Cpap chest pain

Common Questions and Answers about Cpap chest pain

cpap

Avatar m tn If I skip a night the soreness is gone the next morning. The past couple nights by three AM the soreness/pain is bothering me enough that I put the CPAP aside for the rest of the night. What I would like to know whether this is normal adn whether it will disappear with time or should I be concerned about it and cease using the CPCP. I spoke with the folks at the store where I got the machine and they say that they have not heard of issues like this.
721511 tn?1230593710 Muscular pain when first using CPAP has been reported by some, Others report chest and back pain from air going into the digestive system. CPAP should not cause pain, shortness of breath, and dizziness during the daytime. Maybe you should talk to your doctor about checking your respiratory and cardiac function. I kept getting symptoms assumed to be cardiac and turned out to be respiratory related with decreased lung function. Good luck on finding answers.
608104 tn?1352587153 The cardiac tests recently have been ok. I think part of the chest pain is rib cage pain. I am now using an Auto-pap. My insurance company is paying rental fees and doctor visit fees because this equipment is not helping. I can't risk sleep apnea, but I want a decent night's sleep!
Avatar f tn Any other symptoms that dont seem related? Chronic headaches, eye pain, stabbing sensations, ankles and feet hurt, muscle and joint pain that moves around, sensativaties to light, sound, smell? "brain fog", vertigo, fatigue, sometimes feel like you are going to throw up? Sore throat, heart "skips" occasionally, chest pain, and do you have some "good" days and some "bad" days and does it seem cyclical? .
Avatar n tn I have been taking Imdur and it has helped with the chest pressure and pain a lot, but I still get very short of breath and have extreme exhaustion with activities such as mowing my yard, walking briskly, etc. I have been diagnosed with hypopnea with O2 in the 74% range a couple of years ago and have been using my CPAP faithfully. My question is could the pulmonary hypertension just now beginning to progress? Thanks in advance.
1173253 tn?1263496613 I am not sleeping as I keep taking off the CPAP to blow my nose or to cough. Could I be allergic to the CPAP, or the dirt or germs in the tubing, or to the air that is sucked in thru the CPAP? No matter how good I feel in the day.....I get worse at night? Help Please.
Avatar m tn ve lived my life in a state of exhaustion, until use of my cpap machine, and that has often caused very bad seizures. Without my cpap machine, I don't think I'd be here making this post.
Avatar f tn Would like to add that I have significant leg swelling, fatigue, tiredness, and often feel pressure in my chest and occasional pain. Thank you.
Avatar m tn Even when I was at normal weight, I still snored quite loudly. My kids made comments that they could hear me on the other side of the house with the door shut. Didn't have a sleep study until 3 years ago. I will have to have my friend and buddy "Snorf" for the rest of my life. Yes, CPAP is a pain in the butt...but it beats congestive heart failure, stroke, heart attack, pulmonary hypertension, high blood pressure and death.
Avatar f tn I am 53. I was diagnosed with sleep apnea 6 years ago and had my last sleep study in October. They tell me this is not sleep apnea. I have a new CPAP which I had checked to make sure it was operating correctly. Prior to the first of the year, my CPAP seemed to be controlling all symptoms I thought attributable to sleep apnea. I had no fatigue, headaches, etc. Most of my symptoms have developed since around Christmas.
Avatar f tn But I do sometimes still have chest pain and numbness at night, which the glutin free diet dosent seem to help, however a low dose asprine and deep breathing seems to help, mostly I have thease symptoms when im feeling stressed.
Avatar f tn I am a 44 yr old female with dx of mitochondrial myopathy with resp. muscle weakness. My doctor ordered a CT Chest and I also had a muga scan.My DLCO is 62% and PFT"S show a restrictive pattern. My MIP and MEP are 18% and 21%. I had a sleep study that showed hypoventilation and elevated CO2. I was given a CPAP but am unable to tolerate it even after different masks etc. I do have a lot of shortness of breath with exertion and experience a lot of air hunger at night.
Avatar n tn I am 29 y.o female. I have been having chest pain that only occurs at night time for the past few months. It is increasingly getting more painful, tight, pulling, short breaths, radiating pain constant all night. Gurgling and gas movement sounds on that side at same time. Recent CT scan found Cebum (fatty tissue in Colon) and still awaiting a G.I. specialist appt. However this is Left Chest Pain, in Breast. medical history: dx w/ lymphoma at 21, cured 6 years.
