Post nasal drainage down the back of the throat can cause itching and coughing. In some people, the coughing leads to vomiting, though this is not a common problem.

We have taken meds and puffers nothing is working. I have been coughing then leads to vomiting either flem or froth, and gasping for a minute or so out load to replace hair in my lungs. It is the most horrible thing... I get headaches and feel very tired. But told that we are to just relax and takes time :( Well to take time it's been over a month that we have been so sick!!! I will keep you posted on our condition!
It is to the point that I cough so hard, I end up vomiting, (sometimes 3-4 times a day). None of the many specialists I've been to seem to believe me, even a cough specialist tried to tell me it was in my head (a habit cough). I went to an allergist, who had me in for MANY tests and a lengthy period of time. She was one of the few who actually witnessed several episodes, telling me that there is no way this is a habit. It was also found I had no allergies.
It is so severe that it leads to vomiting and panic level shortness of breath. It is prohibiting any restful sleep and keeps her awake for hours afterword causing fatigue throught the day. There is some phlegm with the cough. She is 42, a smoker, is allergic to cats and dogs although we have had a 4 lb yorkie for 4.5 years with only mild and occasional reaction in my wife. We recently (6 months) ago added a Parrot to the household.

My 14 month old daughter coughs on pretty much everything. Even yogurts and purees. Sometimes it leads to vomiting and dinner do-over. It is extremely stressful to feed her. I do not have any suggestions and cannot seem to find anything online. I will talk to my ped later today about it.
I'm having a sever cough since two weeks that leads to vomiting and the cough makes me breathless and today I started having a throat ache. The vomiting and the cough increase when I eat and during my sleep. I asked someone and he said its a stress affair and I should visit a Dr but I've been busy so could you please help? AND its the first time yo experience this.

