I have such a itchy throat, and i keep coughing i hate it.. its annoying..

Is it normal when I cough sometimes I leak? Im 19w+5d with a chest cold and am coughing alot is it normal.

I have a head cold and doing all this coughing will it hurt the baby I hope not and can you take anything for the cold while you pregnant

It all sounds very normal yes but always run any worries you have by your midwife just to put your mind at rest

ve had bronchitis 3 times this pregnancy. I and nonslip had such a bad intense cough I had to wear pads... absolutely terrible. I really hope you get better soon sweetheart good luck!

Hello all! I'm sure that this topic has come up before, but I can't find the post. I'm now 15w2d and have been coughing like crazy for the last week or so. It's so bad to the point where I'm occasionally gagging. I called the doctor today and she said all I can do is have tea with honey or some lozenges. Cough syrups have way too much alcohol in them. Has anyone else had success with anything "safe" for us?

I'm glad someone else posted this! I'm 37 weeks and this has happened to me all pregnancy! No reason for it, I'll just randomly start coughing. It usually happens when I lay down.

You can take Tylenol Cold, and at this point if you're coughing, you can take Robitussin (sp?). Anything else, ask your doctor.

Ive had Pregnancy Rhinitis my whole pregnancy its hormone related allergies and it won't go away til I have the baby. Im 30 weeks 4 days. My allergies got ao bad around Christmas I had to go to er because I have been coughing and sneezing for ao long my throat was sore for over a month I got pressure in my left ear and my glands in throat were swollen from coughing day and night.

Coughing and sneezing? No hun that isnt a pregnancy symptom. She probably has a cold or allergies.

went today to get the official work on my pregnancy and sign up for some assistance. now im home but have started coughing. my bf has the flu. when I cough I get some pretty long painful cramps. I don't have a doctor yet due to waiting to see if I qualify for some assistance through the state. don't know what to do. or what I can take for the cough.

m about a month along, just in time for me to get a cold/chest cold. I woke up this morning with horrible cramps, but no blood. I was coughing horribly throughout the night. well thanks to DH i have this really bad cold that ive had for the last 3 days and im coughing so bad to the point it makes me gag@@! ok so 2 things i need to know is can it hurt the baby to be coughing that bad? and is there anything i can do to get rid of this cough that dose not invole medications? im to worried to even take just one cough drop or anything so any suggestions would be awesome cuz i feel like crud and blah and ewww !!

I am almost 25 weeks pregnant and sick and can't stop coughing. Took robedussin but I am coughing so much I can't catch my breath and gagging every time I cough from couging so hard... water is doing nothing for me and medicine doesn't seem to be helping. Any other suggestions?

I think I have pregnancy rhinitis, which is basically a fancy word for coughing, sneezing, drainage, eye/head pressure. I've taken 2 days off work to rest and drink liquids. It's not helping! I've been hacking for 3 months, but now it's just tacked on all the other symptoms. Plus, every time I cough I pee myself:( this is my 2nd child, I have an 8 month old. t seem like coughing would be enough to detach the baby from the uterus. I guess cough syrup is out when one is pregnant, but my grandpa used to give me one tablespoon of honey mixed with a little lemon juice when I had a bad cough when I was little. It was one of those home remedy type things, but it always worked for me! Hot tea with lemon & honey might also ease the coughing. I hope you feel better soon.

does anybody know if you can have covonia cough medicine during pregnancy? I've not stopped coughing my guts up for a week now, I've tried everything else and nothing's worked. I've drank hot drinks, had soup, paracetamol, plenty of water and rest, lemon and honey. Nothing's worked and I'm constantly coughing. I was in hospital on a drip the other day due to severe dehydration and high temp as the coughing was making me sick and I couldn't keep any fluids down.

I wake up coughing my head off, stuffed up nose, and my ears are closed up. It is worse in the morning and night. I have read that the coughing won't hurt the baby. Trying to get to sleep is ridiculous. So far I'm just going with honey cough drops. I tried honey and lemon tea last night and that seemed to help me get to sleep. I have done my first IVF, Egg transfer Sunday the 26/07/09 it is now 3 days since transfer and I started coughing yesterday, when sleeping it becomes worst. Can this affect implantation?

I had a cold a couple times during my pregnancy with the cough. Sometimes the coughing hurt me, but the baby is fine. He is 5 weeks old today and perfect.
