coughing

Avatar f tn my dog went on to live until 12 years and had to be put down for other reasons, even though her heart disease did progress. With the right meds, your dog can go on and live a happy full life. Please let us know what happens.
Avatar n tn Coughing for 3 months initially brought on by walking pneumonia. Dr says it is asthma related and gives us inhalers that don't seem to work. The odd thing is, he does not cough when laying down. Another Dr told us there is no way it's asthma because it would get worse laying down. Missed 2 months of school last winter and 3 months this winter. Looking for answers or suggestions.
Avatar f tn This is very common and is a result of your vagus nerve being stimulated by the coughing resulting in a sudden drop in blood pressure as it temporarily causes your heart to pump less efficiently causing less blood to go to your brain. The drop in BP causes your symptom of feeling faint, it is very common and completely normal.
Avatar f tn my hubbie is wanting me to go to ER or urgent care as he is worried about my coughing impacting my heart and starting up the a-fib... he is a tad over protective!! However, I can be too laid back about things and just "wait" and see what's happening. He coughed for 2 weeks and was pretty sick; however, has no heart probs. so thanx for your comments....I read them to him.
Avatar n tn My wife (57 year old) has had a chronic cough accompanied by occassional sneezing and gagging for over 3 years. She has been to every specialist we can think of - lung, gastro, GP, heart, throat, allergist, etc. She just had tests done for Gerd which included the Bravo monitor and the test was negative. She has had numeorus x-rays, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds and any other tests that can look inside her lungs, ears, nose, esaphogus, stomach & throat.
328381 tn?1269364102 i also have had 9 stents over the last four years. after my bypass i followed up with my heart surgen they did a chest xray in march because of coughing the dr said mild fluid left lung nothing to worry about it is now july i wheeze during exertion and i wake up 3 times a night with coughing and wheezing i spit up a white mucus. no swelling in legs or feet but my abdomen is very hard but getting large. i think fat would be a little softer.
4121556 tn?1350428560 Only you, your family, and your regular veterinarian should be involved in that discussion. Regarding the coughing, the most common cause is a degeneration of the mitral valve within the heart. The veterinarian who sees your dog will be able to diagnose this via an exam and some xrays. The xrays will also help rule in or out cancer, parasites etc.
Avatar f tn So, for 3 months now, I've been coughing. Sometimes a lot, and sometimes, like right now, I just get random tickles in my troat with results in coughing. I've had chest pain before within these 3 months, but it went away. Now it's back, and it's a bid odd. Sometimes it's a burning sensation with over the counter meds for acid reflux can take care of, and sometimes it's random tightness/sharp stings both medial and lateral on my chest. Especially when bending over.
Avatar m tn After a procedure of having 5 stents in my left coronary artery I had an episode due the fact the catheter had pierced the artery wall, causing a small bleed. It was sealed with a stent, but caused a rhythm problem to occur in recovery. I remember asking the Cardiac Doctor for a bowl because I felt nauseous and the pain from the incision was unbearable. She looked at me, then the monitor and kept shouting "I want you to cough, and keep coughing".
Avatar n tn my father having hernia problem, he had heart blockages too 90,99,90% we come to know in an geography, we don't want to do bypass sugary but want to do hernia operation whether it is suitable for him???
Avatar f tn I have had issues coughing for the past 4-5 years. I caught constantly. Sometimes it makes my headache worse but sometimes I don't have a headache so it doesn't bother me. I do have sinus disease as per my MRI. So that explains the post nasal drip. I always have problems coughing whenever I am near or around water. For example I cough so much in the shower that sometimes it will make me throw up or gag. If it rains or snows outside I cough more than if it is not moist outside.
5967085 tn?1377539802 My Chihuahua is 11 years old and she has been coughing for about 5 months now. This is not a reverse sneeze, it is more like a dry hacking cough and then she will wheeze for several minutes (about 10 minutes on average). She sounds like she is in pain and she cannot breath properly during those spells. Her cough is especially prevalent during the night and morning. She will have coughing spells throughout the day as well (around once every two hour).
Avatar n tn My 12 yr. old pug has been coughing for 3 months. I have been to two different vets and together they have ruled out collapsed trachea, kennel cough, pneumonia and heart disease. He has been on several different antibiotics and steriods. He is still eating as usual and the coughing seems to be worse at night. They are not productive coughs just dry hacking coughs. I am running out of ideas and am desperate for answers.

Avatar f tn Sometimes there are coughing episodes if the heart is not pumping efficiently as it creates pumonary congestion. Also, there are some heart medicine that has a side effect of coughing. Considering your fathr's health issues, it may be a good idea to consult with a doctor to rule out serious condition. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Avatar n tn Coughing from heart disease and especially coughing at night is a symptom of Congestive Heart Failure. Congestive Heart Failure can give a dry cough or produce white or clear mucus. Has he been retaining any water around his abdomen? If he is, it would be suspicious for left side congestive heart failure which would be more serious than right side congestive heart failure.
Avatar n tn I have been worried about him because he does complain of heart palpitations fairly regularly. He says the cough occurs because of the heart palpitation. He says it happens for up to several hours, then goes away for up to several weeks. Yesterday it happened all day long. He is beginning a moderate exercise program-will that eventually help? He is 38 and not of an age that I would usually think is associated with most heart problems. He is not overweight and does not smoke or drink.....
Avatar n tn Well minus the coughing it sounds like a panic attack. Does the coughing trigger the heart palpitation or does the heart palpitation come before the coughing? Sometimes coughing can trigger a rapid heart rate. Don't worry about it but if you ever pass out then you must go to the doctor immediately. It's good you have mentioned it to a doctor. Good luck.
Avatar n tn I have a heart pain when i breath deep and when i breathing normal i I have some discomfort . My mom has a heart disease . What can i have??
Avatar f tn I have had a chronic cough for the past month, and every single time I cough, my heart wants to race out of my chest! It elevates up to about 130 bpm every time I cough, and then it takes a good 5 minutes to calm back down!! I have had an ECG, an echocardiogram, chest x-ray, holter monitor, event monitor, stress test! All are apparently clear! But I'm so afraid to cough!! Anyone else ever had this bizarre problem?
Avatar m tn The past few days she has started coughing again, and it seems to be getting more frequent. Her resting respiratory rate is good, that doesn't seem to have changed. She is still eating and drinking normally. Should I be concerned about the increased coughing?