Avatar n tn I am concerned because I have uncomfortable (left sife chest pain - I think it is actually the heart muscle) and upper back pain. I cannot explain the pain. i wish I could give an accurate description of what it feels like but I cannot. I know it is not normal. My question is if everythign came abck normal then why am I having these chest and back pain? Should I insist on another type of CAT scan or MRI to look more closely at the coronary arteries? How accurate is a nuclear stress test?
Avatar f tn OMGOSH....CPAP in recent yrs caused my sinus cavities and upper chest to be irritated, cause sinus issues, sinus cavities headaches and make me feel like crap. I've gone to the pulmonary doctor to discuss my situation and they have never heard of it...right! :(......I know I'm not the only one! I feel it IS a BIG MONEY SCAM.
Avatar n tn But I do experience some occasional pains that feel like chest pains. I have also had a chest x ray, blood tests measuring all enzymes, urinanalis, etc. All came back fine. Now I feel like I am experiencing brain fog, with some dizziness and headaches and have severe nighttime anxiety, and panic attacks. I even had a night where I experienced cold chills and shaking. I am desperate to find a way to go from here. Do you have any idea what might be causing this?
1580703 tn?1651904887 is cpap the only treatment for sleep apnea? are there meds like diamox that help?
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with sleep apnea 4 years ago, and since then have used a CPAP S8 model everynight. I have noticed over the last year that i am suffering from aerophagia, caused by the CPAP. While i may have bloating, tummy pains and rumbling of gas moving in my intestines etc, i have also been diagnosed with high protein in the urine, doctors say is caused by damage to the kidney, letting more albumin out than usual. They attribute this damage to the high blood pressure i am suffering.
1611319 tn?1378618399 I am wondering if CPAP or Oxygen level is making me worse? or has CPAP played a part in the cause from the beginning. My Respiratory Doctor is also an ER doctor and has not been in his office, I have to wait till June 4th for resluts and a Game Plane! I have considered going to ER just to see him. Or City is short on these doctors and one has been having health issues himself and is out. So I cannot go to another. These are my most recent labs including thyroid stuff.
Avatar n tn CT scan of the chest was negative, echo negative for pulmonary hypertension. I am frightened not to use my CPAP due to the confusion, yet the choking is horrible too. Is there a disorder of the bronchi that can be causing this? I only have the mucous when I use the CPAP.
Avatar m tn I am a 32 year old male diagnosed with sleep apnea, so I was given an auto-pressure CPAP machine. Just as soon as I started using the machine it felt like I was struggling to exhale. The sleep company representitive said that the machine starts out using the lowest possible pressure, so I shouldn't be having a problem. I tried to use the machine for a couple of hours and I had the sensation that I had to take off the machine and struggle for breath, as I can't seem to exhale.
Avatar n tn He has seen his FNP twice and flu swap and chest xray are negative. He started with a bad cough. I worry that he will be unable to keep his Blood suger under control and will get too dehydrated dispited trying to drink enough water. He wo;t go to the ER and he doesn't like Gaterade type drinks. Could he have Whooping cough or a fungal infection because he does not clean his CPAP all the time?
Avatar n tn I have severe asthma AND VCD. I was recently started on CPAP for a mild case of sleep apnea. I hate it! I can't breathe with the machine on and it gives me headaches. I'm not sleeping any better with it than I was without it. I'm still waking up at least once per night needing to do a neb treatment. I also have fibromyalgia and PD, so I'm up several times per night due to pain, which the CPAP doesn't help.
Avatar f tn I've been using a cpap machine for over a year but recently I've been waking with severe lung ache !! its almost like I'm winded i can hardly move with the pain I'm worried this might b a side affect to the pressure on my machine being to high ...
Avatar f tn I am a 52 year old female who has just been notified that she has sclerosis of the heart valves. I had a echo stress test as a result of sudden, severe chest pain which took me to the ER. I have been experiencing shortness of breath upon movement for some time, but have begun to feel short of breath and chest discomfort / pain lying down at night. It is severe enough to keep me awake. I sleep nearly sitting up propped on 2 pillows, but am still very uncomfortable.
Avatar m tn I started using CPAP therapy December 7th. I started having problems within a week. I have severe pain in all of my joints, but especially in my hands, shoulders, hips and knees. They all feel very swollen. Each morning the problem is worse and during the day improves somewhat. I stopped using the machine and after one day the pain is reduced considerably. I also weigh myself every morning. I noticed I had gained over 6 pounds since starting CPAP.
