I opted for the RAI (3 months ago) and I take cozaar (6 months now) and in these last 3 weeks I am suffering from muscle fatigue, muscle cramps if I stretch them too quickly or exercise them. Could the cozaar be causing the problem or is the disease the problem or both?
My son has Marfan Syndrome and has to see a cardiologist once a year to have an echo test. He takes a beta blocker to help slow down the growth of his arota. There are studies going on at Johns Hopkins concerning cozaar to see if it can stop or reverse the growth of aortas, which it has done in mice. My son has taken Cozaar and his beta blocker for three years and his aorta has not grown wider...so this is good news!

Both medications are angiotensin II receptor antagonists which will relax the blood vessels and lower BP. As to which will work best for you, that's up to your cardiologist. It's not unusual to try one medication to manage CHF only to find it's not doing as well as expected, then try another med.
t have EDS, but my aortic root is at the high end of normal, and I might have some mild degree of connective tissue problem (not enough of anything for a diagnosis), but the enlarging of my aorta was completely stopped by taking max dose of valsartan (similar to cozaar (ARB)). Many other people I know w/ connective tissue problems like MFS have had the same results, or aortic shrinkage. I have not yet heard of anyone taking a proper dose of ARB and continuing aortic enlargement.
Also, I thought over the counter natural hormone remedies are not regulated by the FDA, thus they dont know if linked to breast cancer. This information might become outdated as I am writing this. Probably would be best talking to a breast cancer risk specialist. They would know the latest. I sue would like to be sure.
I had one simple cyst on my right ovary that was discovered in August of 2016, but was told it was fluid filled and a follow up ultrasound would be done in November. I had that ultrasound and nothing came of it - not grown and still fluid filled. Due to my mother passing away from Ovarian cancer I do get pelvic ultrasounds every year.
