coughing up clear

been trying to make myself cough up stuff ever since to see if there was blookd and it was all clear.... i am hoping it was nothing and I am trying not to think about it...

Well, you definitely need a work-up by a pulmonary specialist. That being said, coughing up blood maybe very serious, and then again may not be very serious, so don't think you necessarily have a fatal illness. There are many possibilities.

He said the lungs sounded clear so why waste your money? Everything came back clear, and the doctor said that I was probably dealing with the tail end of a viral infection. Then last night, after swimming laps in the pool. I started couging again, and up came some more blood. Again, not a lot, but enough to cause me to be concerned. My chest is also very sore. Since about the second or third week post quitting I started coughing up this weird white/gray phlegm that has a terrible, bitter acrid taste that coats my mouth and back of my throat almost like an oil. Similar to bronchitis sputum but not green or yellow. There's no tar in it, no black bits, and it's always a small amount but it's once a day, every day. Usually after I eat. I hate it, it's disgusting and I'm not sure why it's still coming up! Anyone else?

My English Bully gets up in the morning and forces up clear foamy substance. He does not do this throughout the day, only first thing in the morning. He was vet checked one month ago, up-to-date on also shots and is on comfortis for the past year. Its not like her is vomiting, its like gagging it up. Any suggestions, help????

my throat seems to close up at various times of the day and night, I start coughing, my eyes start to water and my throat has a bad tickle that makes me cough. It's like someone sprayed air into my mouth. When I sleep on my left side, I have noticed that it feels like my throat is closing up and I start coughing and my eyes water. I've tried antibiotics, allergy meds, cold and asthma meds. sucking on cough drops. Nothing seems to help. What can it be???

For the past 4 years I have been coughing up clear jelly like Mucus Balls. I have been a smoker for 8 years, and I have Asthma. I wake up in the morning and in the middle of the night coughing up a lot of the little mucus balls. It happens a little bit through out the day. Sometimes they are balls and sometimes they are like a hair, but made of mucus. I am very scared and do not have health insurance. I am 25, and thought I was pretty healthy. Please someone, HELP!

I can not stop coughing. Cough drops aren't really helping. I'm 16w3d. Is there anything I can do or take to help?

Now these last few months, Ive been throwing up out of my lungs somehow, some sort of clear Gooy-spit thats sometimes completely bubbly or sometimes clear. I cough non stop throughout the day, even when i do not smoke. Im not sure if i have an infection or what and seeking advice.. I know your advice will be to stop smoking, but even when i do for a while the coughing never ceases. Ive also been having pain in my left lung when i cough. My tiny four pound Maltese/Poodle cross has been coughing and I was wondering if someone has any ideas. He is about 8 1/2 and has had issues with his behavoir. He won't let us have him groomed without him trying to bite us or get his nails trimmed, so every four months or so we have to have him knocked out to have this done. All pet scans are clear and x-rays clear still I have a cough that sometimes is that of a heavy smoker. Coughing brings up clear mucus. Other than this cough I feel great. Any suggestions on how to take care of the cough?

I saw few amount of blood in the first spit after waking up after that all were normal. I have no other significant symptom at all. It was for 4 days only. It happens is only in the morning.

Barbara533 Have you tried an antihistamine? rushtyyyyy green and yellow flem should not be coming up from allergy unless it is stomach acid. Usually allergy is clear mucus. I'm not a doctor but I wonder if it is a bacteria infection. Sorry I don't know the correct answer. Maybe the doctors are correct too. I just personally haven't heard of colored mucus from allergy. Allergy can cause mucus that can lead to bacteria infection too. See another doctor.

For the past several weeks I have had what seems to be a constant over-production of mucus draining in my throat. It's like I have to clear my throat every few minutes -- VERY ANNOYING!! Now my throat is getting sore from all the clearing and I'm waking up at night coughing from that 'tickling' sensation in the back of my throat.

A week ago I was sick for the whole week with the flu. I had all the normal flu symptoms and was given notuss to try and control the violent cough I had. dry irritating cough plus when im asleep my chest is that rattly it wakes me up..just stopped drinking coffee and use decaf t.bags..slight improvement just going through tests to see if its acid reflux causing the irritation..so really thinking about changing my diet ...had camera down nose and chest xray both were clear..driving me bonkers had it for over a year now..been prescribed with omeprazole and gaviscon ...lets see how it goes ..

They did manage to bring her back and no sooner did they kick us out of there! The doctor sure had a scared look on his face too. Lately she has been coughing up blood and her hand gets to tingling from time to time. She also gets short of breath pretty often. Without any insurance, where do we turn from here? it feels there is stuff stuck in there but it does not come up with coughing. once in a while i bring up clear stuff and very little bit of it. i did 3 xrays and it came back clear. the doctor listened to my lungs and breathing and said its clear. when i get this is almost feels like my breathing is slightly worse but when i tell the doc he says i sound clear. it feels like its coming from the throat and is affecting my voice slightly too.

sound like your lungs are clearing and you may have bronco or asthma or something see your doctor some times when you stop smokeing this happen.
