Common Questions and Answers about Cost of pacemaker surgery in india

pacemaker

Avatar f tn Are they speaking of another pacemaker or of a biventricular ICD (implantable cardio defibrillator)? The guidelines indicates that bellow 30% EF, the ICD is recommended to avoid risk of sudden death. If this is the case probably they need to extract the existing leads, which is a delicate operation. The use of bivent pacing is recommended if the movement of the ventricles is not in sync. Or she has a long QRS interval (more than 120ms). In those cases she might feel better after implant.
Avatar m tn The cost of a radio frequency ablation in the United States can run from around $2,000in facilities that only specialise in this procedure to around $3,000 elswhere. It is my understanding that medical procedures in India can be as much as 70% less than the same treatment in the US which would make this procedure the equivalent of between $140 and $210 in India if what I have read is true. I hope this helps!

987762 tn?1671273328 The main reason is that they are VERY expensive. MRI equipment varies in cost, depending on the strength of the scanner. Scanners with more strength produce more detailed images so these scanners usually cost more.
Avatar m tn I have read where US citizens have traveled to India to get major surgery done because of the high quality and low cost. These people of course don't have insurance to cover the work at home, in the USA. You seem to be working the reverse...seems to suggest you think the high cost of medicine in the USA is worth the cost, you are willing to pay more to get "better".
Avatar m tn The equipments they use in India are the same as in the US, the neurologists are (a lot of them at least) educated at some of the leading medical colleges around the world (US, Norway, New Zealand...). This is not posed as a question as such, but its just me thinking out aloud. Comments are welcome though.

Avatar m tn I'm sure the cost varies from one area to another, but we would have no way of knowing what the cost of this or any other medication would be for people in different locations. You would need to check the price with whoever would be dispensing that medication to you (pharmacist? clinic? doctor). Best wishes...

Avatar n tn You are not a LASIK candidate in you in the right eye. I would consider a LASIK in the left eye if your cornea and the rest of your eye meets the requirement and consider a phakic IOL in your right eye. Dr. O.
539989 tn?1218832080 I had surgery six weeks ago to have a pacemaker put in. There were complications and the Dr. pierced my lung and a chest tube had to be inserted. I still have alot of pain from where the chest tube was and I have some numbness on the left side of my back, side and arm. My chest is still extremely tender from where my pacemaker was placed. I am wondering if this is all normal. My pacemaker scar is very bad looking as well.
Avatar n tn I have not seen any statistics regarding relying on luck instead of surgery. With a 90% occlusion in particular, it makes me cringe with the thought of that huge lump of plaque waiting to burst open to release the contents into narrow vessels of the Heart of Brain. Medication may help symptoms, but it does not remove the time bomb.
Avatar m tn My doctor says we will have a re- treatment with Pegintron, RBV and Telaprevir. Is Telaprevir available in India. If not where in the Asian countries can i have the treatment.
Avatar n tn The trend today is medical tourism. Some of the popular countries in medical tourism are Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Poland, India and Thailand. Excellent medical procedures abroad are very affordable in terms of dollars. See the price of plastic surgery in Mexico, for example, at http://www.myplasticsurgeryinmexico.com/ and see the difference. Their medical packages already includes the whole medical procedure, accommodation, and food.
