Since then my symptoms got a little better, and currently just have bumps on inside of mouth sore throat (soft palate sore), and a white tongue (whcih my doctor said was nothing bus prescribed me some antifungal thing just incase), ive also been consistently spitting up mucus, varying colours from white to yellow to green. And also had white foamy spit. Does this sound like HIV symptoms?
I frequently cough up "pure white sticky mucus. This is a relatively new thing and it has become a concern as prior to coughing it up I always get a perfume or soapy taste in the back of my throat. (Please do not insult my intelligence by asking if I had applied perfume or got soap in my mouth) I have for a very long time coughed up a nasty colored mucus due to being a smoker, so this is a real shock to me. Do you have any suggestions with credible origins that might explain this?
You may be suffering from acid reflux. Stomach acid can irritate your throat resulting in lots of mucus. In my case, the acid is even making its way into my windpipe, making my voice hoarse and causing asthma-like attacks. Have you seen an ENT or GI specialist?
Hi, an important aspect about pertussis or whooping cough is vaccination. The best way to prevent pertussis is to get vaccinated. There are vaccines for infants, children, preteens, teens and adults. Researchers agree that refusal to vaccinate children against whooping cough might have played a role in the 2010 pertussis outbreak in California. The whooping cough vaccination is now recommended for all pregnant women between 28 and 38 weeks pregnant. Regards.
No problem there, I have had bronchitis several times. What concerns me is that a few days ago I was coughing up pink mucus. Then it turned into a peach color, now it is getting brighter with orange. Now, I did go to grade school so I am thinking yellow + red = orange. I asked the Dr. at the E.R. he didn't seem to have an answer for me and was not concerned about this. Why is my mucus a solid orange mass that I am coughing up? No, I have not eaten or drank anything that was orange or pink.
My dog has a cough and alot of white mucus is now coming up he is eating fine and staying hydrated, I am just looking for some over the counter meds to help him feel better till I can get him to the vet.

Hi Nafee, Just read your post. What does not being fat have to do with coughing up white sticky mucus. I would make an appointment to see your family doctor, tell your doctor about this and see what he or she thinks the white mucus might be. Good luck.
I spend hours everyday over the sink coughing out volumes of white sticky mucus. I sometimes choke on food from the amount of mucus that collects in my vocal cords and am unable to breathe well. Asthma & sinusitis seem the most normal explanation, however, the dr's say the don't find anything that should cause that much mucus. The only time it ever has stopped for a short while is when I was put on prednisone.
on a morning when i wake up i always need to cough and clear my throat since about a year ago. but now it has extended to needing to do it throughout the day. sometime the mucus that comes up is small hard sticky lumps that nearly make me be sick as they get stuck in my throat. or some times theres a lot of yellow and white flem. its never clear. I'm wondering wat the cause of this is as i can constantly feel it there at back of my throat like a coating.
My breathing is fine, my coughing, I think is to clear my throat of mucus build up, and at night my nose and sinus' drain more actively. Any sluggestions would help.
It seems to come in waves of coughing spells and then no coughs. I have been coughing up phlegm that is mostly white/clear with small amounts of a yellowish color and small brown flecks. When I lay down I can hear myself breathing/wheezing and makes it impossible to sleep, not to mention coughing fits making my partner unable to sleep. I have been taking antihistamines before bed and it seems to help calm my cough.
For the first week or so it was just a small cough, then it developed into coughing fits. For the past week the cough has led to nosebleeds, at least once a day, and vomiting, but only the once. The cough produces white-ish phlegm and a lot of spit. It is hard to breathe whilst getting rid of the spit. During the night I wake up once or twice to cough and this often leaves me dry heaving. I went to the doctors last week but they could not find a cause. What is causing this and what can help?
I have been coughing up lots of mucous for the last three to four months. After I eat, I cough up mucous until I regurgitate my food. When I don't eat, I cough white foamy mucous. What can I do?
