Common Questions and Answers about Coughing for a long time

coughing

Avatar n tn When you say you have chest pains when sitting for a long time, is this because you do not have a good sitting posture and sit slouched? Do you have any other symptoms with the chest pains, like wheezing, coughing, shortness of breath? Without any other symptoms, it is likely that it is due to your posture. But to be on the safe side, I suggest you see your doctor to listen to your chest and examine to find out whether this is a muscular, lung or heart problem, indigestion or heartburn.
Avatar n tn Hi there Jill81, i was just wondering if you ever managed to get to the bottom of this - ive noticed in my 27 month old this evening something like which you have described its like a small curled (at the sides) tongue in the back of her throat i saw it whilst she was screaming (happily) its worrying me a bit as well as she has started to cough a little bit over the past couple of days nothing major just and not all the time but on and off coughing dryly.
Avatar f tn I am 27 weeks pregnant as of last friday, and I have been sick for about a week and a half now. I've been coughing non stop and the excessive coughing has caused a strain in my back. I can barely walk. I've been to the hospital but they wouldn't give me a cough suppressant, I need some kind of remedy because the coughing needs to cease. Please help.
Avatar m tn This time, with the steroids, the coughing got a little better, but did not totally go away. At this point I had had this cough for about 6 or 7 weeks. After about a week, I was still coughing, though not as much, and decided to make an appointment with a pulmonologist.
785584 tn?1273249232 You Betcha Jen!!! I feel you all the way through with that one. Perhaps many of us do, but much as selma stated above, whenever I've tried to back off and just live a normal life... I pay for it. I do agree also in the sense that sometimes we need to check ourselves so to speak. Check ourselves as with something that effects our entire life such as chiari, it is easy to be single minded which is not good for our emotional well being.
Avatar m tn i suffered from a productive cough for at least 7 months, this is the 1st time i had a lung infection and my health is generally good. the cough developed while on holiday in australia. i was given several antibiotic courses which never totally resolved it. i was also never given a firm diagnosis. it began as an involuntary cough which produced thick sputum which varied between yellow and green, it progressed slowly and was not accompanied by fever.

Avatar m tn My symptoms started a month ago when i had a fever, throat pain, coughing up yellow mucus and a runny nose, so i decided to visit my doctor which prescribed Klacid 500 mg (Clarithromycin), which i took and after a few days the runny nose stopped and my throat no longer hurt, however, i was still caughing, which a follow-up to my doctor gave me Valdocef (Cefadroxil) which i also took but the cough remained.
Avatar m tn There are no other symptoms, no rash, no problem breathing yet, But coughing dry and gets really bad at night, also after coughing for too long during the night i get a bit of chest pain then it goes away. Cough medicines don't do a thing, i started taking sleeping medicines so i can sleep at night.
1620623 tn?1298930297 Welcome to the forum. The concern would be if you have mold in different areas of your apartment. You need to rule out mold, before investigating further. It is imperative that you act soon. Mold grows in areas where the moisture levels are higher and sometimes are hidden behind walls and not visible to anyone. You should raise your concerns with the landlord.

1008544 tn?1256099088 Hi Roxy, I suffered for years too with allergies and my error, i found the cure for it. I was doing a prune juice cleans for one day. 16 ounce class of prune juice , followed by 16 ounce apple juice and 16ouce water every thirty minutes for 8 hours and the next day OMG my sinus was clear and I was like wha tthe heck, this is interesting.
Avatar n tn Coughing and sneezing? No hun that isnt a pregnancy symptom. She probably has a cold or allergies.
Avatar f tn Go to a doctor! You should have gone when it persisted for more than a few days. Coughing up blood could be a lot of things. The one that immediately comes to mind is tuberculosis. If it is, you'll need a year, I believe it is, of antibiotics (do take the ENTIRE course even when you feel better, if you do end up with this or we can end up with another drug-resistant strain). Even if it wasn't one of those two, coughing up blood is not a good thing.
Avatar f tn I cough up yellow mucus all the time and i wake up in the morning and my sinus is always blocked up. I have had this for about seven months. It recently started getting worse with a sore throat but i'm not sure if it is the flu or the infection. Should I go to the doctor? I went to the doctor a while ago and got antibiotics but it didn't help so I am wondering if i should go back to the doctor. Is it normal for people with asthma to have so much mucus that is yellow all the time?
1577093 tn?1296713631 I just recently found out, I'm about a month along, just in time for me to get a cold/chest cold. I woke up this morning with horrible cramps, but no blood. I was coughing horribly throughout the night. Is it possible for me to strain myself from coughin, or maybe even miscarry? Anyone that can help me I would gladly appreciate it.
Avatar f tn Put vicks on the bottom of your feet and put on a pair of socks. Or use a humidifier at night with eucalyptus oil.
Avatar n tn Brown, I was diagnosed with vitreous detachment, but the optometrist said it would resolve itself in time. I think what caused it was the constant, forceful coughing I did during a recent bout with bronchitis, (??). It has been 6 months, at least and I see no relief. I can't wear my contacts because the lens in the right eye (the one with the problem) only magnifies the blurring.
Avatar m tn This morning I found blood in my phlegm when I was brushing my teeth. This is the first time I found blood in my phlegm. I am a non-smoker, non-alcoholic & vegetarian (often I eat eggs too). Kindly help. Thanks.
