Avatar n tn Can you go have the Cozaar filled at another pharmacy?
Avatar m tn then add a diuretic you would have to reduce the ace inhibitor dose to offset the diuretic as the heart would have to beat faster due to the dilation and less fluid. Would this combination cause tachycardia and how should the dose be regulated?
Avatar n tn I tried to talk to my husbands P.A. about Losartan (Cozaar) and she just kind of blew me off. If we actually got to see the Dr., he would probably discuss it with us but she doesn't even want to hear about it. Joe has esophageal varicies and Nadolol is what they think is best. I read a study that showed an increase in platelets and albumin levels and subjects with liver disease. I will be watching the news on this.
Avatar n tn And the reason for your headaches is because you have stopped taking the Cozaar. The headaches are likely to be because your blood pressure is now too high again. High blood pressure can not only increase your risk of getting a stroke (like ziyanda says), but also increases your risk of getting a heart attack. Once you are put on medication for hypertension, it is usually lifelong.
Avatar n tn My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?
Avatar m tn I am on bystolic, imdur er and losarton.. I had a six to eight week spell where my BP went up quite a bit..I noticed I had put on about 10 pounds and new I was under more stress than usual.. Lost the weight and got life under control and every thing BP wise went back to normal..
Avatar m tn Several articles seem to indicate that Cozaar (the ARB class) seems to decrease depression, and appears to have a positive impact on day to day mood. To me this seems to indicate that the whole area of fibrosis and atherosclerosis/ inflammation and high blood pressure, may be co-related. With drugs that address the underlying factors causing high blood pressure, we may be addressing other problems as well....like ongoing fibrosis, ED, depression, fatigue...
Avatar m tn I opted for the RAI (3 months ago) and I take cozaar (6 months now) and in these last 3 weeks I am suffering from muscle fatigue, muscle cramps if I stretch them too quickly or exercise them. Could the cozaar be causing the problem or is the disease the problem or both?
1763618 tn?1315807367 Call around to your local pharmacies. Ask the pharmacist/s if cozaar is used to treat kidney issues and if its safe to combine with atenelol when your BP is 110/70.
Avatar m tn Athlete when young may explain low pulse to some extent. Clearly, BP 165/85 too high still. Plan to take a herbal treatment claimed to cure Atrial Fibrillatiion. That high BP, suggestions please?
Avatar f tn s advocate, I want to be armed with good information before we talk to his primary. He presently is not taking the Cozaar or Plavix and I am worried.
Avatar n tn My son has Marfan Syndrome and has to see a cardiologist once a year to have an echo test. He takes a beta blocker to help slow down the growth of his arota. There are studies going on at Johns Hopkins concerning cozaar to see if it can stop or reverse the growth of aortas, which it has done in mice. My son has taken Cozaar and his beta blocker for three years and his aorta has not grown wider...so this is good news!
Avatar n tn Just think about cigarettes and we know they cause cancer, but they still sell them. How many men have prostrate cancer today, you have to wonder about their use of gold bond powder? We just don't know, but I would not take a chance. I think baby powder with cornstarch is o.k., but you need to do more research on that.
Avatar m tn Anyone ever travled to Mexico for HSV-2 Suppressive Therapy Medication? I've been thinking about going to one of the border towns to buy some medication specifically Acyclovir. I'm working full time and am covered through my insurance for prescription meds and Dr's visits, but later on in the future will need to cut my full time job to possibly part time or less as I will be starting nursing school and willl not have the time to work as much with my time for school.
210400 tn?1325380570 I would never call someone out, but that doesn't mean you don't know they are full of it. When the bs meter starts to go off I just don't pay attention to their story anymore. I know the road to pregnancy can be a long and winding one with lots of bumps in the road. It's nice to have a place like this to be able to post your crazy questions and symptoms. That said not every person on this site is for real.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately your question was accidentally posted on the bird forum. I didn't notice your question posted on the heart disease forum which may be the best place to ask. Both medications are angiotensin II receptor antagonists which will relax the blood vessels and lower BP. As to which will work best for you, that's up to your cardiologist. It's not unusual to try one medication to manage CHF only to find it's not doing as well as expected, then try another med.
1198633 tn?1341182388 I have recently stopped taking Coreg 6.25ng and started on Cozaar 50mg to manage my blood pressure which is working out really great according to measurements. I was weaned from Coreg by taking just my dosage at night and skipping the morning one for two weeks and then to stop. Since about a week after I cut down to once a day I started to notice a constant pounding heart.
Avatar n tn t have EDS, but my aortic root is at the high end of normal, and I might have some mild degree of connective tissue problem (not enough of anything for a diagnosis), but the enlarging of my aorta was completely stopped by taking max dose of valsartan (similar to cozaar (ARB)). Many other people I know w/ connective tissue problems like MFS have had the same results, or aortic shrinkage. I have not yet heard of anyone taking a proper dose of ARB and continuing aortic enlargement.
979831 tn?1250005950 Complete thyroidectomy and full neck dissection followed then radioactive iodine and high-dose artifical thyroxine after that. Prior to the cancer I have no idea if I had any sort of thyroid problems as I was never tested but I would not be the least bit surprised if I did. I am fairly certain there is some sort of connection between thyroid disease and TMJ problems but exactly why and what that connection is remains elusive.
543518 tn?1245322027 My understanding is that NF-kB is instrumental in helping to replicate inflammatory cells even in hep c and b to keep it chronic and is also found in cancer cells. But I really had a difficult time understanding the studies done on this and was hoping someone out there is a biology buff and could explain in a lay person's terms what this means.
