Coreg xl

Common Questions and Answers about Coreg xl

coreg

Avatar f tn It is a combination of Coreg and Tropol XL, I believe. This gives all the benefits of Coreg and reduces the tiredness that people complain about. Our relatives in Europe use the medication and have energy to travel to US and all around the states. I am not sure what the name will be of the medication when it becomes available in the US. Salmon, fish oil, and dark chocolate have been shown to raise HDL levels. Your level should be in the 50's if you can get it there.
Avatar m tn He has me dropping to 12.5 of the Coreg and 50mg of the Tenormin twice a day for 4 days and then 6.25 Coreg and 50 Tenormin twice a day for 4 days, and then only the Tenormin 50 to 75 twice a day depending on BP numbers. Any one have any knowledge or thoughts about this? BTW I trust my Cardiologist but am nervous anytime I have to change meds!

Avatar m tn what happened is my bp was going very low for months after being on coreg for years and accuprill too and i was feeling bad palps in chest once in awhile so i finally asked if i had afibd to there surprise my machine had recorded episodes, they thought i was reacting to the alpha in coreg and put me on toprol xl but the first day i guess the half pill wasn't enough and i had severe afib that went through the av node and caused a ventricular tach attack and i was on the floor with my defib b
Avatar n tn The medications I take is an ACE inhibitor (dilates vessels for less workload for the heart) and Coreg. Coreg (beta blocker) keeps my heart rate within acceptable parameters and also reduces anxiety while exercising. The problem could be your medication, thyroid problem, or/and other medical problems. You should report the exercise problems with your doctor as it is not normal to have the symptoms you are experiencing with exercise (ruling out extremely low physical condition).
926651 tn?1244140366 3. The only difference I can identify in my routine is that my cardiologist started me on Toprol XL 25mg daily. Any ideas why this spike could have occured?
343006 tn?1314446471 p has to be the worst **** on the market -besides toprol xl or diovan ! killer drugs ! iv been off the coreg now for over 14 hours - and will soon go back on the verapamil and dieretic pills as I would rather live with swollen ankles and get out of breath here and there.. at least my b.p was down to normal levels. coreg didnt lower my b.p down .. it stayed up 2days of this ! and its pure horse plop ! Isnt there a law somewhere that protects us people from these drug makers..
Avatar m tn m @210 (still overweight) and on low dosages of Lisinopril (10mg), Toprol XL (25mg), and a diuretic (37.5). Over the past 4 weeks, I've experienced some morning sluggishness and ED. It's not a sudden onset; I've been very cold some nights at bedtime, had sporatic ED... and I walk 5 miles a day four or more times a week... so up to now, no one has been surprised about a pulse of 60. Only now my pulse is often @ 50 and occasionally in the mid to upper 40's.
Avatar n tn The operation was totally successful and I was prescribed 25 mg of Toprol XL to be taken twice daily. My local cardiologist (who has been treating me for the past 20 years) says my heart muscle has shrunk back towards normal size and that I'm "doing so well" I should cut my Toprol XL dosage by 50%. Do you concur? Would this reduced dosage have any negative impact whatsoever on the mean-time-to-failure of the replacement valve? Thank you very much. CCF is simply the BEST!
Avatar f tn I take nitro pills and lisinapril and coreg and simvastatin. I also take asprin, soma (for leg pain) I am on effexor xl celexa (mental health) what I would like to know is if any of these pills or a combination of any would make an alcohol blood test elivated.
Avatar m tn My cardio gave me some samples of 10 mg coreg to take once a day and a prescription to fill if the side effects from the metoprolol do not get any better. The side effects from the metoprolol have gotten a little better, though as I type this my heart rate is 52 bpm. Does any one have any comments on the pros and cons of carvedilol versus metoprolol? I'm not sure I want to switch if the side effects will be the same. Does anyone have experience with metoprolol?
1243333 tn?1296446902 ve developed a ulcer), the last hospital stay when they discharged me they told me to tell the doc and they could put me on different meds, but the only response I keep getting is we have you on the max dose, in my experience with life more is not necessarily best so would the same be true of BP meds.( My Bp at home runs around 190/145 plus) I take valturna 300/325mg, coreg 25mg, spironolactone 100mg, hydralazine 100mg, norvasc 10mg, imdur 120mg, clonidine 0.
Avatar m tn I am a 45 yr old male, 5ft 6 inches tall, 148 pounds, smoker for 25 years now quit after MI on 8/5/2010 most likely due to going off plavix .Family history of cardiac disease, father died at age 36 from stroke related to high blood pressure. My history before MI I received 6 stents due to blockage of 80% in 2 arteries, LAD i believe, in 2006.These were what is called kissing stents since they were placed back to back on both sides of the "widow maker".
Avatar n tn Of course, lots of things can cause headaches, but the fact that you did not have headaches before you were put on Coreg--and now you DO--makes a pretty strong case that Coreg is in some way responsible. Call your doctor and report this problem.
Avatar f tn I was on good ol Toprol xl for about 6.5 years with DIovan ! bad combo ! I suffered for years, on these idiot drugs. I tryed a few times to get off the meds - however blood pressure spiked high on me - and I had massive dizzy spells happen - due to h.b.p shes right on the mark, about kidneys damage - and heart damage due to b.p being high and untreated - as well the arteries get damaged too and clogged up. as the blood pounds threw the vains to the heart ! alot of damage can happen !
Avatar n tn I had a minor heart attack in August 2008 and I had 5 stents put in. I was started on coreg 6.25 two tmes per day. The dr recently reduced me to 3.125 because of weight gain. I am still gaining weight. I decided to stop it altogether and did not tell my dr. My resting pulse is up as well as my pulse rate upon exertion. I just stopped the coreg. Will this regulate itself in a few days.
Avatar n tn This caused me to become very fatigued and my doctor attributed it to the Coreg so he switched me to 10mg Norvasc every day (after weaning off the Coreg for 3 days). This was 2 weeks ago and I'm still feeling the same fatigue. How long does Coreg stay in your system after you stop taking it? I know that Lexapro can cause tiredness as well, but my doctor seemed to think otherwise.
Avatar n tn Try cutting back, and it is not unusual for the heartrate not to increase very high with exercise. I believe you asked about another beta blocker as a substitute for coreg. Coreg as a dual mechanism as it also has an ACE inhibitor effects that helps dilate vessels. It is highly recommended for heart patients. Take care.
Avatar n tn I am curious as to your opinion regarding the use of coreg for blood pressure control for a juvenile diabetic, with renal problems (37%) function. The coreg causes problems controlling the blood sugar in the patient, and it causes bouts of vomiting and loss of consciousness it also causes very low blood pressures, fatigue and shortness of breath.
Avatar f tn Other than lowering your pulse and blood pressure, if you took Coreg but did not need it, could it cause other damage? What symptoms would you have? I am on Coreg as a trial to see if it fixes my chronic shortness of breath. I just wondered if it was safe to do so or if it could cause permanent damage if in fact I did not need it.
475570 tn?1280941363 I take coreg twice a day, but coreg cr is a slow release medication for once a day. The recommendation is 1 capsule each morning wih breakfast that will help lower blood pressure all day and all night.
475570 tn?1280941363 It seems logical to take the medication with the morning meal. I take Coreg twice a day, rather than Coreg CR one a day with the extended release. My blood pressure and heart rate is very good.
