Avatar f tn Hi Lulu - still lurking around - and yes I go to the U of Rochester (NY) ms center - and have found the docs there to be very good. This clinic is at Strong Memorial Hospital - and is affiliated with the University of Rochester - which has an excellent medical school. I am currently working with Dr Matthew Bellizzi -(great doc - and very kind) still gray are patient - I have not been to the MS upstate clinic in Syracuse even though I live in Syracuse.
Avatar n tn The rules may be different in your state, but in NY, it's perfectly acceptable to request a CPAP prescription from your sleep doctor so you can order it on your own, from where ever you wish.
Avatar f tn I'm from Rochester, NY.
Avatar f tn Syracuse NY? I live about 2 hours from you! Do you have issues with your family? Are they not supportive? If so, and it avoids stress, unneeded drama, then go ahead and do it. Are you planning on telling them once you get there? Or not telling them at all?
Avatar n tn From Syracuse ny but lives in Dallas tx and April 16th:)

514349 tn?1272801633 I have other sleep problems, but I have not yet had to go to a CPAP. I understand if I wish to go to a CPAP my doctor requires I do another overnight in hospital (or other sleep study center) CPAP test to determine the best "settings" for me. So far I am CPAP free.
5466288 tn?1410485185 Thanks for replying.I was afraid that would be the answer.I do have sleep apnea, but due to moving and needing new mask and other equipment,I haven't been using my CPAP.
Avatar m tn coughing, sinus drainage), and you are using a CPAP/BiPAP machine then yes, it can be related if your not keeping your equipment clean. it can also cause headaches/migraines.
1524673 tn?1327841500 He was tested at University Hospital in Syracuse NY. Excellent doctor. Hope he will do a re-avail. Happy New Year to YOU.
Avatar f tn Also, I am having a machine delivered and set up by a tech in 2 days. Which machine is easiest to handle. I have heard horror stories about CPAP. The main problem was the fact that the air is blowing back at your nose when trying to exhale. Can't this be adjusted. Help me to know what to expect and which machine is best.
967168 tn?1477584489 ll leave the technicalities to someone else, but in general untreated apnea is not good for the heart, or any other part of your body. Whoever provided your cpap equipment should see you through whatever it takes to be successful if you keep going back to them. There are web sites dedicated to helping others with adjusting to cpap. Just sounds like your heart doesn't need the stress of sleep apnea, whether it is causing the problems or not.
Avatar n tn I have tried reaching out to my biological parents to obtain additional information, but to no avail. I was born in Syracuse NY at Crouse Hospital in May of 1988. I tend to get pneumonia every winter. Randomly I also stabbing chest pains at times that will stop me in my tracks. If I raise my arms above my head and try to take shallow breaths until I can finally gain a deep breath without the stabbing pain. The pains are random and have not happened for a few years until recently.
