I've been coughing now for about 5-6 weeks. When I cough now, it gets very bad that I can't breath. I went to see both my primary doctor and the surgeon for my lapband and they both just gave me coughing medicine w/codine, but that isn't working. I don't cough anymore like I used to, every 5-10 minutes, but when I cough now it's sounds like I have a lot of mucous, that I can't bring up and spit out.

I am on week 2 of treatment pegintron/ribavarin. I had a cold 2 weeks ago right before treatment started. I cant seem to shake it now. could this be from treatment or is it still my cold? I cough terribly and have a lot of congestion. I am seeing my GI this week but was just wondering if anyone else had this an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>withan> treatment? He needs to be seen by the vet for a full exam, that much is clear. ask your vet for some sedatives to give your dog before you bring him in. There should be something that will calm him down an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>withan>out having to completely knock him out. He could have a whole lot of other things going on an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>withan>out jumping on cancer right away. If you can obtain a sample, bring some of his urine in an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>withan> you as a urinalysis should be part of the exam. I had a dog an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>withan> a similar temperament.
I also have developed a coughing/mucous problem following a very bad head cold about 2 months ago. My doctor said I had bronchial asthma last week and gave me one week of antibiotics. I wasn't wheezing when I saw him. Of course, at night is when the wheezing, choking, and funny noises start! I am also willing to try the oregano oil or anything at this point!
5 1/2 weeks of extreme coughing day and night an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>withan> passing urine when coughing, urinary urgency, but unable to pass urine, treated twice an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>withan> different antibiotics, two kinds of musinex expectorant an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>withan> anti cough. BUT no cough relief. I had X rays/negative, Listened to for collapse lung/negative, original flu treated and fever, sore throat gone for the last 2 1/2 weeks. Need avenues to pursue next, Thanks for any ideas, M.H. D.O.
My daughter is 9 and has been coughing for over 12 weeks. Probably began an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>withan> a cold--she was coughing more than once a minute all day long for a week (I timed her). No other symptoms. Her asthma action plan (pulmicort and albuterol nebs) did nothing. Ped pulmo saw us--she had normal pfts...he said it was viral. When it didn't get any better, he prescribed 14 days biaxin and 20mg prilosec in the a.m. That weekend, her cough went from constant to occasional, but never went away.
Hi I'm almost 11 weeks and I have had a cough for over a month already and it's driving me crazy. My doctors have given me 2 rounds of antibiotics 2 breathing treatments and an inhaler but nothing is taking this cough away. I can't sleep. I go into such strong coughing fits that either I can breath or I end up puking. Which makes me feel nauseated most of the day. Does anyone have suggestions on what I can do? also this is my first pregnancy.
swollen glands and a feeling that my airway was in a spasm. The cough also started then. coughing fits that last for min. tears rolling down my face gagging and coughing to the point of vomitting. The sore throat went away after 2 weeks but the cough is still here. I have wheezing that is not present all the time. I also have gurgling sounds in my left lung that also are not constant. I have seen my MD and did levaquin and steroids. The steroids seemed to help for a while.
it has been going on for about two weeks--I am going to try the claritan tonite and see if that helps--it is a dry cough accompied by a clear runny nose--it doesn't seem to bother him at all just me and dh.

Hi, I have been coughing very badly for over a month now. I also have asthma, and i've been to see 4 different doctors. at first i was given steroids (prednisone) for the coughing and it didn't help at all. 3 weeks ago i did a chest x-ray and it was clear. The doctor gave me an antibiotic (roxo) 2 weeks ago and it didn't help so i went back to him. a week ago i did another chest x-ray and was told i have pneumonia.
Brought her back to the doctors and they did a test for whooping cough(have to wait 2 weeks for the results) and a chest x-ray, which was fine and put her on steriods. a week later she was still not better. She was seen by a pulmonary specialist this morning. They do not know whats wrong an style = 'background-color: #dae8f4'>withan> her. In the office they had her take singulair,a 10 mg tab, use a advair diskus and nasonex. That was at 9:00am this morning.
However, this is not working. She still has all the above mentioned symptons and now has had diarrhea for 2 weeks on and off (about every other diaper is mushy instead of runny). I took her to a Urgent Care clinic the other night and told him what was going on and he said she has nocturnal asthma and the diarrhea could just be allergy related. Okay now I have tried changing her foods, everything. aaaaRRRRGGGGGHHHH I am so frustrated.
