I found a job at a church with their Mother's-Day-Out program. It's kinda like a day care mixed with preschool. It's only three days a week from 9am-2pm. They have infants to 4 year olds. I substitute there. It's a nice little job and I work almost every week. I want to be a teacher there but there's no openings for now. My favorite part about it is that my 20 month old son gets to go when I go for free. He loves it and playing with other children his age is benefiting him.

I'm going to take advantage of this change to get 30 days of real quality sleep. I'm glad that CPAP increases my likelihood of a good surgical outcome and recovery. I'm glad the next 30 days I will be at reduced risk of heart attack and stroke.

I got a hand job yesterday at a parlor. I've never had any problems in the past, but no less than 20 hours later I noticed the beginning of 2 distinct bumps. I've been on a CPAP for 2 1/2 weeks. I'm sleeping relatively well with it, 7-8 hours per night. Almost every day since I've had the CPAP I've had headaches. Now while wearing my CPAP machine air is escaping from my tear duct making a cracking type popping sound making it impossible to sleep. The surgery was very very painful with two sessions of pain lasting about four seconds.

I lost my job and had a second sleep study done before my insurance ran out and they turned the machine up in pressure. I moved out of state not long after and within a week or so I felt pain in my ear and could not use the machine anymore because the air continues to open the perforation in my ear that I believe it caused to begin with. The ear is not healing and I have no medical insurance and am in the long wait and fight for medicaid.

The best thing to do would be to wait. Obviously the baby is not ready to come out yet. Has she asked her doc to trying stripping her membranes?

I know that they are going to put me on a cpap machine. I know I would do okay with the mask that is just the two little prongs that go in your nose. However in the past when I have had surgery I have gone crazy when they have put the mask over my mouth and nose. I have always had very bad allergies and can not stand to have anything touching my nose and mouth. So I was wondering how do they determine what is the best mask for you to have?

And of course I had sleep apnea and got a cpap... I lost well over 120 lbs, am at my ideal body weight and stopped the ritalin on my own since the "sleep attacks" pretty much stopped...that was 1 year ago and I now have all of the classic adult ADHD symptoms and it's really bad. since using cpap machine started swelling in feet,ankles,hands and stomach. stopped using machine for 4 days swelling went away. started using again for 3 days swelling came back.

It started when I started a new job as a scrub tech on the cardiovascular and thoracic team in the OR. This required nightly call and weekend call, Friday night through Monday morning. I took a lot of extra call because I'm single, didn't have family, it paid great, and I loved doing it. Unfortunately this messed with my sleep schedule because I was up most nights getting called in or stayed late at work. My schedule was 630-1500, call started after 1500.

I have mild obstructive sleep apnea. PO2 only drops into mid 80's sometimes, mostly low 90's, but overnight polysomnogram says I have 13 apneic events per hour. I've tried O2 overnight (used neighbor's) and PO2 stays in the high 90's. Is that a sufficient treatment?... or do I need the positive pressure of CPAP. I've tried the CPAP and I've completely failed. Mostly keeps me from sleeping well unless I'm on Ambien.

I noticed I had gained over 6 pounds since starting CPAP. After just one night without the CPAP I dropped 3 pounds, which I believe is all fluids. My question is this: Could CPAP use cause your kidneys not to filter out fluids from your blood? When using CPAP I do not get up during the night to urinate. After one night without using CPAP I did get up to go to the bathroom, my weight dropped by 3 pounds and the pain is greatly reduced.
