Avatar m tn I opted for the RAI (3 months ago) and I take cozaar (6 months now) and in these last 3 weeks I am suffering from muscle fatigue, muscle cramps if I stretch them too quickly or exercise them. Could the cozaar be causing the problem or is the disease the problem or both?
Avatar f tn What weight loss supplements are safe to take while on hyzaar and cozaar for high blood pressure
Avatar n tn I dont remember what it is in bananas though - potassium I think?... and as a coffee fan, I have noticed a direct link to an increase in palps if I do indulge, not only in caffeine but even if I just eat a larger quantity of food, so I "graze" on small snack size portions now and have found that helpful with the palps... might help you too.
Avatar m tn Will taking potassium supplements help with the effects of low hgb. My hgb was at 8.6 two days ago and I can't take procrit. My riba is reduced, but I feel very week and out of breath as of last night. I know several people have gone lower then 8.6, so I assume even though it feels terrible it's safe. I was at 9.3 earlier in the week and it felt much better.
Avatar n tn my pharmacey was out of cozaar and they gave me losartan,.
219609 tn?1210348114 I'm taking a water tablets for my high calcium problem, and doctor did not tell me this would cause a low postasssium problem, and getting more tired and weaker by the day, and the dizzy spells are returning, so hoping taking Mag, and Potassium supplements would help,,and experience here
Avatar f tn That did help but now I am wondering if I am taking too much potassium. I starting concentrating on foods with potassium such as bananas and also increased my supplement to two a day instead of one. Now, lately, on top of the fatigue I was already having (from other issues?) I have been feeling swimmy-headed and having a lot of headaches as well as increased feeling of exhaustion. I am wondering if I am taking in too much potassium now.
492869 tn?1285018933 Are you currently taking any vitamins and/or supplements to treat your Dysautonomia symptoms? Elaborate, or discuss your response below if you will like.
Avatar n tn Mild hypokalemia could be treated with oral potassium chloride supplements and nutritional supplements like bananas, oranges, tomatoes, green leafy vegetables etc. The tachycardia at night is most likely due to anxiety and stress of an upcoming cardiologist appointment. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn literature suggests that Sertraline interferes with thyroid Meds. Also taking several supplements, and Cozaar; and Ambien for sleep. Am concerned that what I am taking, or increasing anything, will cause further interference with getting stabilized. I feel like anything I try to do for myself results in adding additional problems, and it is becoming confusing and frightening. Any feedback on this subject is welcome....
Avatar f tn ve been on 2 medications ever since, Carvedilol (Coreg) 6.25mg; and Losartan Potassium ( Cozaar ) 50mg. My condition was caused by heavy drinking ( Alcohol ). I've been sober for 21 months now, ever since I was diagnosed. I'm so happy and relieved that my doctor says that it getting better. I'm feeling better, because the medication are working for me. My concern is, will my heart. Enlargement go back to normal size?
1008841 tn?1293598960 I got on Cozaar for my tx induced high BP specifically for this reason! I had read studies about Cozaar being beneficial for ED, Fibrosis, and depression...and asked my GP to switch me from diuretic style BP drugs to the ARB class. I did notice benefits in ED function after a few weeks, and also definitely noticed a more positive mood. I am hoping there will also be an impact on my stage II fibrosis after my SVR, and will do a follow up Fibro-Sure test next year to check for any changes.
Avatar f tn Use natural foods, eat a couple of bananas a day. My wife was given potassium supplements and they did nothing, but when she ate 2 bananas a day, her levels returned to normal. The body is so much better at obtaining its requirements from natural foods.
Avatar m tn Before the Losartan, I was taking 90 mgs of Armour (which is T3 AND T4) daily. After just a few weeks on the Losartan, I became hyperthyroid for a while, and my doctor lowered my dose of Armour (down to 60.) I have not noticed heat intolerance, but I am losing weight--slowly (which I don't mind as I am about 20 lbs over bikini-wearing level.) Never heard of the Marshall protocol, but I'm going to look it up!
Avatar f tn Did your doctor tell you to take supplements to keep your levels up and/or eat foods that are rich in calcium, magnesium and potassium in order to avoid deficiency again? These are electrolytes and must be kept in balance with other electrolytes - sodium and chloride. Many of us have to take magnesium supplements to prevent symptoms of deficiency. Magnesium citrate seems to be the best type to take, as magnesium oxide is mostly good as a laxative.
Avatar m tn They initially wanted to put me on Lisinopril, but I was on that previously and I had a terrible, nagging cough the entire time. I've read that ACE Inhibitors are preferable to ARBs, though, when it comes to CHF. Should I try another ACE, or would all of them be likely to cause a cough since the Lisinopril did? Or is the Cozaar good enough? (Some places even suggest taking an ACE along with an ARB...is that a good idea?) Blood Thinners: Should I be taking one?
Avatar n tn I just want to know if the list of supplements and extracts i am taking pose any danger to myself? Or if the multivitamin/supplements in conjunction with the fruit and veg i eat each day will amount to extremly high values of certain vitamins/minerals which may be harmfull or have unwanted side effects?
919799 tn?1246034066 Had my first endo appt. and found out my potassium is low so she is rechecking it again says she doesnt know why it would be low because something about your kidneys holding on to it? My family dr. did ran the CMP In which it came back low and they did not tell me anything about it thats why she is rechecking it herself. The endo seems to think Iam "subclinical" HyperT. But we are waiting on more tests to find out, a FT3&FT4,ANTIBODYS,AND ANOTHER TSH.She also found a small goiter.
Avatar m tn I am considering adding potassium and fish oil (omega 3) to my daily supplements, but would love some feedback first. Thanks!
Avatar f tn The doctor looked at my EKG, which was abnormal, but I think she came to the electrolyte imbalance just because of how much potassium I was taking. I have been drinking smart water yesterday and today. Last night was so much better and so far so good today. I have been researching like crazy and have concluded that in order to have electrolytes in balance I need to nix the supplements and just have a lot of freshly juiced juices and raw celery, tomatoes, etc...
431644 tn?1236899573 I got a call from dr have to take potassium for 3 days. Mine was 3.1 and normal is 3.4. The MCHC was high also. Went to walmart with hub lastnight and couldn't breath and shook all over heart racing and then finally stopped. Then came home and did it gain at bedtime. Always at bedtime it seems for me or mornings. Weird.......
Avatar n tn My MD put me on Hyzaar for hypertension. Previously I had been on Cozaar but she changed it to Hyzaar for the added benefit of the diuretic. I noticed my drug company autosubbed generic Losortan. The bottle doesn't say anything about hydrochlorothiazide being included. Could I be getting the wrong thing, or should I assume some form of hydrochlorothiazide is included?
