just takes me all day long to get any energy back after the terrible fight I have trying to sleep between 4 and 6 am when I finally wake up exhausted. I'm at my wit's end.
Avatar n tn If you can tolerate an oxygen cannula, you might tolerate this style. There is even a mask with prongs like an oxygen cannula that may work for you. Don't give up - it is too important for you to get this treatment. About the RLS, if it is accompanied by PLMD, your sleep may still feel bad due to it even when your CPAP is doing its job well. If you are on a dopamine agonist, they are known to sometimes have decreased effectiveness and even augmentation - a worsening of symptoms.
Avatar f tn thanks.. The tech only brought the nose mask and a nasal pad setup with no humidifier. I tried the nasal pad and it feels like a knife going in my nose.I tried nose gel and spray. Wow, I am not a baby but this hurt. I am calling tomorrow (Monday) to let them know that, first off, I too am a mouth breather, and also need a humidifier. Thank God this first machine and mask is a test of sorts for month. They were worried about this equipment costing so much without a prescription plan.
Avatar f tn My c-pap machine is a REMstarAUTO with A-Flex. It's a very good machine. I took the model with the humidifier because they air in winter is to dry not to have it. My only problem is that I have a nasal mask only and I should have get two! One nasal and a full face for when I have sinus infections (which is often with me!). I tried both but I prefer the nasal one. If you have a the chance ask if you can try diferent kind of mask before you make your choice.
Avatar f tn I can't wear the CPAP mask or the mouth piece even though I have both obstructive and central sleep apnea where my oxygen levels go down to 60%. I had a carotid artery dissection stroke about 5 years ago with continuing disabilities. I am concerned about the risk of having another stroke which has a greater chance of mortality and poorer rehab.
Avatar f tn Good morning Dr. I was just recently diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. I have already known that I have Chiari Malformation, and am pretty sure that that's why I have sleep apnea. Anyhow, I'm sure you hear from people all the time how uncomfortable the mask could be. My problem's a little more severe. If I try to use the mask, I often wake in the middle of the night because my nose becomes stuffed and I can not breathe at all.
Avatar m tn on my 2nd study with the nose mask on the oxygen mean was 92% the lowest was 76%.....just telling that part....i have no problems doping this at all..and im set at 15..and 30 min ramp..my only problem is that the full face mask and ive tried over 8 of them and on my 2nd place thats got them..i got one that fits no leaks that much..i have to put 2 bandages on my nose and this rubber square thats for people with corns on there feet to comfort my nose so it doesent rub..
4336029 tn?1352988422 It sounds like you could have sleep apnea!
1876958 tn?1321567960 My understanding is that the CPAP machine will reduce pressure in my brain because my heart does not have to pump so much to circulate oxygen. My blood oxygen level dropped significantly at night (down to 60%) during my sleep study. The expectation is that my headaches will improve not get worse. Any idea if the CPAP machine is, in fact, causing my headaches to worsen? It is possible that I am just going through a rough patch. Thanks for you help.
1218873 tn?1300091216 Welcome to the CPAP world - what you describes sounds a lot like what I had going on initially. It turned out that I didn't have the right size mask and they switched me to a smaller mask. When the mask is too big, the seal is easily broken and then you start getting all sorts of weird vibrations and actions in the mask. The chipmunk cheeks stopped for me once the mask was properly fitted. Also, the dry mouth comes from exhaling through your mouth.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea waking 23 times per hour. I've since lost somewhere around 35-40 pounds. I believe I still have apnea, but not as severe. I was completely unable to handle cpap as it induced vertigo (a problem which I have intermittently), and sharp pains in my ears. I worked with the doctor and even on the lowest settings I had problems. I tried an oral device, but I have severe TMJ and it was too painful.
Avatar f tn Oxygen is very important to both you and your baby. If you sleep doctor has prescribed a CPAP mask while sleeping I think it is essential you do so. You now have two lives to take care of, do take risks. I have mild obstructive sleep apnea and was able to get by without a CPAP by losing some weight, which opened my throat a small amount and enough I think to make the mask unnecessary. Keep in mine I am an old guy, so the only life I am taking risks with is mine.
1054090 tn?1343965695 If you can sleep with your mouth closed, a pillow system is preferred to a nose mask or a complete face mask. Unfortunately as the pressures rise, pillow systems become less effective. The only positive way to tell is to get the sleep study done. You life may depend on it!
Avatar n tn I do not understand why someone would still be having symptoms when using the CPAP machine. Isn't that supposed to cure the problem. It seems that the breathing gets worse when using the CPAP machine. I feel like I have been drugged in the morning and it takes 3 to 4 hours to get going. Prior to the sleep study, I felt great! Got up in the AM, lots of energy all day, no sleepliness, none of the symptoms that one may have with apena.
Avatar n tn My son of age 46 was diagnosed with sleep apnea several years ago but could not get use to sleeping with the cpap and mask. Now he has a very bad heart condition due to all those years of sleep apnea. Lack of oxygen to the heart. It is very important that people take apnea serious.
161427 tn?1229911282 Well I guess I should tell you, our doctor(ENT) also didnt think she had overly large tonsils or adnoids either, but when he actually got in thier to remove them, there was more than he'd thought. (the whole surgery only took 30 minutes)Also as far as cpap mask goes, my baby never would wear anything on her face either so I devised a "oxygen tent" with the oxygen tube ductaped to a funnel which I tied to her crib and hung over her head and then draped a sheet over the whole crib.
679466 tn?1247006054 However, I am having a seriously difficult time getting CPAP to work. He has me on only 6 cm pressure and I mostly struggle with the mask and wake many times because OF the mask etc. After over two months now I notice no difference in my severe afternoon tiredness or heart beat. (main two symptoms) Over 10 days I did try Ambien CR + CPAP and I did seem to notice improvement. less or no afternoon tiredness - no change in heart.
