Coughing mucus heart disease

Common Questions and Answers about Coughing mucus heart disease

coughing

Since we are talking about coughing. I had a few questions of my own. I have had issues coughing for the past 4-5 years. I caught constantly. Sometimes it makes my headache worse but sometimes I don't have a headache so it doesn't bother me. I do have sinus disease as per my MRI. So that explains the post nasal drip. I always have problems coughing whenever I am near or around water. For example I cough so much in the shower that sometimes it will make me throw up or gag.
I have been coughing up black mucus for about 1 year or so now. I smoke cigarettes and I have had a puncutered lung about 20 years ago. Heart disease, and chronic bronchitis are on my mothers side of the family. and my mother has emphezema. I breath fine and feel fine. If I stop smoking will this clear up?
Coughing from heart disease and especially coughing at night is a symptom of Congestive Heart Failure. Congestive Heart Failure can give a dry cough or produce white or clear mucus. Has he been retaining any water around his abdomen? If he is, it would be suspicious for left side congestive heart failure which would be more serious than right side congestive heart failure.
This is usually a symptom and not a disease. This could be due to post nasal drip which is mucus accumulation in the back of the nose and throat, excessive or thick secretions, or impairment in the normal clearance of mucus from the nose and throat. Try to avoid the nasal irritants such as cigarette smoke, perfume, aerosol sprays, smoke, smog and car exhaust. If it persists, it is best that you have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and regards.
First, Heart Disease- With Heart Disease, the weak heart cannot pump as well...Fluid builds into the lungs causing the cough..The cough is usually MOIST like they're choking on congestion...Actually, they are...The cough is worse during the night & mornings. Also, during periods of running, playing & excitement....Fluid will show in the lungs on an xray.....Heart is usually enlarged......Fairly easy to rule out & Heart medications work well for treatment.......

Eventually the inflammation will go away, and then the coughing will stop. This is called reactive airways disease (RAD) and behaves a lot like asthma. When this inflammation is treated with an inhaled steroid, which is used to treat asthma, it often clears more quickly. Sometimes an inhaled bronchodilator, like albuterol inhalation aerosol, may help. Sinusitis is an inflammation of the mucous membranes that line the sinus cavities.
I have had the same cough for several years. It's always after I eat. I've been to all kinds of doctors and have tried all kinds of medicines but the only thing that ever helped me was Prednisone. The problem is that it's a steroid and doctors don't like to give it because it has side effects, but I can take it for 7 days and then I'm good for a couple of months with absolutely no coughing. When it starts again I take it for another week.
Yes, he could have emphysema, liver disease or prostate cancer. The red mucus could be from bronchitis or from more serious lung disease, including cancer.
Since then I have felt unwell, with daily coughing up mucus. Sometimes it is clear, sometimes light yellow, or dark yellow. More mucus in the mornings and it can wake me up at night. I have been tested for asthma and allergies and don't have either. Lung function tests are normal. CT scan was normal. On Advair 500- 2x per day, Atrovent, Salbutamol 4x per day, and Allegra 24 as per doctors orders.
another possible problem that needs to be checked out that I thought of after my reply is heart disease..cats will often have asthma type symptoms with that too.. as far as the bronchial herb, one thing that stands out is its distilled with alcohol and alcohol isn't safe for cats, there are many herbs in that formula, I couldn't find much info on whether they were all safe for cats...
My dog had severe heart disease but was fine..I had to put her down because of kidney failure recently (I feel so sad still). However, She had heart disease for 5 years. She was on lasix (waterpill), enapril, another type of diaretic and vetmedin...It worked very well at keeping her lungs clear...Her cough calmed down almost completely and lived a comfortable, happy life. She had a very enlarged heart, but the meds still worked great...best to you!

No coughing or wheezing, but occasional clearing of the throat with minor mucus, but only occasionally. I have had sinus trouble. Other than this, I am healthy, but I'm wondering now if this is liver? I don't know if creatinine levels have anything to do with liver, nor do I know if they are high again, but I know liver disease can present with vague nausea and chest pain.
, reflux meds, prilosec, anitibiotics if cold, and dry the upper respiratory up so no mucus drips. She also said coughing begets more coughing and once the cycle is set up hard to change. Dr. Karen Lahive - Faulkner Hospital, Boston, MA My alt. med doc, said MOLD toxicity and allergy. Also tested me for mycoplasma pneum. I tested positive. They are now (at year 2) doing the DNA PCR for mycoplasm... plus lyme (positive bands), etc... Look up Biofilm as well.
These alleged conditions differ greatly from those of medically recognized diseases such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and coronary heart disease, each of which is associated with a clear-cut history, physical findings, and laboratory tests. With these, however, the range of symptoms is virtually endless and typically does not correlate with physical findings or science-based laboratory tests.
While I'm typing this message I have been clearing my throat at least a hundred time and spitting up mucus and coughing. The only time I get any relief is when i'm lying in bed partially on my stomach. I hope someone comes up with an answer to this as it is driving me crazy. And keeping my wife awake also.
I understand the frustration, the embarrassment--having people look at you like you're carrying some disease, or having a bladder accident, not to mention coughing during a conversation. I'm told the cough is particularly piercing over the phone, so I've gotten in the habit of covering the mouthpiece and moving it away. I hope if any of us find a cure, they post! Thank you all for your post and letting me know that at least I'm not alone in this.
I voluntarily cough when I have this sensation in my throat - 90% of the time after coughing it produces clear mucus. Most of the mucus appears after eating meals. After a couple of coughs everything feels clear. I also normally have an urge to clear my throat. At night, a few hours after dinner, my thoat and lungs feel really clear and feel the best at night. Does this sound like reflux in my thorat?
How does interstitial disease interact with the CF factor? How do nodules reduce in size? Does that mean the interstitial disease is gone? Why did my lungs get scattered small nodules and a calcified lobe? FYI, I contrated Aspergillous, Non Invasive T.B., and Serratia in '02 from a bone graft for the C5 area. Now, I am faced with many doc appointments concerning my lungs. I had a lung biopsy, but nothing was found.
it has absolutely nothing at all to do with mucus or blood...it is the hearts natural way when it detects an irregularity of the heart and the electrical to attempt to re set itself which is what you want it to do...and it really is a good thing that your body is so sensitive that it senses that and attempts to correct itself.
I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out. The last one about 2 years ago stopped me breathing in and out completely for 10 to 15 seconds and I thought I had bought it.
I have been in the Hospital 4 times this year,COPD. Very sick. And coughing constanly with mucus. Used Nebulizer, Advair, antibiotics and many things. Then I did a little research for myself, about when these attacks came on and eliminated many things first of all strong odors. perfums and aerosole sprays of any kind. Nuts, even peanut butter had a bad reaction so I stopped that, and I love nuts, they caught in my throat and I felt like I was strangling, I avoid milk products as well..
The LVEF may be lower when the heart muscle has become damaged due to a heart attack, heart muscle disease (cardiomyopathy), or other causes. An EF of less than 40% may confirm a diagnosis of heart failure. Someone with diastolic failure can have a normal EF. An EF of less than 35% increases the risk of life- threatening irregular heartbeats that can cause sudden cardiac arrest (loss of heart function) and sudden cardiac death.
They have pulmonary edema, enlarged abdomens, thick or swollen knees, difficulty breathing, lung conjestion, coughing, spitting up mucus. These people most likely require several pillows at night to sleep, allowing them to continue breathing without going into congestive heart failure. This doesn't occur ever so often, this is a way of life. I'd wonder if you work out often and are pulling a muscle, or possibly have pinched a nerve. Auto accidents can cause this also.
