coughing up phlegm symptoms

Okay so it started almost half a week ago I'd say.. I wasn't feeling sick at all, but for some reason I just started coughing up a lot of phlegm.. clearish to yellow colored. I don't smoke cigarettes, only on the occassional weekend. I do smoke pot. Anyways I thought the phelgm coughing up mighta been caused by some resin I was smoking, but they said that was black phlegm, not clearish yellow... So a few days pass of coughing up phlegm, and now I'm sitting here.. irritated...

Since about the second or third week post quitting I started coughing up this weird white/gray phlegm that has a terrible, bitter acrid taste that coats my mouth and back of my throat almost like an oil. Similar to bronchitis sputum but not green or yellow. There's no tar in it, no black bits, and it's always a small amount but it's once a day, every day. Usually after I eat. I hate it, it's disgusting and I'm not sure why it's still coming up! Anyone else?

A couple of days after he started coughing heavily and hacking up phlegm, I began to show similiar symptoms. However, mine seem to be steadily getting worse as the days go by. Im 17 year old female, I currently have a blocked nose and sore throat common symptoms of a cold. It has been 5 days now and i still have it. I have been coughing up phlegm and only twice has it happened where i have coughed up phlegm with streaks of blood in it. I do not smoke, take drugs or drink. Can you help me?

It seems to come in waves of coughing spells and then no coughs. I have been coughing up phlegm that is mostly white/clear with small amounts of a yellowish color and small brown flecks. When I lay down I can hear myself breathing/wheezing and makes it impossible to sleep, not to mention coughing fits making my partner unable to sleep. I have been taking antihistamines before bed and it seems to help calm my cough.

I have been coughing up phlegm daily for around 7 years. I've tried antibiotics several times without any success. I've had x-rays and mri scans but nothing showed up. Around 18 months ago my voice started to change. I was then prescribed omeprazole 20 mg capsules which make a slight difference and my voice returned to normal. But I still have to tap my chest and often have to get someone to hit my back to dislodge the phlegm which is milky white/ beige globules and quite a lot of it.

I sometimes cough and then cough up green phlegm. I have had upper gi and colonoscopy. It did show a hiatal hernia. I don’t know where this green stuff is coming from. Had anyone else had this problem? I especially get it when I workout.

sound like your lungs are clearing and you may have bronco or asthma or something see your doctor some times when you stop smokeing this happen.

The sore throat subsided significantly and is immediately relieved (usually in the morning) after coughing up green / yellow phlegm congestion. On Day 3 now, sore throat is almost non-existent except mild upon waking in the morning and then gone for the rest of the day after coughing up congestion / phlegm first thing in the morning. Tested negative for COVID and Flu on Day 2. Started 5-day, Z-Pac antibiotics on Day 2.

At first nothing was coming up But I have been coughing up A LOT OF THICK WHITE PHLEGM for the past month. I was wondering was this thick white phlegm a sign of hiv? I am not sure if this matters but in the first month i was dizzy. but the room was spinning but then it went away on it own. that is when all the coughing started. Then started producing a lot of thick, white phlegm in the back of my throat. The white white phlegm has not went away yet. It is very thick!

You should go to the doctor to be checked out because if you stpped cold turkey it can be something More serious then you might think

All pet scans are clear and x-rays clear still I have a cough that sometimes is that of a heavy smoker. Coughing brings up clear mucus. Other than this cough I feel great. Any suggestions on how to take care of the cough?

been coughing for a couple of weeks little bit of fever very tired went to a walk in clinic a couple of days ago and the Doctor said it was mostly allergies gave me antibotics,congestion,cough syurp,nasal spray....this morning when I woke up I was coughing up blood in my phlegm the first 3 times then it cleared up....

I tried looking into what it could be myself, but anything I found about coughing up clumps had nothing really about brown clumps, but rather yellow stinky ones. And mine are cleary not a yellowish color, nor do they smell.They are fairly small but I have been hocking them up more frequently, sometimes as much as four to five clumps in a day. I really could use any help or suggestions on what might be causing it or if there's and infection or problem.

then i had no more cough and flu..but still have some phlegm..one day morning, i spit up my phlegm then i see some blood stained there. after that spit i did not have blood stained in my phlegm for that day. but the second day, i had blood stained phlegm in the morning and all the days whenever i spit the phlegm ( without coughing it out)....so... may i asked wat is my problem? I have an almost 4 yr old daughter, who at night wakes up coughing, gagging on to much phlegm, and follows with throwing up. Last night she threw up 6 times. No this is no the flu, or something she ate. This happens once a week. She generally wakes up with alot of phlegm and has a hard time coughing it out. Any words on this??
