Any green respiratory secretions can mean an infection. Do not suppress them, instead cough as often as you can. If you have not already, give your MD a call since this has not cleared up in 2 months. Are you a smoker? Have you recently had the flu, pneumonia?

a Z pack and then started Cefdinir on sunday .SO my question if I am puking and coughing up lots of mucus and ribs on left side still sore does this mean my pneumonia is trying to clear up?

Hi my son who is 13 has been violently coughing for over 3 weeks, he first was given strep throught meds. Then he was given a puffer and biaxin for broncitis. He has violent coughing attacks, which takes his breath away and he vomits. this happens quite often all day and night. I am worried. If you can give me any answers it would help.

Id call your doctor tomm if it doesnt go away,,esp if you are coughing up yellow/brown or green tinged secretions.

i have had this cough for 2 months now and i would like to no that same question^^^^,when i cough it makes me vomit,and green and yellow flem comes out of my mouth i have been to the doctors and they have said its only hay fever or u have a lot of mucus , so they give me some tablets and the cough as not gone, i would like to what it could be and what could get rid of this cough i am really starting to worry now please some one right back

Remember that coughing is a way to move mucous out. I do understand, though, as coughing is abrasive to the system and that becomes irritated and people then end up coughing for awhile due to just that. So, maybe just use the cough medicine at night. Allergies often have 'itchiness' to them. Itchy eyes, back of throat. And over the counter allergy medicine works pretty fast. You could try and see if it makes any difference but I really think you basically have a cold.

However, several weeks ago I developed a bad sinus infection and along with it I started to have green/yellow discharge coming out of my right eye, which has since spread to both. I was given a strong dose of antibiotics for the sinus infection along with eye drops to combat the eye infection. Unfortunately, the drops and antibiotics has not stopped the discharge from my eye(s). I have seen an eye doctor and he said I don't have an eye infection.

Bronchiolitis can cause bronchial spasm and repeated coughing, more so in the night. For therapy bronchodilators are given as syrups or inhalers. On initiating therapy with this, the cough symptoms are likely to increase in an effort to bring out the secretions. Repeated steam inhalations can help loosen up and bring out the secretions, though this should be done prior to meals. These episodes should subside as his immunity builds up. Im not sure if i have an infection or what and seeking advice.. I know your advice will be to stop smoking, but even when i do for a while the coughing never ceases. Ive also been having pain in my left lung when i cough. On rare occasions blood will be in the phlem.

I am using an airway clearance vest and a nebulizer. Neither seems to bring up any phelgm although it is green when I get any up. Is the treatment different when you have dry bronchiectasis? If I can't get the phelgm and plugs up, does it just sit in the bronchial tubes and continue to get infected? Hoping for some understanding so that I can do whatever possible to keep this disease under control.

Well, the alternitive is not coughing and still having those secretions in your airway. Which could lead to other problems. So coughing is a good thing. Try drinking more water, this is the easiest way to thin secretions. Also try the guaifenesin(Mucinex), this is an expectorant and will think mucus also. Your MD will probably give you some meds as well.

I recently got this cough that goes and comes. But when it's here it's like I'm coughing up nothing and really hard. I coughed so hard tonight I got sick. But if I'm just clearing my throat, I occasionally cough something up, but it's a very light green almost clear. What could be causing the coughing?

Hi not sure if anyone will know this but worth a try, i have smoked for 41 years mostly roll ups with no filters or anything, but about 3 plus years ago i started putting filters in and after a few months started coughing up green phlegm i asked the doctor he just said getting older and smoking, Some days it seems worse than others its really strange, i don't smoke load about 15 a day but there dead thin and i only smoke half at a time.

I am experiencing what seem to be tiny black secretions in various places on my skin. At first I thought it was just dust from frequent use of dry erase markers. Then I noticed them when I wasn't using dry erase markers. They seem to be uniform in size (about the size of a pin *****) and rub off the skin. I've noticed them mostly on my hands, face, and back, but they may also be in other locations. I do not seem ot have any rash or skin lesions.

HI, The collection of blood and secretions may be the cause of the green discharge. If there are no associated symptoms like itching or burning then removal of the tampon will be sufficient to relieve the discharge. Hope this helps.

ve coughing out phlegm non stop for the past two month. Its not bloody, but thick and green sometimes white and foam like. My chest also feels tight everytime i cough. I use the sprays and all but this problem is permanently there.

I did not know where to post this sorry in advance. But I have been battling this cough and congestion for 2 months now i can't stand it lol.
