Coughing when i lay down

Common Questions and Answers about Coughing when i lay down

coughing

Avatar m tn When i lay down my sinuses completely stop up. It comes and goes. But i could say it happens mostly around temperature changes. I have never had this problem till the last year or so. I can feel the pressure on my sinuses. No pain. I can breathe through my nose regularly while i'm up. When i lay propped up I still breathe fine. When i am in my bed. Can't breathe at all. I wake up with a dry sore tongue and dry sore throat.
Avatar m tn Today I have had this uncomfortable chest pain and it hurts when I lay down. Its not quite heartburn but I do have a shortness of breath and feel a little dizzy. What do you feel this could be? I understand that me panicking about whats wrong with me certainly doesnt help.
Avatar f tn Whenever I lay on my back for any length of time (more than 30 minutes), such as to watch a movie, I begin having coughing fits that last about 10 or 15 minutes and sometimes cough up phlegm, like what happens when one has a cold. I've been told I have non-allergic rhinitis and I have some allergies, but I am not around allergens when these "fits" happen. Are these episodes anything I should be concerned about?
Avatar m tn For the past week or so, I have started wheezing the second I lay down in bed. I have had a cold this week, or so I have been told by my doctor (personally, I think it's bronchitis), but the cold is pretty much gone, yet I continue to wheeze the second I lay down. The doctor gave me an Albuterol inhaler, but it hasn't helped one bit. I do have asthma, but - like I said - the inhaler isn't doing anything at all for me as far as the wheezing is concerned.
Avatar f tn I have ACM 1, my last MRI showed it only at about 7 mm which was a little over a year ago. Last week I was sitting on the couch and had pain in my neck. This happens a lot but always goes away once I get up and start moving or just change positions on the couch. However, this time it got A LOT worse! The pain is simply debilitating when I lay down! In fact I've had to keep a towel under my neck to help me move it when I'm laying down.
Avatar f tn I Googled everything about different topics when I am having health problems.
4838207 tn?1363917730 Anddd this post is from two years ago. Oh my gosh, I can't believe I just noticed that. Can a mod delete my comment? I don't want to be a part of dead thread ressurection.
Avatar f tn I'm 12 weeks and I'm showing but when I lay my belly also gets flat. I wouldn't worry about that to much!!!
Avatar m tn Recently, when I lay down to sleep, I feel very short of breath. My arms feel numb and I feel short of breath. I also feel short of breath sometimes during the day. I'm concerned - it makes it hard to rest at night. I've been to the doctor about this before, and he seemed to think it was anxiety (?). It's really bothering me, but I feel like I'm crazy going to the doctor again for this same thing if it's just anxiety. Maybe I need better coping skills. Frustrated.
Avatar f tn Hello! So I get pretty bad headaches when I wake up in the mornings. It's not all the time, but when it does happen it's really bad. The light hurts and my brain feels like it's about to explode. The pain is concentrated on the lower back of my brain; what I associate to be near the cerebellum. Once I get up and move around I'm fine, but if I try to lay down again, it'll hurt again.
Avatar f tn It happens when I lay down and when I stand up, but more so when I’m laying down. Any solutions/ ideas of what it is?
Avatar n tn Neurologist are the ones who can diagnose and treat it. The headache typically gets better when you lay down after a few minutes or by taking caffeine. It took 2 blood patches to fix mine. I know yours would have been resolved by now so this is for those who are having a headache that won't go away and came across this post. It's just something else to consider.
Avatar m tn I've had this constant throat clearing for a few years now, since I was 14-15. It feels like a tickle in the middle of my throat, and when I try to clear it out, it comes right back. I clear it out like every 5-10 seconds. It happens occasionally after I eat, not very much, and more likely to happen after I eat when I consume dairy products. Never usually happens whenever I'm standing or sitting. But it always happens whenever I lay down or sleep and keeps me up for a good few hours.
Avatar n tn During the day, when I am up and around, it reverts to some slight shortness of breath and slight pressure in the right lung and a tickle/some pressure in the throat). At night, when I first lay down, I have a little shortness of breath but can get to sleep. After about 2-3 hours I suddenly can't breathe and my right lung aches badly, so it wakes me up. I feel like the throat may be constricting also.
Avatar m tn I started to prop myself up and the sore throats stopped, but the cough is still there. The cough sounds like a bark when I sit up, but when I sit back in a chair or lay down, now the cough sounds like a chest infection, this chest/throat infection sound stops if I sit up. To my knowledge I haven’t lost any weight, although to be honest I don’t check my weight so have no guide. I also get pains occasionally in the centre of my chest under my breast bone.
2006603 tn?1331329327 And this morning i woke up at about 6am to use the bathroom and i went to lay back down and my little guy was just kicking and punching up a storm so when i finally fell back asleep i woke back up at about 9am and my stomach was aching like i had been doing ab work outs. Im just so tired all the time now, any advice?
13550955 tn?1449245373 That sounds awful, I really hope mine don't become that bad. I'll probably lose it. Did you see a doctor during that time? It's weird because when I lay down it's almost like I can feel that they're about to start happening based on how my stomach feels, so I'm really thinking there more air in my stomach due to the cold. I think the virus has also moved to my stomach because I'm nauseous for most of the day, although that might be the anxiety as well.
Avatar f tn It made me feel better, however, after using up all of them, I noticed that I am still coughing up mucus/phlegm and I hear a slight vibrating sound in my lungs when I lay down. I need to know, is this just residual stuf that my body is getting rid of??
Avatar n tn My question is. I have lowered blood preasure and a slower heart rate when I lay down. Pulse goes to 60 and it just feels like i am really sluggish like something is wrong. My blood preasure is 120/80 but upon lying down it is 115/55 is this normal. I do have a family history of heart issues in fact my both of my cousins had heart attacks before 40. I have had a cardio work up 6 months ago and they said pacs pvcs and bradiacardia at night was all.
Avatar f tn Hello im 29weeks and about a month Ago i started to have this dry cough that gets worse at night especially when i lay down for bed. 1124862 tn?1303850973 I chalked it up to random pregnancy pains. It happens ESP when I lay down and then get up. So strange! Wish I had some answers for ya but I haven't a clue.
Avatar f tn I noticed when I lay down, when I exhale there is a quiet crackling noise. If I am not lying down, I can only hear it if I take a long exhale, like to get all the air out. I went to the dr for it and was told my lungs sound clear. I have a bit of fluid in my ear and no fever. Currently, there is only a cough on exertion and I am not coughing anything up (even with taking mucinex as my dr recommended).
Avatar m tn Late in the afternoon I cough so much I gag but when I lay down it stops. I do not smoke and never have and the cough is a dry cough can anyone out there give me some advice?
686794 tn?1273187820 She has 4 teeth coming in on the top and I know thats not helping it but its like she yells all day (no tears just screaming) and then when you lay her down she cries this sound that would make you think she is dying and then she really does have tears. Thinking its her teeth we have tried tylenol, orajel, and hylands teething tablets and nothing makes her stop. My husband thinks she is getting spoiled bc when we are carrying her she will stop throwing a fit immediately...
Avatar f tn The past few nights I've had chest pain when I lay down to go to bed. It literally feels like my heart is heavy. Any ideas what this could be or suggestions to help? I'm 29 weeks+6 days.