On Saturday (about 3 days ago), I was coughing hard and bringing up some white to clear mucus after I took a syrup that's an expectorant, decongestant, and an antihistamine that my GP prescribed to me. I'm also getting over a sinus infection and just finished taking antibiotics as well. After I finished coughing hard, my throat (near my adam's apple) feels achy and feels weird when I swallow. I feel the weirdness when I'm swallowing the food and the sensation hangs around for 20 minutes or so.
I've been suffering for about a week but several months ago it was for almost an entire month Wake up inthe morning coughing up yellow / green mucus and then it goes clear but it's constant and so sticky - it won't even easily wash off the sides of the basin. Last time I used to wake up inthe middle of the night choking - really horrid problem and the lack f sleep only makes things worse.
The second round starts about a half hour to hour later, of just coughing up thick flem. I have lower back problems, which are made worse from the constant coughing every morning. It consumes the first 2 hours of every morning of my life, & has for a few years now. I think my pcp thinks it is all in my head, excuse the pun, & has no idea how extreme this is.
I have a chronic cough and have thick white, sometimes yellow phlegm that is really hard to get coughed up. I cough that up everyday, at least 2 times per day. I feel like my eyeballs are going to pop out of my head because I cough sooo hard. If I am on an oral steroid it helps but once off the steroid, it is hard to cough up again. The coughing keeps me up at night. I have been on many, many medications. I tested positive for asthma but the medications for that, are not even working.
I too have been having coughing attacks where I cough until I vomit. I am on acid reflux meds and nasal spray to help postnasal drip. This has been going on for about 2 months. I had this before about 3 years ago. The dr. tells me there is nothing they can do about it. It's really bad in the fact I can't go anywhere without having facial tissue and a sack or something to vomit in, cause I never know when I'll have an attack. Usually I cough up a lot of phlegm, but sometimes I actually vomit.
Look up Candida and see if you have the symptoms.
Cough has been lingering for about 2 months yesterday , somedays it feels cause a tickle in back of throat and others it feels like congestion in chest. I do cough up little white mucus somtimes both from chest and from sinus. My question is does anyone feel like this could be caused by post nasal drip or allergies (meaning the chest congestion at times) or does any one feel it is just in my chest and it could be from smoking( also had chest xray and breathing test which both came back good).
the sore throat has passed but just about every night now around 8pm i will start coughing for a few minutes until i can hack up a little bit of white mucus. i don't feel ill, my throat or lungs don't hurt, i just have an annoying cough. cough drops and medicine tend to help a bit but it hasn't cured it.
I believe that I have tracheal stenosis--I'm going to the doctor in January, but I cough up tons of white mucus. It's deep down and sometimes I even gag trying to cough it up. The other lovely part of this is coughing up tonsiloliths in public. I'm sick and tired of being sick and tired and I'm just wondering if the mucus could be part of the tracheal stenosis. Thanks!

I HAVE BEEN TO DOCTORS AND HOSPITALS. I HAVE BEEN GIVEN ANTIBOTICS, STERIODS, AND BREATHING TREATMENTS. THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THE REASON FOR THE COUGH IS THAT I'AM WHEEZING AND IT MAKES YOU COUGH.
She's also embarrassed whenever she goes somewhere because of the coughing. Everytime this happens we go to the doctor and have every test possible done and they all show nothing wrong. She's exausted from coughing and has sharp pains on her back, chest, and rib area. As soon as she falls asleep she'll stop coughing. No medicine helps. I've looked into psychogenic coughing but i still don't think that's what's wrong with her. Could there be something else?
Coughing from heart disease and especially coughing at night is a symptom of Congestive Heart Failure. Congestive Heart Failure can give a dry cough or produce white or clear mucus. Has he been retaining any water around his abdomen? If he is, it would be suspicious for left side congestive heart failure which would be more serious than right side congestive heart failure.
