I notice that the Express Script drug I now use is made by Apotex whereas the original Walgreen brand was Cozaar. I went back to Walgreens and asked the pharmacist if there was any chance that the Apotex was inferior/impotent to the Cozaar for some reason. She assured me that could not be the case and that there could be no difference. Losartan is Losartan is Losartan.
As an experiment(with GP consensus), I doubled my dose of Apotex Losartan from 50 to 100 mg a day for one week.
Genetic's doctor spoke of two beta blocking drugs for 'aorta root dilatation'. Atenalo and Cozaar. In reading about these in pill book, I already suffer from cold spots in the extremities, kidney problems at times and several of the other nasty's listed as side effects, etc. Have a hard time keeping weight on me[130 lbs -5' 5 1/2"], low body temperature [97]. Blood pressure today-108 / 60.
t lose the weight. Weight lifting makes me very hungry. I switched to a low fat diet with lots of fruit and whole grains and I lost about 3 lbs lbs woop de do. Keep trying different things. Weight loss will definitely help and diet and excercise will as well but most people can't be consistent with diet and excercise.
I've been taking cozaar 100mg and amiloretic for 3 months I have stopped it for 4 days now my feet ankles are swollen and I have mild headaches
My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic.
I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?
I think after this month, that will be 3 months on losartin(cozaar), I will see how my blood work is then add vasotec to the cozaar wait 3 months check my blood work and make a decision on dropping cozaar for vasotec.
It was first published as far as I can see that losartan reduces fibrosis in 2000, that sure seems much to long a time lag between discovery and clinical use and I'm sure it is that way across medicine.
I opted for the RAI (3 months ago) and I take cozaar (6 months now) and in these last 3 weeks I am suffering from muscle fatigue, muscle cramps if I stretch them too quickly or exercise them. Could the cozaar be causing the problem or is the disease the problem or both?

Weight gain - 250 (yuck) up about 20 lbs or so... Diarrhea (we ARE sharing aren't we :)... massive joint pain, especially hands, knees & back... muscle weakness... constant headache...racing heartbeat...trouble breathing...memory glitches... concentration issues.. no energy...insomnia... exhaustion...(I know it makes no sense... I am tired, but can't sleep - unless I take Ambien)

I tried to talk to my husbands P.A. about Losartan (Cozaar) and she just kind of blew me off. If we actually got to see the Dr., he would probably discuss it with us but she doesn't even want to hear about it. Joe has esophageal varicies and Nadolol is what they think is best. I read a study that showed an increase in platelets and albumin levels and subjects with liver disease. I will be watching the news on this.
There are studies going on at Johns Hopkins concerning cozaar to see if it can stop or reverse the growth of aortas, which it has done in mice. My son has taken Cozaar and his beta blocker for three years and his aorta has not grown wider...so this is good news!
I'm a 62 yr. old male. I also do distance running. I had double by-pass surgery last May. My main artery had 65% blockage and my EF was 30-35 at time. I also have asthma which I thought was my problem at time since my breathing was getting worse. My EF is now near 50. Should I still be experiencing shortness of breath from heart problem? Know my max heart rate when exercising should be around 165 for my age. Where should it be when I'm running or lifting weights?
t know this doctor very well as mine has retired, and he is aware of my medical history obviously, and my struggle with weight loss as well as my attempt to keep my diet as healthy as I can (despite occasionally messing up from time to time due to lethargy, stress from work and genuine hunger...)

Well I'm 7 months that means I'm 27 weeks and I have only gain 1 pound my midwife said it was OK 4 me to not gain weight bcz I'm over weight so u girls tell me it seems like I won't have to do a lot of weight loss. How far are u nd how much you gain?

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I'm 36weeks pregnant and since my last doctors appointment I haven't gained any weight. I didn't gain weight in the 1st trimester due 2 sickness, but in the 3rd I've been pretty steady with my weight gain...at the very least a poun a week. And now it's been almost 2 weeks and still no weight gain. Could that mean anything? Or is it just normal? Thanks in advance!
