Cozaar heart rate

Common Questions and Answers about Cozaar heart rate

cozaar

Avatar m tn Beta blockers definitely have an effect on heart rate. I was started on 2.5mg three years ago, and when my angina worsened I was told to double this to 5mg. I ended up in hospital because my heart rate dropped to 28, 25 when asleep setting off all the alarms. Each person can tolerate different levels of medications, so getting the balance right is important. I know in cardiac rehabilitation there were some people with heart rates between 45-50, much lower than my 68.
1198633 tn?1341182388 I have recently stopped taking Coreg 6.25ng and started on Cozaar 50mg to manage my blood pressure which is working out really great according to measurements. I was weaned from Coreg by taking just my dosage at night and skipping the morning one for two weeks and then to stop. Since about a week after I cut down to once a day I started to notice a constant pounding heart.
Avatar n tn Cozaar is what my husband is taking for regular heart rate due to a past heart attack. However, it has side effects of chronic lack of energy and the big one of erectile dysfunction. What are some other alternatives?
Avatar n tn This was my first time with A-fib. And I have been in sinus rhythm for 3 1/2 months, with a normal heart rate. I am F 55 not overweight, non smoker. Moderate aortic regurgitation, mild mitral regurgitation, mildly dilated left atrium. EF 50 %, Aorta root 3.4cm Thank you for your time.
Avatar m tn Should I still be experiencing shortness of breath from heart problem? Know my max heart rate when exercising should be around 165 for my age. Where should it be when I'm running or lifting weights? Or is it safe for me to try and do distance running and weight lifting? I've always been athletic and had a difficult time not going all out when exercising. I am also on an ace inhibitor and a beta blocker. Coreg 7.5mg and Cozaar 25mg.

Avatar m tn I recently read online about Heart Rate Turbulence. This is where the heart rate speeds up after a premature beat then returns to a normal heart rate. Is anyone familiar with this?
Avatar m tn , lower pulse rate. rarely have Arrythmia now. Take one Cozaar 50mgs daily. BP recently about 165/85. Pulse rate 37 this morning prior to medication. Usually Pulse is 39/42. Has been for years. Athlete when young may explain low pulse to some extent. Clearly, BP 165/85 too high still. Plan to take a herbal treatment claimed to cure Atrial Fibrillatiion. Avatar n tn Can you go have the Cozaar filled at another pharmacy?
Avatar n tn I'm sorry to hear about your cousin, my thoughts and prayers are with your family. The only thing that I do know about Marfan's is that it is hereditary and it can lead to problems with the heart. I know that people with Marfan's are more susceptible to aneurysms and other cardiac problems. You may want to post on the autoimmune disorder board. I have seen people on there that have discussed Marfan's since it is considered a connective tissue disorder.
Avatar n tn Genetic's doctor spoke of two beta blocking drugs for 'aorta root dilatation'. Atenalo and Cozaar. In reading about these in pill book, I already suffer from cold spots in the extremities, kidney problems at times and several of the other nasty's listed as side effects, etc. Have a hard time keeping weight on me[130 lbs -5' 5 1/2"], low body temperature [97]. Blood pressure today-108 / 60.
1246614 tn?1268684275 I had mine repaired 7 years ago and a couple of years ago I started having shortness of breath, dull pain in my heart and now my left ventricle is slightly enlarged. I just started on cozaar, that is the only medicine I am on. My cardiologist seems to feel the time is coming soon, probably in the next 6-12 months. Any thoughts on the subject.
Avatar m tn Endurance athletes are more likely to develop harmful arrhythmias. Getting your heart rate into the target zone for your age group for 30 minutes per day is fine. In years past it was felt that more=better. That is quickly changing. Calcium Channel Blockers (CCBs like verapamil) would probably be your next choice. Please discuss this with your doc.
Avatar f tn My EF was about 35% but dropped to 23% after a reaction to prednisone taken for a allergic response to the dye used in heart cath. My problem seems to be my normal heart rate is running about 60 to 63 going up to about 70 when exercising (little treadmilling) My meds are 50mg cozaar...25mg aldactone and then supposed to be taking 50mg Toprol XL but started out at 25mg and find it puts my heart down in the mid 50's.
1008841 tn?1293598960 If you have high blood pressure then ask your doctor to put you on losartan (Cozaar) Not sure what a doctor would do without high BP. You could search clinicaltrials.
Avatar f tn Recently I have noticed some PVCs/or PACs specially when my heart slows down from 130 to 60-70 after exercise and then it stabilizes after a while. I have no arrhythmia or symptoms when my heart rate is up even upto 155 (more than my maximal on Bruce 4th stage). I had a resting Echo with ejection fraction 45%, reasonale LV and very little motion disturbance. Stress EKG to maximal stress (155 BPM my age does not show any ischemic changes on EKG.
Avatar n tn My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?
Avatar m tn I notice that the Express Script drug I now use is made by Apotex whereas the original Walgreen brand was Cozaar. I went back to Walgreens and asked the pharmacist if there was any chance that the Apotex was inferior/impotent to the Cozaar for some reason. She assured me that could not be the case and that there could be no difference. Losartan is Losartan is Losartan. As an experiment(with GP consensus), I doubled my dose of Apotex Losartan from 50 to 100 mg a day for one week.
Avatar m tn I think after this month, that will be 3 months on losartin(cozaar), I will see how my blood work is then add vasotec to the cozaar wait 3 months check my blood work and make a decision on dropping cozaar for vasotec. It was first published as far as I can see that losartan reduces fibrosis in 2000, that sure seems much to long a time lag between discovery and clinical use and I'm sure it is that way across medicine.
Avatar m tn I opted for the RAI (3 months ago) and I take cozaar (6 months now) and in these last 3 weeks I am suffering from muscle fatigue, muscle cramps if I stretch them too quickly or exercise them. Could the cozaar be causing the problem or is the disease the problem or both?
116881 tn?1189755823 Yes, that does sound like sinus arrhythmia. Essentially when we breath in our heart rate rises and when we breath out it slows down. In general the difference is maybe 10 or so bpm. When it starts to reach a difference of maybe around 30 is when it is deemed sinus arrhythmia. I get it myself sometimes. I don't think it is anything to be concerned about. I am not even sure they know why it happens. If the rate starts to really elevate then it might be a concern.
Avatar f tn s advocate, I want to be armed with good information before we talk to his primary. He presently is not taking the Cozaar or Plavix and I am worried.
