Avatar n tn I just had a new generator put in my pacemaker and my hccoughing continues, i had this condition before the generator was replaced and according to the pacemaker manfacture this is a reason for the change. Why am i still having this condition?
Avatar f tn I'm having what the doctor referred to as a "generator repair" on my pacemaker next Tuesday. How long does this usually take? What other complications might be found?
Avatar n tn You could have isolated lead extraction if the generator didn't need to be changed. A lead could then be reimplanted without having to change the generator. You should discuss with the electrophysiologist who implanted the device. Hope that helps!
Avatar m tn The implantable pulse generator IPG, radiofrequency, or RF unit is usually implanted in the lower abdominal area or in the posterior superior gluteal region. It should be in a place where patients can access with their dominant hand for adjustment of their settings with the patient held remote control. Complications with spinal cord stimulator range from simple issues to paralysis, nerve injury and death. The common complications include lead migration, lead breakage and infection.
1303813 tn?1303159362 For a Laugh I just done the baby name Generator... put in both mine and my parters names... And it came up with the names We chose for both boy and girl!! I think I am magic!! Give it a try, its rather funn.. http://www. babycarecentres .co.uk/ baby-name-generator. html Take out the spaces.
Avatar f tn It's possible but it's also a delicate procedure. Changing out the unit when the battery is low is pretty straight forward. But removing the leads is not. They aren't something that can be tugged out like removing a grape stem. This is something to discuss with your cardiologist, express your concerns, fears. There must be a reason why the pacemaker was put in.
176495 tn?1301280412 ve been without power since 1145PM Thursday and it just came back on today (Saturday) around 5PM..thankfully my generator performed well and we had one nice warm room, a working fridge and happy fish with warm water in their tanks..also thanks to our battery back up sooper dooper whizbang very expensive basement water proofing system, the basement is dry as a bone...absolutely the best investment we ever made...
Avatar m tn Under local anesthesia, the incision is opened, the generator is detached from the leads and thrown away, a new generator is attached, and the incision is then closed. The replacement procedure is typically shorter and simpler than the original installation of the pacemaker. Once you are in the lab being prepped for the procedure, external pacing pads are placed...I wouldn't worry about your heart stopping. Best of luck with your procedure!
358455 tn?1277433619 hmmm...I have never heard of a middle name generator, LOL but let's see... How about Journee Renee and Harper James...
Avatar f tn Is is transvenous or AP external paced? It should be a while before a need a generator change. I know though.. the more work the pacer does, the quicker I will go through the batteries. What was put in as a back-up pacer has taken over 80% of the overall pacing. It has been the highlight of 2008. I am thinking of a next procedure if possible to removed the other 20% from my heart and hopefully not have to take the flecainide, diltiazem, coreg, lisinopril... anymore.

332074 tn?1229560525 I know that they are going to put me on a cpap machine. I know I would do okay with the mask that is just the two little prongs that go in your nose. However in the past when I have had surgery I have gone crazy when they have put the mask over my mouth and nose. I have always had very bad allergies and can not stand to have anything touching my nose and mouth. So I was wondering how do they determine what is the best mask for you to have?
Avatar n tn My wife uses a cpap machine with moisture every night. She has had two bouts with pneumonia this winter which she never had before using the cpap machine. Questions: Can breathing in excess moist air into the lungs by means of the cpap machine overload the lungs with moisture and cause problems?
Avatar f tn Shhhhhhh - your brain and body are listening. Give yourself some positive self talk, such as... I can do ANYTHING for just 30 days. Sleeping in my own home and bed will be nothing like in that lab. I'm going to take advantage of this change to get 30 days of real quality sleep. I'm glad that CPAP increases my likelihood of a good surgical outcome and recovery. I'm glad the next 30 days I will be at reduced risk of heart attack and stroke.
Avatar n tn baby name generator and that might help. Just an idea....
Avatar n tn since using cpap machine started swelling in feet, ankles, hands and stomach. stopped using machine for 4 days swelling went away. started using again for 3 days swelling came back.
Avatar f tn A Sophia Arabella is a beautiful name! It makes her sound like a little princess. If you're set on Grace or Gracie as the first name, what may work is to use Gracie, because it's another syllable to add...what would you call it...I guess you could say flavor to the name if you will. To make it sweeter and flow and have all the parts work together like in a recipe you could say. And a longer middle name may work with it or not, it depends on your personal likes.
Avatar m tn Spinal cord stimulation (SCS), in the simplest form, consists of stimulating electrodes, implanted in the epidural space, an electrical pulse generator, implanted in the lower abdominal area or gluteal region, conducting wires connecting the electrodes to the generator, and the generator remote control. SCS has notable analgesic properties and, at the present, is used mostly in the treatment of failed back surgery syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome and refractory pain due to ischemia.
1990530 tn?1333478843 I'm going to start using this "Lotus pro solutions" ozone generator. It ends the need for chemical cleaning products. Its cleans pesticides and contamination from food, and you can drink it for healing affects. I have even heard that they can help people with cancer and other such diseases. I'm excited to see if it will help With HepC. I know it will help for sure when I reach the point of low blood counts and compromised immune system.
Avatar n tn can I keep my leads stay intact, with the high-voltage lead in my right ventricle simply being used as a second pacemaker lead? Obviously I'm hoping I won't need a new lead, & am trying to avoid an added lead in the vein or (ouch) extracting & replacing the RV lead. I've looked & looked and read about generator changes, but can't find this, and I'm not scheduled to see an EP for a looong time.
Avatar m tn ve lived my life in a state of exhaustion, until use of my cpap machine, and that has often caused very bad seizures. Without my cpap machine, I don't think I'd be here making this post.
Avatar m tn I noticed I had gained over 6 pounds since starting CPAP. After just one night without the CPAP I dropped 3 pounds, which I believe is all fluids. My question is this: Could CPAP use cause your kidneys not to filter out fluids from your blood? When using CPAP I do not get up during the night to urinate. After one night without using CPAP I did get up to go to the bathroom, my weight dropped by 3 pounds and the pain is greatly reduced.
Avatar n tn I have been using a CPAP machine for almost 3 months. From the night I used it I did not wake to go to the bathroom during the night. Although this was nice, I developed a problem immediately (from the first night) with swelling in my legs (calves, ankles, feet) and in my hands. I did NOT mention it to the sleep doctor because It was a month until my follow-up appointment and I never saw it listed as a side effect of CPAP therapy in materials I read.
Avatar f tn I had to discontinue using my cpap, due to chronic lung infections. Changing the tubing, keeping it spotless, did not help prevent infection for me. Stopping the cpap treatment, is the only thing that prevented the chronic lung infections...and I always used the humitifer, which never helped prevent any infection... I regret ever having the sleep study and I regret what all the money and time it cost me, and the suffering of 3 years of lung infections...I am so done using the cpap treatment!
