cpap

Avatar m tn Inadequately controlled sleep apneas can cause hypertension and other complications. If you are having problems with CPAP therapy then discuss with your doctor for Bi PAP therapy. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP. I've noticed that in the morning when I wake up that I'm very bloated. Is it possible that I'm swallowing air from the CPAP? It's not gas. Also, I'm still soooooooooo tired when I wake up.
967168 tn?1477584489 Since some of us here have sleep problems, I'm posting here as asked by Dr. Steven park - Please distribute my post as widely as you can. This is an important topic that needs much more attention, especially if you have a sleep-breathing disorder. http://www.medhelp.
1580703 tn?1651904887 Dear Doctor, thanks very much for your help!!!! I had trach surgery and am in pain, bleeding and exhausted, light-headed after the surgery. I'm a large person and and I was given a shiley 6 which is too small and percocet. is that normal to be so tired?
Avatar m tn This machine dries up the eyes and nasal passages which causes irritation, burning and sneezing. However pulmonary fibrosis cannot be due to CPAP use. Alternatively uses of CPAP mask in pulmonary fibrosis can cause claustrophobia like symptoms. Lung scarring occurs due to pathological deposition of fibrous tissue. This is a progressive disease usually and hence needs frequent periodic monitoring.
Avatar f tn Anyway should i not be wearing ear plugs using a cpap? And or should i discontinue the cpap until the ear infection is gone? Or is maybe the machine just set entirely too high? Like i said the machine forces me to sleep in minutes and also for the duration of the ear infection i wont wear ear plugs. Would this cpap issue have the ability to be fatal?
Avatar f tn I've been on a CPAP for 2 1/2 weeks. I'm sleeping relatively well with it, 7-8 hours per night. Almost every day since I've had the CPAP I've had headaches. The headaches don't start when I get up, but rather a few hours later in the day. Earlier this week I saw my doctor for a check up and told him about these headaches, and he said they were real and probably caused by pressure on the brain.
Avatar n tn In most cases this resolves nasal congestion and irritation if it is caused by CPAP. CPAP machines can cause air in the stomach-gas and bloating. Sleeping with head aligned with the body helps. If you want a raised head then the head end of the bed should be raised. Pillows should be kept to the minimum. Lowering the CPAP pressure can help but do not do this without consulting your sleep specialist. Switching over to bilevel pressure or C-Flex may help you too. So ask your specialist about it.
569790 tn?1219256470 Not related to meals, eating or not eating. just comes on. I am on CPAP, so wonder about air swallowing, but have been on CPAP for 4 years. Very scarey and uncomfortable. Frustrated, doctor last year sent me to GI specialist who could not find anything. Now I have it back. On metamucil for chronic constipation, irrltable bowel syndrome, but why all of the sudden stomach is rock hard for days. Sleep interrupted, clothes don't fit. I do not drink.
Avatar f tn The ventilator can still be doing the breathing for a patient if cpap is on or not. It is common for cpap to be used in both situations because it simply means the pressure of the given air is above room pressure, forcing the airways open more.
Avatar n tn i just went for my second sleep study to be hooked up to the cpap. the first one said i quit breathing and was breathing very shallow. once i get my new machine how long will it take to be back to 100%. i could tell the morning after that i did feel a little better and did not have a headaache.
Avatar m tn Ask for some adjustment in the machine to overcome this. CPAP machines can also cause air in the stomach-gas and bloating. Lowering the CPAP pressure can help but do not do this without consulting your sleep specialist. Switching over to bilevel pressure or C-Flex may help you too. However, nothing should be tried without consulting the specialist. If nausea is not related to CPAP machine, then other causes will have to be looked into. Commonest cause of nausea is acidity.
Avatar n tn My wife uses a cpap machine with moisture every night. She has had two bouts with pneumonia this winter which she never had before using the cpap machine. Questions: Can breathing in excess moist air into the lungs by means of the cpap machine overload the lungs with moisture and cause problems?
572651 tn?1530999357 Park, Tonight I was talking with Shadowsister and she is having trouble with nighttime sleeping - she is having MS spasm problems with her tracheotomy and the tube has become clogged and has also been ejected by the spasms. This is the first these problems have happened in the approx. 20 years she has had a trach. Sleep is worrisome to her because of this problem, and she mentioned that she was going to ask her doctor for a CPAP machine to use to help keep her airway open.
Avatar n tn Can CPAP air entering through the nose pass up the tear ducts and exit the lacrimal punctum between the closed eyelids and the cornea/conjunctiva when sleeping? If this is the case, is there risk of long term damage to the lacrymal system and persistent tearing? My mask fits well, and my CPAP pressure is nominal (8.2), but every morning my eyes are invariably red and itchy, and the lids are a bit swollen.
Avatar m tn I've been diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea. I also have major sinus problems. I've tried the bipap and cpap machines with many different mask and can't find anything I can tolerate. The mask is one thing, but the air being forced causes my sinus problems to increase by stopping up my nose which makes me breathe through my mouth which as everyone knows won't work. Does anyone have issues close to what I have or any other suggestions.
Avatar f tn I got on the internet to see if others were having the same problems. Puffy eyes and swollen feet are very noticeable since using CPAP. I have my settings on high Humidity level during the winter. I hope to see the spectrum go the other way during during the Summer. Desert regions of the Northwest make very dry conditions. I do not want to start diuretics since I have been on the other end of the elimination problems for some time and have stopped using the medication.
1611319 tn?1378618399 I am wondering if CPAP or Oxygen level is making me worse? or has CPAP played a part in the cause from the beginning. My Respiratory Doctor is also an ER doctor and has not been in his office, I have to wait till June 4th for resluts and a Game Plane! I have considered going to ER just to see him. Or City is short on these doctors and one has been having health issues himself and is out. So I cannot go to another. These are my most recent labs including thyroid stuff.
Avatar n tn I avoided spicy foods and food that causes gas. I took Gas-Ex from time to time when the gas pain was severe. I took Pepto Bismol when I had diarrhea and cramping. I also took over the counter acid reducers for heartburn. My recommendation is to ask for a referral right away to a gynecologist and find out what other tests should be completed to further evaluate and treat the cyst.
Avatar f tn Anyone else have gas problems! Its awful no matter what I eat! Lol its embarrassing!
