for about 2months now I have had a cough, lots of mucus, wheezing, when I cough now i pee on myself which is embarrasing.
I cough to a point where I vomit a thick mucus......Seems I only vomit from my throat, if there is such a thing, as its not the same as when I'm burning in my throat. I have not had a cold, so don't think its post nasal drip........The cough seems to come outta nowhere and nothing brings it on. Not worse at nite or when laying down. I've had this cough for 6 months and have mentioned it to my dr. several times. I wanted to get tested for asthma, but he said my chest is clear...
My boyfriend coughs up mucus from his lungs daily. What could be the cause of having constant mucus in your lungs? Please help.

I have been a smoker for 8 years, and I have Asthma. I wake up in the morning and in the middle of the night coughing up a lot of the little mucus balls. It happens a little bit through out the day. Sometimes they are balls and sometimes they are like a hair, but made of mucus. I am very scared and do not have health insurance. I am 25, and thought I was pretty healthy. Please someone, HELP!
I have been coughing up black mucus for about 1 year or so now. I smoke cigarettes and I have had a puncutered lung about 20 years ago. Heart disease, and chronic bronchitis are on my mothers side of the family. and my mother has emphezema. I breath fine and feel fine. If I stop smoking will this clear up?
I have a problem with excessive coughing, night and day. The coughing will continue in spurts until I've successfully coughed up mucus. Can this be symptomatic of asthma?
Is it possible that asthma sytmptoms of coughing, and tighteness in chest and mucus can be caused by advanced invasion of roundworms in the lungs? I have had very unproductive coughing and some times I get a clump of rather dry mucus that tooks like spagetti or worms. I also have fatigue and a feeling of fullness all of the time.
No problem there, I have had bronchitis several times. What concerns me is that a few days ago I was coughing up pink mucus. Then it turned into a peach color, now it is getting brighter with orange. Now, I did go to grade school so I am thinking yellow + red = orange. I asked the Dr. at the E.R. he didn't seem to have an answer for me and was not concerned about this. Why is my mucus a solid orange mass that I am coughing up? No, I have not eaten or drank anything that was orange or pink.
It has been for a while now every morning when I wake up I spit mucus with blood?
I was smoking it regularly, sometimes very heavily for about 7 months. Last week I started coughing up green thick mucus, and a couple of times there was a small amount of red blood present in clear mucus. I have a terrible cough, that is sometimes accompanied with dizziness. I am not sure if I have a fever(no thermometer)and sometimes feel a little sick to my stomach. I have slight chest pain, described best as a tightness. At night, the tightness gets pretty uncomfortable.
I have a nebulizer and it helps a bunch with coughing up mucus, but too much makes me dizzy. I don't have health insurance, so I go to county hospital usually. But all they do is give me breathing treatments and a shot of prednisone and send me home. Now, I have a few prednisone pills left over from last time I was sick. Can taking these help? Some cold medicines that I've tried in the past (Nyquil, Sudifed, Robitussen, etc) seem to make my asthma worse.
Hi, I used to have the problem of coughing and lot's of mucus after eating. If I laid down right afterward, the mucus would come up in my throat and it would feel as though I couldn't breathe. None of the over-the-counter antiacids helped me. It wasn't until I started taking Nexium that I got any relief at all. I also have post-nasal drip, so it was a combination of things that was causing the cough, but once I got those things treated, the cough and the mucus went away.
I had no realize how terrible lung problems were! Now I'm still sick and don't know how to make this mucus stop! I don't know how to stop this coughing! Tomorrow morning is my last dose of medicine and the 7 days are up. But I'm still SICK with all this coughing and mucus. Please help! What is wrong? Will this stop soon?
This thins mucus. If the mucus is from your lungs it will thin that too. B5 also reduces inflammation. Neither treatment will do any harm and they may help identify the problem. You might also want to take 500 mg of vitamin C to reduce inflammation.
what could be causing my 16 year old mixed breed female to suddenly start coughing almost non-stop and spit up clear mucus.
mucus in my throat (it might last many months) and combined with a coughing (it will last again 3 months?). How hard my life is? I hate mucus and/or coughing. Could you give me some ideas or encouragement? Kind regards.
when I take Prednisone for exacerbated COPD, I have significantly increased production of mucus from all areas that show inflammation.....lungs, throat, nose, sinuses. The mucus thickens. The coughing and mucus production does not abate until the Prednisone is withdrawn. I have had this happen several times now. My Dr. does not believe this is caused by Prednisone even though withdrawing the Prednisone causes rapid resolution of the problem. Is anyone familiar with this problem?
4 mths ago my dad fell off a ladder & was admitted to critical care.Broken ribs caused a hole in his lungs. As a heavy smoker he had emphysema & copd.He was put on ventilator,& extubated within 3 days but put back on when suffered withdrawl symptoms from heavy drinking & went psychotic, causing breathing difficulties.Wk 2 he developed a lung infection & put on antibiotics.Had 2 chest drains put in for a few wks(1 on each side).
And I'm starting to get sick again... should the doctor have re xrayed the lungs to make sure pneumonia had cleared up? what is the difference in the appearance of xrays between pneumonia and anything else, like cancer? I have been sick all winter long, and I just want to get better.
I have been to the doctor several times over coughing, taken bunches of medicine, when the medicine runs out I cough again. I have sinus drainage, allergies (for which I have had two years of shots), my nose isn't clogged and I do not have sinus headaches, occasional sinus pressure, nothing bad. The past several winters I get a "viral infection" and I cough, mostly at night, I get this a couple of times a year, late fall and mid spring.
My brother has an intense cough. He has had it for about 3 weeks and it is not getting any better. The doctor prescribed an inhaler and certain cough medicines but nothing is working. It has gotten to the point where by the end of one of my brother's coughing "attacks" he is in tears and feels as though he is going to be sick. It's the worst in the morning and at night. It is less painful when he is at school in class, but as soon as he goes outside for lunch it gets worse again.
I have to blow in his face before he will take a breath. My doctor has listened to his lungs and chest over and over agagin and they are clear. We have has x rays done and nothing has shown up. He sounds like a cat when he breathes. it rattles in his throat. It seems to me that he has flem or somthing stuck in his throat all the time. We have tried steroids and multiple medications and nothing has worked. he cant slppe through the night and he makes me feel so bad.
coughing up blood is a sign of serious infection like TB, you need to call you doc immediately.
Mostly it starts in the evening, generally after supper but I have also started coughing in the morning or during the day. The coughing can last anywhere from half an hour to a couple of hours before it stops. Most of the time I get a wheezing noise in my throat/lungs. One time I believe it was triggered by being in a smokey room as about 15 min after I left it stopped. Sometimes the coughing isn't real bad, just annoying and other times it is painful.
