Common Questions and Answers about Cpap for sale

cpap

Avatar f tn Using a mouth piece will not help, unless, you have MILD apnea. It takes awhile to get used to wearing a CPAP mask for some people. I always suggest to my patients that are having a difficult time, to wear it during the day (while watching TV) to help your body get used to it. Give yourself atleast 2 months to get used to it. Don't give up so quickly..It's your health!
1307298 tn?1305946851 I'm interested in reading any responses on Provent use. I've read discussions about it on another forum, but not from anyone who had used it. I would want with any treatment to have a sleep study while using it to confirm it is indeed effective. Is there anything in particular about your CPAP giving you a problem, or just in general? I've been using CPAP about 5 years. Can't say I'd never consider another form of treatment, just would have to know for sure it was working.
Avatar f tn I agree that there are likely things he can do to make his CPAP experience less bothersome. While the surgeries available must help some people, knowing if you (or your husband) will be one of the successes is an educated guess if he has a good doctor, a crap shoot if he doesn't. Some do go on to need CPAP anyhow.
Avatar n tn I have been using a CPAP machine for almost 3 months. From the night I used it I did not wake to go to the bathroom during the night. Although this was nice, I developed a problem immediately (from the first night) with swelling in my legs (calves, ankles, feet) and in my hands. I did NOT mention it to the sleep doctor because It was a month until my follow-up appointment and I never saw it listed as a side effect of CPAP therapy in materials I read.

Avatar f tn This led the authors of the study to conclude that edema may be caused by OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) itself, rather than by CPAP usage. If you would like to see the study for yourself, you can find the journal article here: http://www.sleep-journal.com/article/S1389-9457(04)00116-9/abstract?cc=y You many want to call your sleep doctor/pulmonologist to describe these symptoms you're having and get their opinion on the best way to treat the swelling.
Avatar f tn After a sleep study my ENT doc says that I have moderate sleep apnea which needs to be addressed. I have used a cpap machine in the past with poor results. This doc wants to take out my tonsils, "shave my palate", and perform a septoplasty to fix the left side of my nose. This sounds like a lot of painful procedures to be done at one time, but he said that he will keep me in the hospital at least one night and up to three if needed.
Avatar f tn I think not getting enough oxygen in my body is what is causing me the most problems right down to digestion. I use a cpap and also have the mouth appliance. CPAP works best for me but simply not enough. Any responses would be appreciated. Thanks!
Avatar n tn m reconsidering continuing to take Trazodone now that I have a CPAP and am hoping that maybe with CPAP I can learn to sleep without medication and the dry mouth due to this medication will go away.

880023 tn?1241744504 I mostly completed my shopping list for the baby, except the travel system. I was wondering, if it worth waiting for the Thanksgiving sale to get it. I never really paid attention if they ever have anything like that on sale for Thanksgiving, but would assume stores like babiesrus would offer some sale. Anyone had experience with it?
Avatar n tn Your situation is a little unusual, but if keeping your window open or using a fan keeps you feeling better, then as long as there's no harm, keep doing it. Is your CPAP working? Are all your compliance data at optimal levels?
Avatar f tn My husband uses a CPAP machine and for 5 years was very compliant. He began having trouble with the mask cutting into the bridge of nose. He has tried different masks, nasal pillows; I think everything that is available. He cannot get a good seal with any of them except the one taht cuts into his nose. Bandaids have not worked. Does anyone have a suggestion to protect his skin without compromising the seal. We would greatly appreciate any input.
Avatar m tn It really depends on what's causing your nasal congestion. I have a wealth of resources on my website (http://doctorstevenpark.com), as well as articles on nasal congestion on ezinearticles.com. You can just search for my name.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with moderate sleep apnea waking 23 times per hour. I've since lost somewhere around 35-40 pounds. I believe I still have apnea, but not as severe. I was completely unable to handle cpap as it induced vertigo (a problem which I have intermittently), and sharp pains in my ears. I worked with the doctor and even on the lowest settings I had problems. I tried an oral device, but I have severe TMJ and it was too painful.
956292 tn?1334054869 Hi, To answer your question: No I haven't heard of the sleep study for MS. My MS specialist and neurologist KNOW I experience pretty severe fatigue and they never once mentioned to have a sleep study done. (they don't know I had a sleep study or that I use the CPAP) forgot to mention it to them... I had a sleep study done back in April, before my MS symptoms began...(I was dx with asthma.... the pulmonologist asked if I had fatigue or did I snore..
Avatar n tn Thank you a lot for the answer. The CPAP is been used now for 17 days. Doctors said that they will apply the Tracheotomy (temporarily) if my father's respiratory function is not fully improved.

In Santa Ana, California, and some other cities, nonviolent offenders can pay for a clean, quiet jail cell, without any non-paying prisoners to disturb them. • Access to the carpool lane while driving solo: $8. Minneapolis, San Diego, Houston, Seattle, and other cities have sought to ease traffic congestion by letting solo drivers pay to drive in carpool lanes, at rates that vary according to traffic.

Avatar f tn Thanks for the comments and words of encouragement. My first night on cpap I slept for 1 hr. I was 45minutes late for work and had to park in the pricey parking lot because all the free street parking was taken:( For the 2 night, I had a nightcap but still could not sleep with the cpap on. I turn the machine off after my 6 hrs. and slept for about 2hrs. I barely made it to work on time the 2 day and I found my usual free parking:) I slept @ my lunch hour today.
Avatar n tn i just went for my second sleep study to be hooked up to the cpap. the first one said i quit breathing and was breathing very shallow. once i get my new machine how long will it take to be back to 100%. i could tell the morning after that i did feel a little better and did not have a headaache.
332074 tn?1229560525 I know that they are going to put me on a cpap machine. I know I would do okay with the mask that is just the two little prongs that go in your nose. However in the past when I have had surgery I have gone crazy when they have put the mask over my mouth and nose. I have always had very bad allergies and can not stand to have anything touching my nose and mouth. So I was wondering how do they determine what is the best mask for you to have?
Avatar f tn Thank you for the information about the cpap machine with the supplemental oxygen. I, too, had the problem with the pressure of the machine and simply could not tolerate it. I haven't had a sleep study in several years, but during my last one they did tell me I had apnea (at that time my o2 levels stayed right around where yours are - mid to upper 80s) so they didn't feel I needed any intervention at that time.

Avatar n tn My wife uses a cpap machine with moisture every night. She has had two bouts with pneumonia this winter which she never had before using the cpap machine. Questions: Can breathing in excess moist air into the lungs by means of the cpap machine overload the lungs with moisture and cause problems?
