Avatar m tn Well, if you are coughing up blood, a responsible adult in your life should be told so you can be seen by a doctor. I doubt I have to state the obvious that inhalation of smoke from weed isn't good for you. but coughing up blood is something that requires medical care so you need to talk to your parents about seeing a doctor.
Avatar m tn On and off, right side of my nose would bleed, but not bleeding like dropping out, instead it was bloody mucus inside the nostril. Ocassionaly i would cough up some blood, normally just a tiny red spot. I went to the hospital a month ago, done a chest x ray again, it came clear, done colonoscopy, gastroscopy, and upper endoscopy which said my membrane is vulnerable with spotty bleeding at touch, but it didnt explain blood in mucus. So after that i went to a Sinus and nasopharynx MSCT scan.
Avatar m tn I don't know if this is pertinent, but Advair caused such extreme coughing (almost incapacitating bronchitis) that I stopped using it. As for Spiriva, I find it extremely drying. I only use it every fourth day. On that regimen it helps. My lung health is actually much better and I am more comfortable since I gave up Advair, and my coughing is moderate. Advair also caused me to develop adrenal fatigue, which was quite dreadful, and I am still recovering from it.
Avatar m tn The other possibility is that you are coughing up blood. This can be due to bronchitis or pneumonia, lung cancers (especially in smokers), tuberculosis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary embolism, or fungal and other infections. Discuss these possibilities with your doctor. A comprehensive investigation is required keeping all the points in mind. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar n tn Sounds like you may have pneumonia and coughing up red blood is a cardinal sign of strep penumonia, this is the strain that can kill you and is the one you get vaccinated against every 5 years. Given your age, if the dr. makes a diagnosis of pneumonia you will be hospitalized for treatment (its standard protocol for anyone over 60), your also going to need to get a chest xray. In the mean time it's a good idea to take a break from smoking pot.
Avatar n tn However, I then started coughing up some stuff, and it was all brownish blood mixed with mucous. I coughed several times, and each time it was dark blood with mucous. Once, It was a rather long piece, with a round bigger piece at one end. I could feel it come up out of my throat area.
Avatar f tn Are you coughing a lot? It depends on what it looked like on how serious it is. If it was bright red, or frothy and blood streaked, that's probably from a chest infection, and not that alarming, though you should see your doctor.
Avatar n tn A week ago I was sick for the whole week with the flu. I had all the normal flu symptoms and was given notuss to try and control the violent cough I had. I had fever, headache, chills, aches, and would wake up during the night in coughing fits. I haven't had a fever in over a week and a half but I still have the hacking violent cough. I thought nothing of it until last night when I had a coughing fit and coughed up what appeared (and tasted like) blood.
Avatar n tn In two weeks the eyes looked no better and he put me on steroid drops 4 times a day. All but the initial red spot cleared up, the doctor suggested a stronger dose of steroids, I refused because I wanted to know what it was instead of just getting more drops. Now the other eye is turning red again....and the initial spot is not getting any better even though I have continued using the milder steroid drops in it 4 times a day....

Avatar n tn They did manage to bring her back and no sooner did they kick us out of there! The doctor sure had a scared look on his face too. Lately she has been coughing up blood and her hand gets to tingling from time to time. She also gets short of breath pretty often. Without any insurance, where do we turn from here? Are there any places that do body scans at reasonable prices as we are not made of money.
Avatar f tn I woke up with red eye on one side of my left eye; How do I know if I need to go to the Dr?
Avatar f tn i am 27 years and i do smoke but is it sreious when you cough up fleme with dots of red blood in it , it not all the time evrey now and then
Avatar n tn Is there any possibility she could have tried to eat a mouse, lizard or even a toad and hacked up a piece of it? If she shows any sign of coughing up blood, or acts in any way "off", get to an emergency vet and bring the tissue with you. It may not hurt to give an ER vet a call anyway and get some advice as to what to watch out for tonight, or whether to come in straight away.
Avatar n tn been coughing for a couple of weeks little bit of fever very tired went to a walk in clinic a couple of days ago and the Doctor said it was mostly allergies gave me antibotics, congestion, cough syurp, nasal spray....this morning when I woke up I was coughing up blood in my phlegm the first 3 times then it cleared up....
Avatar n tn Well, you definitely need a work-up by a pulmonary specialist. That being said, coughing up blood maybe very serious, and then again may not be very serious, so don't think you necessarily have a fatal illness. There are many possibilities.
206807 tn?1331936184 Never had an esophageal bleed but once those vessels burst it entails a lot more than just coughing up blood. As a rule those blood vessels just don't seal themselves back up and bleeding out can happen quickly. Did you see Jeff Bridges in Crazy Heart? He was a bad alcoholic and towards the end the old boy was dying from the booze, p-issing himself, coughing up blood and on his way out. That was a pretty fair depiction of a raging alcoholic.
Avatar f tn Since about the second or third week post quitting I started coughing up this weird white/gray phlegm that has a terrible, bitter acrid taste that coats my mouth and back of my throat almost like an oil. Similar to bronchitis sputum but not green or yellow. There's no tar in it, no black bits, and it's always a small amount but it's once a day, every day. Usually after I eat. I hate it, it's disgusting and I'm not sure why it's still coming up! Anyone else?
