Collapsing Trachea- Common in small breeds- This cough is more like choke-gasp, choke/gasp....It sounds like a goose honking....Meaning like when your sucking through a straw & it collapses. Like it kinda sticks then opens, etc. It is actually doing just that.....The trachea collapses then opens back up...This ailment is treated by weight control & Medications for lung disease....Cough meds, bronchial dilaters, Asthma meds., steroids when necessary, etc.
Even though I'm sure this had resolved itself long ago, it just sounds like Bronchitis to me. As an asthmatic myself I do tend to get Bronchitis once in a while due to built-up mucus in the lungs. The cough starts out dry for a while, then eventually produces the mucus. When I get up in the mornings I always cough up a ball of hardened mucus that sometimes looks spaghetti-like. It's simply old mucus that's been sitting in my throat all night that I cough up in the morning.
I think it is a medical condition. Sounds asthma like. You need to take him back to the doc. The dosages/meds can be changed to prevent the racing heart. It sounds like you did not consult the doc about stopping the med, which in hindsight probably was a mistake. It is not related to minecraft.
Actually, if his breathing gets any worse, I would get in to see your doc as soon as possible. Tell them when you make the appointment what is going on.

To me it sounds like maybe an allergy problem - you may want to try some type of allergy medication - but of course, please check with your doctor or pharmacist before starting any new medication, especially if you are already under a doctor's care for anything.
For non-medicinal help, you can try sucking on some hard candy - or even something like a hall's cough drop.

Well today I feel so much worse than I did on Monday. I am having coughing fits to where I almost pass out, still super dizzy (even when not coughing) and my throat is even more sore and I hardly can talk (kids are enjoying that part lol) I think I have bronchitis. So glad I go see my primary doctor tomorrow. Are any of you ladies experiencing this?
My 5 year old miniature schnauzer is 5 years old. She has started coughing and is becoming more frequent. It is almost a panting cough? She also has a bad odor. Which has been going on for a month or two.(odor). I have listened to her chest with a stethescope and she is breathing fast and it sounds thick and dry. I thoguht it was maybe just a case of dust because we mulched leaves (oak and pecan) and we didn't have a bag on the mower and it got pretty dusty.
Sounds like you might have a mild case of allergy related athsma. Try taking an allergy medicine for a week and see if that helps. It doesn't sound like you have any mucus, so the cold medicines wouldn't work. My children have allergy related athsma. They rattle when they sleep and mostly just when sleeping or exercising. They also have a cough. I even had one child who always sounded like her nose was stuffy and had bad breath, that went away with the allergy medicine.
I took him outside for fresh air, he stopped and 5 mins later he is breathing like that again. He takes like 5 really strong breaths through his nose and then is back to normal.
What is going on? He is a 9 year old beagle and just had a vet check up yesterday and was fine.

Sounds like you may need to check in with your physician, especially given the wheeze which has developed. Without knowing more about your husband's health (chronic health conditions, smoker, etc), it is hard to say why he is still coughing, though the Riba does list cough as a side effect.

I'm having the same problem, which is how I found this area. I'm going to talk to my doctor about it. My back is getting sore from the coughing. I can't even talk with out coughing. It's almost like an uncontrollable reflex. It's odd I don't cough at night, while sleeping. 2nd month of treatment.
She is eating and drinking without an issues also. It sounds as if she is coughing up phlem but nothing ever comes up. Her breathing is fine, never gasps for air and there has been no voimiting either. She sleeps most of the night with out coughing. It sounds like kennel cough but I am pretty sure it is not! I experience several bouts of heavy coughing that can last anywhere from a few seconds to several minutes while coughing up mostly clear phlegm with some of it a sea green color and at other times tinged pink - though this is rare.