Quite often, I seem to get this uncontrollable coughing fit that leads me to feel like vomiting. I get the same feeling after trying to eat too - and as a result, I haven't eaten properly in 3 days. After I cough, sometimes I just expel a lot of gas (burping) and the feeling sick seems to dissipate, but it feels absolutely terrible. I haven't been to a doctor about this, but is there anything it could be?
My girlfriend has been experiencing random and somewhat frequent coughing fits (once or twice per week) that always leads to vomiting. It often occurs after meals but she also often wakes up violently to these coughing fits. She had a severe case of the flu in January, and as far as either of us can remember that is about when the coughing fits started. They are becoming less frequent but are still a cause for concern.
My 2 year old daughter willl start coughing between 4-5am and the coughing leads to her throwing up. it usually lasts about an hour but she doesnt wake up when it starts. she doesnt have a fever, or runny nose. she doesnt cough during the day.
Sometimes the coughing is so severe I end up vomiting or I often gag almost to the point of vomiting (It's very exhausting.) It doesn't seem to matter what I eat, and it happens pretty much after every meal. I have never been diagnosed with any kind of respiratory problem like asthma or anything like that, nor do I have any food allergies, but I was wondering if maybe I should tell my doctor about this problem and if maybe it is a fixable thing? Does anyone else have a similar problem?
it was after a while as a married man i noticed in my early 20's i nolonger could stomach strong smells, dirty napies/ hairspray/de-oderant etc as they brought on a choking sensation and then violent coughing which always resulted in vomiting..this vomiting had its moments and came without warning, driving the car?
She is usually a healthy girl, but this winter she has had strep throat twice and the flu as well. But those don't seem to be related to the vomiting episodes. I am going to continue searching the food sensitivity since my daughter seems to vomit at the same time each night, and it is largely undigested food. (with enough time having passed since a meal that it seems like an unusually large amount.) I would appreciate any additional information any of you find.
I get a sore throat (not tonsils but when you swallow) I now go straight on antibiotics and use Bricanyl inhaler although it doesnt seem to have much effect except to cause alot of mucus coughed up from the lungs. It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out. The last one about 2 years ago stopped me breathing in and out completely for 10 to 15 seconds and I thought I had bought it.
Welcome, I have a number of suggestions, but due to very limited time right now, I will have to do short segments.... As with all food, you get what you pay for.....This bothers me: I know, I know... everyone hates Puppy Chow. Do you know why people hate puppy chow? Here's a link that will give you an idea: http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/dog-food-reviews/purina-puppy-chow/ Your Eukanuba Puppy is a little better, but still considered low quality.....
Sometimes I struggle to breathe when coughing. This often leads to vomiting or urination. I also wheeze frequently. I have pets (2 dogs, a cat & a rabbit) but I have always had pets. I do not smoke, but my both my husband and ex-husband do. My house is dry from heating, but I do not notice any difference in my coughing between summer and winter. A while back I did do a lot of work on the outside of our house which involved cutting pressure-treated wood.
I always shower to try to clear the congestion, but end up coughing and vomiting up mucous uncontrollably. This leads to severe cramping and anxiety of the stomach, hot and cold chills, sweating and uncontrollable trembling. I have to be taken to the ER where I'm given Dilaudid to ease the cramping. Each time I'm taken to ER all sorts of tests are given to determine if there is something wrong with my stomach and everything comes up negative.
I am having trouble as symptoms come on very fast. Most annoying is the coughing leads to vomiting very quickly and very difficult to use inhaler once that starts! Had a very scary morning that I couldn't control breathing, coughing and vomiting enough to take Puffer. I am using inhaler 2x nightly and usually 2x during day. Last night was the first night I didn't use my inhaler and I have never gone a day without using Puffer at least once but mostly use my max of 4x a day.
I have a horrible gag reflex as well, I don't gag because of things that are gross, but can't seem to cough without gaging as well which as previously stated often leads to vomiting. Now you may wonder why I am now bringing this up after living with it for 30+ years. I've since had 2 sons and my youngest son is experiencing a similar issue, so its high time I've had it looked at and I am starting by seeking some knowledge from this database. Any help would be much appreciated.
There was NO sign of extracapsillary extension, and though a result of zero nodes would have been nice, the results did make for a very nice and thankful Christmas. This leads me to my next paranoia and question...chemotherapy. We head in to the Onc on the 7th and I was interested in having some background on what is to be expected and perhaps some insight into what has been successful for others. My partner is 42, premenopausal and adopted. Her path report is as follows: 1.
It is very rare to have an allergy to titanium, but it has been know to happen, especially if you have allergies to any other metals. See an allergist and get tested just to make sure. Since the metal is on the INSIDE of the body, don't do the skin tests, but have the blood test done. You may need to call around to see who in your area does this type of allergy testing as not every office does.
You can also (before you go to appt.) help her to zero in on one of the largest problems (that leads to the smaller ones) so if this doc is willing to take on the investigation, you've got a game plan - kind of a priority list of sorts. Wishing you both all the best of appointments tomorrow. Know we're pulling for you.
She got bit better but the reflux is essentially still there. She just starts with coughing n that leads to projectile vomiting. She still takes semi solid diet coz she doesnt swallow solids or dry food. Right now she has terrible coughing n has vomited about 6 times in just 4 hours. She is not taking anything. Her coughing isnt dry at the moment. So she vomits mucous as well now. No medicine is working for cough or for reflux.
I have the same problem-actually I wouldn't call it just a problem because it's taking over my life. I've never been able to burp and eating and drinking gives me such bad air pressure in my chest that I get nautious all the time. The only thing that helps is sticking my finger down my throat and releasing the air. It really helps temporarily but I can't get myself to do this in public. It sounds like i'm throwing up..and people think I am. It's so embarrassing.
People are allergic to me. And a lot of other people around the world are suffering from this condition. Doctors do not beleive the reports, and most of them claim that we are crazy but we all know that we're far from being crazy. This condition causes so much heartache and stress. I have sent emails to CDC, NIH and WHO with no help. Would you please address this issue?
The FDA took meds off the shelf and the pediatrician can not and will not prescribe anything for my very sick child. He has an extremely bad cough which leads to vomiting. He can not hold any foods down...not even Jello and broth. For the past few days (3 or 4) he hasn't eaten anything. If he has it's been a few things and he's threw them all up. I have been trying everything that the doctor told me....humidifier, motrin.....but he is still the same.
For the last 2 years or so I have gained a persistent and painful cough, coming from my chest, I never had a good nights sleep and and ears ending being an issue, I also end up vomiting a lot due to the amount of coughing. Everytime I go to the doctor they listen to my chest and say its not infected and theres no wheezy noises or crackling. But it is becoming a problem. I understand I do smoke ocassionally ( not a lot) but I am only 19 and i didnt think smokers cough would be here now!
